Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: The Monarch of Frost vs. The Fallen King

"What...?" – murmured the Monarch of Frost in a low voice, as he began to sense the overwhelming power approaching him.

Moments of heavy silence passed before the ice surrounding him dissolved, vanishing into the air as though it were nothing more than the trace of a fleeting frozen mist. He raised his hand, his attention shifting to the sky, where strange beings were approaching in an unconventional manner. A peculiar sensation crept into his mind, as if the power drawing nearer was calling to him indirectly—a power unlike anything he had ever felt before.

"It's... that person?" – whispered the Monarch of Frost cautiously, his tone steady yet carrying a subtle trace of astonishment. His features, cold and composed, now bore a faint shadow of surprise. He had encountered countless powerful beings throughout his long reign, but this time was different. There was something in the air that reminded him of death itself. The power before him seemed to exceed his imagination.

Suddenly, a silver-haired man with crimson eyes halted, floating in midair just a few meters from the Monarch of Frost. Black wings unfurled from his back, surrounding him in a majestic aura, making the scene appear as though it had stepped out from another world entirely. The wings swayed gently with the wind, yet they seemed to be part of the darkness itself, absorbing light and bending everything around them to their will.

"You... the one responsible for this chaos?" – said Kojou, his voice cold, tinged with challenge. His eyes, though calm, glimmered as though gazing into something vast and unfathomable. Even though his opponent was immensely powerful, Kojou felt no fear. He had faced countless dark forces before, and he believed there was nothing he could not overcome.

"What brings such nonsense into my world?" – muttered the Monarch of Frost, staring intently at Kojou. He was not truly interested in answers, more so in the power that stood before him. His icy eyes gleamed with caution as he attempted to analyze the strange being that seemed to hail from another realm.

"A new deal, Monarch. One you cannot escape, no matter how hard you try," said Kojou as his hand moved invisibly toward his axe, which was about to be drawn from his inner world. His words lingered between calmness and provocation, urging his foe to act.

"Deal?" – repeated the Monarch of Frost, as though the word itself was foreign to him. "I have no need for deals with strange creatures like you. All I desire is revenge on this world. I want to see it frozen, as my soul has been frozen long ago."

The winds surrounding them began to howl with greater force as the atmosphere shifted suddenly. The once-living sky began to fracture, as though under the influence of a tremendous power seeping into this dimension. Black clouds gathered rapidly, veiling the heavens in oppressive shadows that amplified the sense of dread ruling the scene.

Yet Kojou paid no mind to the sky or the winds. His gaze was fixed solely on his foe, who was now raising his hands in a swift motion. Despite his cold composure, there was a deep focus burning in the Monarch of Frost's eyes. He was preparing to summon the icy might he possessed—power no one could resist with ease. His plan was to engulf Kojou in a tide of lethal frost, as he had done to many foes in the past.

"This is the moment where you'll test your limits," whispered Kojou, knowing there was no turning back. His hand moved almost instinctively, as if gravity itself shifted at his command. He felt an immense energy gathering around him, and the black wings behind him quivered lightly, as though growing larger with the surge of power.

"I have no need for limits!" – roared the Monarch of Frost suddenly, unleashing torrents of ice from his hands. The frost spread with astonishing speed, turning the very air around them into shards of unyielding crystal, encasing everything in its path. This ice was no mere substance—it was frost that seeped into the soul, freezing awareness itself and extinguishing all life it touched.

But Kojou, trained to resist spiritual forces, was not so easily bound. Though the frost brushed against his body, it could not freeze him. The power within him overwhelmed the chill, as though fire burned fiercely in his heart while the ice coiled futilely around him, unable to take hold.

"You don't understand a thing, do you?" – Kojou spoke with a cold smile, one that reflected his deep confidence. "This fight won't be easy for you. Even if you command ice, there's something greater than frost."

"You think you're the only one with power in this world?" – the Monarch of Frost muttered, his voice heavy with strength. Yet there was a flicker of confusion in his gaze, for the power before him was unlike anything he had ever encountered.

The battle escalated beyond ordinary limits. The ground beneath them cracked apart, while the heavens rained shards of ice and blood. Kojou's crimson eyes shone ever brighter as he shifted into an offensive stance, prepared to unleash his true abilities.

"I've been searching for someone like you," said Kojou suddenly, his sharp gaze locked onto the Monarch of Frost. "You're strong—but you'll find me an opponent you cannot take lightly."

"You're in a world where boundaries do not exist," replied the Monarch of Frost, as magical energy erupted from his body unnaturally, forcing the winds to howl louder and the skies to grow even darker.

The black wings enveloping Kojou released a tremendous surge forward, sweeping through the air like a colossal axe. Under their influence, every particle of the atmosphere trembled with acceleration. It was clear—their battle was approaching its decisive climax.
