"Toxic boyfriend" Laura said in a sing song way with her mouth to the side, and her hands covering her mouth from Allegra's view
"Not my boyfriend" Allegra corrected
"But he could be. I mean, two of you in the same house with all this tension, how could you not imagine the likeliness of something ever occurring between the both of you. I can bet it would, surely, like a time bomb waiting to go off" Laura said, going back to the conversation of her and Seviun.
"Never in a million years, I would escape if I could" Allegra insisted
Laura gave no reply as the two began walking to the bus stop. Allegra didn't want to be late again – Laura just has the gift of making her lose track of time.
As they approached the stop, Laura said, "Well, if you cannot escape from him, you can find a way out and escape for one night of fun at this party. And I promise you the party would be lit"
"I can't, Laura, I am sorry"
"Oh come on, even back at your parents, you used to come out for parties. Find a way, I know you can – and besides you know I would always be ready to assist in night sneak outs" Laura winked, bringing tp their remembrance the one time she helped Laura sneak out for a party back in high school – it did not go well.
Allegra snorted as she remembered, Laura may love sneaking out, but from that one experience, Allegra knows her friend is not the best one to call for assistance in such things.
As though suddenly getting a bright idea, Laura shrieked excitedly, slapping Allegra's arm. "I have a plan"
"Oh no" Allegra groaned. This can't be good.
"Oh, trust me, it is good" she said as she rose on the tip of her toes to whisper in Allegra's ears her plan.
"Pfft! That wouldn't work" Allegra said entirely doubtful of the plan.
"It would, trust me. I would tell the others" Laura said beaming, overly excited with the plan. "And it is a good thing the party is not until two days' time; we have more than enough time to iron things out. And get you what to wear"
"I appreciate the effort, Laura, I really do, but I don't think that's a risk worth taking, I mean, all for a party?"
"Well, duh! If you don't take risks for parties now in the days of your youth when would you? At eighty?!"
Allegra was going to say something back when she noticed a sleek black car that she knew without a doubt belonged to Seviun. It wasn't one of the ones he rode, so he most likely wasn't here – but then that would mean he sent his men for her. Why? She checked her watch, she is not running late. She inwardly sighed, hopefully they were here for something else. It would be best for her to sneak away unnoticed.
Laura was still talking and not noticing her friend's sudden change in mood and countenance, as she began walking towards the direction of the sleek car which is where they would usually wait for the bus. Allegra tugged on her sleeve to redirect her, for them to stand elsewhere, but Laura wasn't getting the message.
"What? What's that? Did you see a hot guy somewhere?" Laura asked as Allegra tugged at her sleeve, looking around.
"Hot guy? What? No, I mean don't go there, I think that's Seviun's car and he sent his guys for me"
"Seviun? Who is Sev—" Laura was asking before it registered in her head, "Oh, you mean the Alpha King!"
"Would you quiet down!" Allegra harshly whispered, "Yes, and I don't want them to see me"
"Why? What if it's just a harmless escort home?" Laura asked in a whisper
Allegra snorted, "I would rather find my own way home, thank you and why are you whispering?"
"You started— "Laura was saying then suddenly stopped, her wide eyes fixed on something, or someone behind Allegra, "I think they may have found you anyway" she whispered
At the same time, Allegra heard heavy men feet behind her, and she knew they were at least two, she closed her eyes sighing. Dammit.
"You would have to come with us, Allegra" She heard Bear say
"Oh bollocks!" said Laura still in whisper tone, the look on her face apologetic and sympathetic.
