Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: The Frost Monarch vs. The Fourth Progenitor

The wind howled across the land like a beast unleashing its tongue, but the weather itself had little to do with what was unfolding now. The sky had filled with cracks of light, each one widening, as if the storm that raged across the land was nothing more than the opening note to a conflict the world had never before witnessed. The air was no longer cold as usual—it was charged with electricity, while ice and darkness gathered together in ominous union.

The Monarch of Frost stood at the center of the arena, consumed by wrath, his eyes glowing within the frost that spread endlessly across the horizon. With every step he took, the ground froze deeper, and icy winds spiraled skyward. His voice rang with chilling resolve:

"You will never leave this place alive."

Kojou had realized from the very first moment that this battle would be unlike any he had ever faced. He fixed his gaze on his unmoving opponent and let a cold smile tug at his lips. What unsettled him wasn't what stood before him—but rather how his own powers seemed to evolve with each passing heartbeat. He lowered his gaze, closing his eyes briefly, allowing himself to summon his Familiars one after another. He would prove that this frost was nothing but the prelude to its wielder's downfall.

"If you think the power of ice can stand against Kojou Akatsuki… you're mistaken," he whispered.

Raising his hand, the air around him began to tremble, forming into Mesarthim-Adamas, his first Familiar. The colossal diamond ram materialized, its body encrusted with more than ten thousand shimmering diamonds, each one a weapon forged for destruction. As Mesarthim-Adamas charged forward, it unleashed volleys of diamonds at blinding speed, tearing through the air like razor-edged shrapnel.

But the Monarch of Frost was swift. He thrust his hand skyward, instantly encasing himself in thick layers of ice that solidified into a massive shield. Yet the diamonds struck faster than the ice could form. They slammed into the glacial barrier with savage force, sending cracks rippling through it as shards exploded across the battlefield, raining down mercilessly upon him.

"This won't be enough!" the Monarch roared, raising his other hand. At once, the ice shifted, transforming into jagged streams of wind that slashed toward Mesarthim-Adamas like countless blades. But Kojou was already prepared. Lifting his other hand, he summoned forth Cor Tauri-Sucinum.

The ground trembled as the colossal bull emerged, its molten body glowing with volcanic fury, its horned head blazing against the skyline. Flames spewed forth with every breath, the searing heat splitting the earth itself. With a bellow, Cor Tauri-Sucinum unleashed torrents of molten fire, a deadly surge that roared toward the Monarch of Frost, warping the air and shattering the frozen soil beneath.

The Monarch descended, gathering ice in a desperate attempt to insulate himself from the inferno. But Kojou did not relent. With a single motion, he invoked Al-Meissa Mercury.

A two-headed dragon materialized in the sky like a twisted shadow. With impossible speed, it closed the distance, its gaping maws tearing open a rift in space-time. A swirling vortex of blue light expanded outward, devouring the ground, the air—everything it touched.

"It seems you're having trouble holding your existence together this time…" Kojou murmured as the Monarch's ice shattered under the crushing pull of the void. Reality itself seemed to crumble around him.

Yet the Monarch of Frost was far from defeated. Even then, he raised his hand to the heavens, chanting words of power. The blizzard swelled in intensity, frost multiplying at terrifying speed until he conjured a towering wall of ice. It was as if he had poured every ounce of his strength into regaining control.

"Do you think I will let you win?!" the Monarch bellowed, unleashing a torrent of magic that drew every shard of snow and breath of wind into his attack. Ice surged skyward, a wave of absolute frost threatening to freeze all creation.

But Kojou stood firm. He whispered to himself, "It's time to turn this battle completely…"

With a sudden cry, he shouted:

"Come forth—Natra-Cinereus!"

The colossal silver crab emerged, blanketing the battlefield in a thick, spectral fog. The shroud pulsed with otherworldly force, blinding the Monarch and nullifying his ice. Within the haze, even Kojou's body dissolved into mist, making him nearly untouchable.

"You cannot freeze this!" Kojou declared, his voice echoing through the fog as he finalized his strategy.

"Now… all of you, together!" he commanded, raising his hand as Alrescha-Glacies appeared in a sudden burst of frigid brilliance.

The sapphire queen shimmered like a mirror of frozen light, commanding water and ice into a raging storm.

"You won't withstand this!" Kojou's voice thundered with absolute certainty.

The Monarch of Frost, cornered yet unyielding, braced himself against the overwhelming onslaught. The battlefield itself became a war of elements, yet with every passing moment, it was clear—the end was drawing near.
