Brianna looks in shock as the thought of it had never crossed her mind before. "What if he already had a girlfriend?, still that doesn't justify why he's been cold to me but i haven't even considered the thought," Brianna mutters in her head as she squeezes her fist tightly in a mild rage as she continues to stare at them, coming through the gates hand in hand.
Earlier...
"Oh my! Luka, I didn't expect to see you here," a female voice speaks from inside the car.
Luka bends to take a peek and sees a familiar face with purple hair. "Oh, it's you. Aria was it?" he says nonchalantly.
" Yeah, I'm glad you remember me. Where are you headed?, I heard that P&S students don't have any classes today, so I don't think you're headed to school," she says, smiling and with a non-ending glow.
"How did she even find out my department?" he thinks quietly, then says, "That's actually where I'm headed. I still have some things to discuss with Professor Ludwick."
Her eyes widen in excitement, "Then why don't you ride with me? I was just heading to school, too."
Luka feels a bit taken aback by her request, but he makes no response to it. "I'm sorry, but I'd like to decline that offer."
"Huh? Why?" she asks, going into a pouty, sulky mood.
Thinks a bit, "I've been feeling a bit stiff lately, so I decided to take a walk to school today." Then lies blatantly without batting an eyelid.
"But, this place is a bit too far from school, don't you think?"
"I don't think it should concern you much, I'm already used to walking this sort of distance anyway," he says sternly.
Aria then looks at him with concern, "Why would he have walked so great a distance that he's already gotten used to it?" She wonders to herself.
"I'll get going now," Luka says quickly, then continues his walk down the street. While walking, he suddenly feels his hand being grabbed.
"Wait, Luka, can't you just come with me today?" Aria had come down from the car and held Luka's hand. "I don't know why you're walking down to school or why you don't want to give me the genuine reason, but since you saved me, you've become a friend to me, and I don't like seeing my friends in these kinds of conditions."
Luka contemplates whether or not to say what he's thinking, "You might think that, but I don't consider you a friend," he says with no hint of emotion attached to it, then tries to pull himself free and leave.
"I already knew you were going to say that. Although I didn't know it would hurt this badly. But anyway, I won't let you walk to school. at least not today." She says with a sad but stern look on her face.
Emotionless as ever, he froze for a moment. Again, taken aback a bit. Wondering why he wavered, he looks back at Aria and sees her saddened face, then sighs. "Huh... Fine, I'll come with you today. But just today, just ignore me if you ever see me walking to school again."
Aria smiles slowly as though she didn't actually think he would change his mind, and she pulls him towards the car.
"Who is this guy?, and why is Miss Aria clinging to him so much?. I understand that he's good-looking, but she's never shown this kind of attachment to anyone before." The driver thinks to himself as he begins to drive after they had gotten in.
Some time later...
While headed towards the school, the driver suddenly moves aside and parks as the sounds of drums, trumpets, and songs of lament fill the air.
"What's going on?" Aria says as she looks out the window. A large crowd of people, all dressed in black, moving slowly in a long procession, blocked the road to the school.
"It looks like a funeral procession," Luka thinks, then remembers, "Oh, it's the procession for one dignified and beloved doctor of sorts. They say he single-handedly developed over twenty orphanage homes, and most of the kids got to find good families because of that."
Aria looks at Luka in surprise, "Wow, I had no idea someone like that even existed. And you, you don't really strike me as someone who would care for this kind of stuff, yet here you are, surprising the hell out of me."
"Miss, the car won't be able to move for a while due to the lengthy procession." The driver says.
"Then this is where I drop off," Luka says as he picks up his bag, then he quickly opens the door and leaves after closing it.
"Uhm..., Eric, right? I'm dropping off too, just head back home from here. I'll call you when I'm done with my classes." Aria says hurriedly as she quickly hangs her bag and steps out of the car. "Hey, Luka. Wait for me." She yells, running after him.
"Now I'm really curious. Just, who is this Luka kid?" The driver ponders.
Trying to run through the crowd, Aria loses sight of Luka and gets lost within the crowd. She tries to look around, can't see much due to the overwhelming numbers of the crowd, then she's pushed aside to a wall, and stubs her toe. "Ow! Hhh!." Then she bends slightly, trying to catch her breath, but then she gets stepped on, and she leans on the wall for support. Realizing her situation, she begins feeling anxious.
Everything begins spiraling around her as exhaustion creeps in, and she tries to take slow breaths while leaning there, but she slowly begins to black out and almost falls to the ground.
Luka sighs, "Why bother following me if you can't make it all the way through?" he says, holding her by the waist as she stares into his eyes. Her heart begins thumping, and her face turns bright red. "Try not to let go," he says, then he holds her hand and begins leading the way.
Aria, being pulled through the crowd, was still ensnared by the sparkle she had seen in his eyes, "I've never seen anything so beautiful," she thinks. She looks at him as he pulls her through, "and here I was thinking, Prince Charming only existed in fairytales," she says, giggling with a light blush on her face.
