Jack's POV
My heart pounded heavily as I left the room. Everything isn't just fine, and I wasn't going to believe those thoughts in my heart.
Never, it isn't possible. She can't forget me, not now, not soon. She'll find a way to remember our brief time together.
I found myself pacing around in desperation, my legs clicking onto the marble floor of the hospital.
This can't be happening to me again. Not again. I muttered to myself, my heart full of grief, but in anticipation for Dr. Kate to finally give me the report.
"Sir, what do we do now?" The voice of one of the corps snapped me out of my reverie.
I turned to see Rick, his face full of confusion like a child.
He caused all of this. He ruined my happy life with Emma ten years ago, and now, because of him, Catherine, the one person I've longed for, was in an accident.
My anger flared.
"Take him away. Make sure he never sees the light of day," I commanded, turning away abruptly.
