The day was done, more items were sold, and more people lost their arms.
A rather normal day for Domnus all things considered. Which was good considering that Domnus didn't want to lose any money.
But as he started to get up, he heard the thumping of feet coming out of the dungeon. Multiple different adventurers were coming out of the dungeon.
It was the Loki familia coming back from their dungeon expedition. They were tired and annoyed that they didn't' get anywhere close to their goal.
Due to unlucky monster spawns in the backline in the earlier floors, important adventurers who shouldn't have been anywhere near the monsters got hurt, so the Loki familia decided to turn back and heal up and go back another time.
Luck is a factor of life and death in the dungeon, and the Loki familia didn't want to go onto to unexplored floors with the deck stacked ageist them.
Of course, Domnus didn't know about the reason why the adventurers were tired and frustrated, but he did see a good opportunity to sell as many healing potions as he could.
Putting the crossbow away for another time Domnus grabbed a potion and put in on his stand instead. He was about to grab a megaphone and yell at the adventurers, when he realized that maybe yelling at a bunch of frustrated people wasn't the best idea if you wanted them to buy something from you.
So, Domnus quickly grabbed a spear, part of a wood wall, a piece of paper, and a quilt, and put them together to make a makeshift sign that said, 'Healing Potions Available Here!' on it and began to wave it around.
Unfortunately, Domnus was ignored by the familia. The reason was eventually obvious to him, which seemed to make sense.
Domnus wasn't trusted, and his presence wasn't enough to command the adventures who were walking past him without giving Domnus a second glance.
He needed a plan, and fast. Yelling would probably hurt him more than help him, he can't just throw the potions at people, he needed someone to help prove the validity of his potions.
Then he heard the sound of someone being pushed around.
Giving the scene a glance Domnus saw that there was what looked like a little girl dressed in a cloak being pushed around by the adventurers.
But something was off, it looked like the girl was moving from adventurer to adventurer bumping into them on purpose.
Taking a closer look Domnus saw that the girl was stealing small objects from the adventures. The objects ranged from magic stones to pens, but something was always taken.
As he watched the girl bump from person to person an idea formed in his head.
Grabbing a bundle from his bag, Domnus got up to talk to the sneaky thief.
As he did that the tiny thief started to stumble towards Domnus, as if to bump into him. What the girl wanted to do was obvious.
However, as she got close Domnus reached out a hand and grabbed her head, picked her up a bit, then dropped her back onto the ground.
"May I ask for your help in something?" Domnus asked the girl.
"Please ask whatever you need," the girl smiled at Domnus with a fake smile.
She was annoyed that someone had stopped her from continuing to steal from the adventurers. Then the person grabs her by the head? She was not a fan of that.
"You see I have a little play I want to put on in front of the adventures," Domnus said, "And I need one more actor to sell the show," Domnus explained.
"I'm sorry, but I have no time to put on a show," the girl said thinking about what Domnus wanted.
"It's a one time thing, and I'll pay you," Domnus said trying to convince the girl.
"How much?" the girl asked interested.
"Two hundred valis," Domnus said, "And all you need to do is act hurt for a little bit," he then explained.
"Fine," the girl responded, "But nothing weird, and I want my pay up front," the girl said.
"Deal," Domnus said reaching his hand to the girl.
In response the girl reaches her hand out in response, but her hand in left un shook as Domnus's hand reaches over and grabs the girl by the scruff.
In two jumps Domnus retreated back to his stand with the small girl in one hand and a filled bundle in the other.
"Can you let me down now!" the girl asked.
Hearing this, Domnus opened up the hand holding the girl and dropped her onto the ground once more.
"Ok, here is the full plan," Domnus said putting the filled bundle on his stand, "You will act injured, I will give you my potion, you will miraculously be healed," Domnus then reached into his bag, "Ok?" he said before handing over two hundred valis to the girl.
"Ok," the girl replied taking the money.
The girl knew that the potions that Domnus was selling had a chance of being useless, and that adventurers could get hurt if they trust the potion to heal them and it doesn't.
That actually made her want to do this more, she wanted to hurt the adventurers, and if she got paid for doing it, that was a bonus.
"So, how good is your," Domnus began to say.
"OH WOE IS I," the girl yelled out gaining the attention of many of Loki's familia members, "WOUNDED WITH NO TREATMENT IN SIGHT, DEATH SHALL UNDOUBTABLY COME FOR ME NOW!" she continued to yell falling dramatically to the ground.
"Worry no longer," Domnus said grabbing a potion which was on his table, "For this brew shall heal your aliments!" he said giving the girl the lesser healing potion and giving it to the girl.
With a quick swig the girl drunk the potion and was about to comment on how it healed her, when she noticed that she was actually being healed. The bruises from bumping into so many adventurers were becoming less noticeable.
For a moment she was stunned, she truly expected the potion to be a scam of some sort, then she was nudged by Domnus, which caused her to remember what she was doing.
"THANK YOU, KIND MAN," the girl said getting up and leaving.
With all the things that had happened, she had forgotten about the things that she stole.
Whispers could be heard throughout the crowd. Some whispering that this was a trick, that a potion could never heal so well. Others whispered possibilities that the potion could be as good as it seems.
And Domnus? He was writing 'Bag of Mystery' on the bundle filled with the girl's ill-gotten gains.
