Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: Friends, Memories, and Mischief

A week later, at the airport.

"Spending a peaceful week like this has been wonderful."

Kojou smiled contentedly as he stretched his body, feeling refreshed after having to "battle" La Folia in bed until the early morning.

La Folia was set to return to the Aldegia Kingdom at noon today, but Kojou couldn't say goodbye properly because his childhood friend would be leaving early in the morning. That was why he spent the night with her, as a sort of farewell.

"Seriously, I'm starting to realize you're really a magnet for trouble, Kojou-kun."

Hearing Kojou's words, Nagisa could only grumble a little. Her brother often got pulled into trouble, which made her anxious and exhausted worrying about him.

Emotions were something uncontrollable. Even though Nagisa knew Kojou was immortal and could not die, that didn't stop her from worrying about him, to the point that she often couldn't sleep at night whenever he got involved in a problem.

"Ugh!" — Hearing Nagisa's words, Kojou felt as if a hidden arrow had pierced his heart. He couldn't deny it; trouble always seemed to find him, even when he wasn't actively seeking it.

"Come to think of it, Nagisa-chan is right," — Asagi couldn't help but agree with Nagisa.

It wasn't just the two of them; even Touka nodded in agreement, while Kanon stood there confused, unsure of what to say. Though she was slightly happy about Kojou's tendency to attract trouble—or perhaps relieved that she wouldn't have to face it herself.

"More importantly, how is your progress now, Kanon?" — Kojou asked, changing the topic, as his little heart couldn't take too many emotional blows. "I heard you've been training with Sayaka and the others to master Angel Faux's power. Any progress?"

"Yes… somewhat," — Kanon replied softly, tapping her head shyly. "I'm still learning how to balance the energy flow between the wings. If I lose control, my body starts burning from the inside…"

Kojou tilted his head slightly, looking at her with a mix of concern and genuine care, before lightly smiling and saying:

"It's fine. No one masters their new power in just a week. Even I took a long time to accept my own power, let alone control it."

Kanon nodded slightly, still bewildered. She was shocked by this revelation; ever since she knew Kojou, he had always seemed strong, seemingly invincible.

"I'll do my best… so I can fight alongside you someday, Onii-san."

"Haha… no need for that. I'm fine as long as you're okay." — Kojou said, gently placing his hand on her head. "Believe me, just seeing you smile is enough."

Nagisa looked at the scene and sighed deeply, lifting her bag as she said:

"Oh, you're hopeless, Kojou-kun… even after everything, you still manage to attract girls around you without realizing it!"

"Please don't remind me," — Kojou muttered, turning his face away slightly in embarrassment, as Asagi burst into laughter beside him.

Before he could respond, a sweet voice came from above, accompanied by the feeling of someone jumping down the escalator toward him.

"Kojou!"

The voice was gentle and sweet, clearly belonging to a girl, which immediately drew the group's attention upward.

What they saw was a very attractive and even beautiful girl, with short brown hair featuring long bangs that covered most of her forehead, a center bang across the middle of her face, and purple eyes. She dressed like a tomboy.

Seeing the beautiful girl, the group was slightly stunned. Though they had expected Kojou's childhood friend to be pretty, they hadn't anticipated someone so extraordinarily beautiful. Kojou had refused to tell them anything about her except that her name was Yuuma.

Seeing the girl leaping toward him, Kojou lightly smiled and stretched out his arms to catch her mid-air, letting her settle in his hands with a smooth, natural motion, as if it had been that way between them for ages.

While holding her, he didn't miss the chance to place his left hand under her rear, feeling her without any shame.

It wasn't that he was trying to take advantage of her—he simply wanted to check how much his childhood friend had grown after so long.

Right. He had no impure motive other than verifying the growth of his childhood friend.

After landing smoothly in his arms, Yuuma lightly tapped his shoulder, protesting in a voice full of playful anger: "You shameless! You still act like this as always!"

Kojou smiled, ignoring her protest, adjusting her comfortably in his arms. "You've grown a lot, Yuuma. I barely recognized you."

"Stop it!" — she shouted, cheeks turning pink, though she didn't try to escape his hold. She seemed used to this kind of behavior from him.

After a moment, Yuuma realized they weren't alone. She looked at Nagisa, Asagi, and Kanon, who were watching intently. She quickly jumped from Kojou's arms, adjusting her clothes as she tried to regain her dignity.

"Ah, hello! I'm Tokoyogi Yuuma, this idiot's childhood friend." — she introduced herself with a bright smile, completely different from how she interacted with Kojou.

"It's been a long time, Yuu-chan," — Nagisa said cheerfully, excited to see Yuuma, holding her hands enthusiastically, as Yuuma had also been her childhood friend.

"Nagisa-chan!" — Yuuma hugged Nagisa warmly, her eyes sparkling with genuine happiness. "It's been so long! And you've become so beautiful."

"You too! You've grown up and become beautiful like this!" — Nagisa replied enthusiastically.

"Yuuma, let me introduce you," — Kojou said, pointing to Touka and Kanon. "These are Touka and Kanon, friends of Nagisa."

Then he pointed to Asagi, standing close enough that their shoulders were practically touching.

"And this is Asagi, my girlfriend."

"Nice to meet all of you. Please call me Yuuma," — Yuuma said, bowing to everyone to hide the gleam in her purple eyes. "Since you're friends with Kojou, you're also my friends. So feel free to talk to me comfortably."

"This isn't really the best place to chat, plus you need to grab your bags and luggage too," — Kojou said, beginning to walk toward Yuuma's luggage to leave the airport. She would only be on the island for a few days, so their schedule was a bit tight.
