✿ CHAPTER 30 ✿
AMELIA'S POV
"Uhm, can I speak with you for a moment?" I said to Leonard as he stepped into the ward with his assistant behind him.
"Sure," he said calmly.
"You both can take all the time you want!" Sofiya said with a smirk.
"Shut up!" I glared at her before walking outside with Leonard, leaving only Leonard's assistant in the ward with Sofiya.
While we were both outside Sofiya's ward.
"Thank you for saving I and my cousin's life" I whispered.
"if it wasn't for you, I- I can't even think about what would have happened to us" I looked up at him but his expression was neutral as he looked down at me with that gaze again.
'What was going on with this man' I thought to myself as I avoided his gaze.
"Are you listening to what am saying?"
"What if I hadn't called you Amelia?"
"What?"
"What would you have done?" he slowly stepped towards me.
"I, i-"
"Do you know how worried I was, how worried your parents were?"
Every step he took towards me made me feel like I was stepping on hot coal as I also took a step back.
"Just seeing those men touch you made me-" he stopped talking as he took a deep breath.I could see the turmoil in his eyes as he clenched his fists.
"I have never felt the urge to protect someone" he looked up at me again with those eyes.
"Amelia I'm in-"
"Amelia!!" I heard My Mom's voice from behind me.
"Mom!, Dad!" I ran to hug them.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" My Dad asked as he examined me.
"I'm fine" I smiled.
"Mr. Leonard, words cannot express how much I can thank you," My Mom said with little tears in her eyes.
"Thank you so much for saving them," My Dad said.
"No need to thank me Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, I would do the same for anyone," he said calmly as he moved towards my parents.
"Where is Sofiya?" My Mom asked.
"She's in here"
We walked into Sofiya's ward.
"Why won't give me your number?" Sofiya kicked her feet in the air.
"Miss Sofiya, please stop-"
"I won't stop until you give me your number!!"
"Theo" Leonard glared at him.
"Huh" Sofiya hurriedly stood up and smiled
"Uncle, auntie! you're here already"
"Is this the girl that almost got raped last night?" My Mom raised an eyebrow.
"Come on auntie!, I wasn't raped" Sofiya pouted.
"Thanks to Amelia's boyfriend we were rescued-" Sofiya realized her words and immediately
threw her hand on her mouth as she gasped.
"Sofiya!" I face-palmed myself.
"Boyfriend? What boyfriend?" My Dad said looking at me.
"Ah!!, no no!, did I say boyfriend?"
"Silly me!, I meant to say friend" she laughed awkwardly.
"I'm very sure I heard you say boyfriend," My Mom said.
"No no auntie!, like boyfriend, the boy is her friend"
My parents looked at Leonard
"He isn't a boy, he's a man. learn to respect your elders Sofiya" My Dad scolded her.
"Yes uncle"
"I'll take my leave now, I still have work to do back at the company," he said to my parents.
"Why don't we see you out?" My Mom said.
"No it's fine, I have to hurry now."
"Theo" he called to his assistant as they both left.
"Am calling your Mother now" My Dad said.
"Ah!, please uncle, she'll scold me!. She won't even let me go out anymore!" Sofiya pleaded.
"That's on you, so next time you won't get drunk with just anyone" My Mom frowned.
"AHHH!, AUNTIE!!" Sofiya pleaded.
