After letting out all the tears, Jamie explains to Luka how he got entangled with Jason and the reason why Jason was after Aria that day. And then, he explained the reason why he must help him, despite not wanting to, every step of the way.
Apparently, Jason and Jamie's fathers were in a business partnership and had been working together for years. As a result, Jamie and Jason spent most of their childhood together. Somehow, Jason turned into a bully and picked on Jamie for being 'scrawny' and 'weak, ' but he would always find a way to convince their dads that Jamie was avoiding him anytime Jamie tried to stay away.
Jamie's dad is a strict man who doesn't take into account people's sentiments in any way. So, He doesn't listen to what Jamie says at all, giving Jason the liberty to use him as much as he wants.
Aria was from the same high school as them, so she knew all of his exploits. And she had once turned him down when he asked her out in school. When he kept insisting and disturbing her, she humiliated him during class one day, and the rumors spread around the school till their graduation.
"Oh, now I understand," Luka nods, "That was nothing but petty revenge. What a kid."
Jamie picks himself up, "Uhm, you need to be careful from now on, cause their sights are on you now. I don't know the details, but it seems he has a gang that he wants to use to come after you."
Luka sighs and turns to leave, "haa... That's gonna be a bit of a problem. But what about you?"
Jamie asks, confused, "What?" "If you don't help him out, he's gonna come after you again. What are you gonna do?"
"I'll find a way for myself, so you don't need to worry," he sniffles a bit and wipes his eyes.
"..." Luka stays silent, then sighs briefly. "If you ever feel him coming to harm you, just look for me, got it?" Jamie nods slightly in surprise, and Luka exits the classroom.
Meanwhile...
Brianna is in the hallway, waiting for Luka to come back. Duke and Brittney told her that they'd wait for them outside and left. "What's taking him so long? It must be something more important than I thought." She thinks to herself.
"Those guys who look like thugs just came from the same wing Luka went in. I hope nothing happened to him," she begins pacing the hallway.
A group of three guys comes walking down the hallway to the exit.
"I'm being serious, guys, I know I saw her with that Prince Star Dude."
"What?!, you must be joking. I had no idea she was even in this college."
"But man, Brianna's got guts. With what happened back in high school, I thought she would have a hard time dating another guy again."
"Yeah. And that Star dude, that guy's too good to be true. Guys like him are just great at face value but would definitely cheat on their girlfriends the second they get the chance."
"Actually, there's a rumor that he's two-timing with that Aria girl in our department. That girl with purple hair I was telling you about."
"You see what I mean?" "Yeah, but..." They keep talking as they approach the wing branches.
Brianna spots them coming and remembers them as guys from her high school. "What do I do? Once they see me, they'll recognize me. I need to hide somewhere." She looks around but is lost and unable to think of how to hide herself.
The guys keep getting closer, and Brianna begins to get desperate and anxious. Then suddenly she's pulled to the other edge toward the left wing and pinned to the wall, with a bag in the hand pinning her, to her left, covering the view of the guys coming. She's startled as she opens her eyes and a black face cap directs her gaze into a pair of ocean-blue eyes staring at her so intensely, with his face so close to hers.
Her face blooms bright red as she becomes flushed with embarrassment and shyness flooding in at once. She feels his warm breath on her body, and her temperature begins to shoot up.
The guys approach and get a glimpse of them.
"Uh... People make out anywhere these days." One of them mutters in annoyance.
"Haha, don't be jealous cause you're not in a relationship." Another laughs and whispers, and they walk past them and out through the exit.
Luka then pulls away and sighs, "They're gone now, you can relax.
"Brianna, still blushing and in confusion, wobbles a bit while leaving the wall. She can't seem to get the sight of his face so close out of her memory. "Thanks."
"No Problem. You looked anxious when you said they were heading your way, so I just assumed you didn't want them to see you." Luka says
"Yeah. You were pretty spot on. I really didn't want them to see me, more or less meet me." She takes a breath of relief.
"I don't mean to pry, but most people I've seen usually want to see their former classmates, or rather people they know, in a new school again."
"Well, I just have some sort of very embarrassing memories of high school, that's why," she replies shyly.
Luka looks at her briefly, then turns away and sighs, "Alright then, if they are memories you don't want to share, I won't even bother asking about them.
Brianna smiles a bit at his consideration.
"Anyway, I thought Duke and Brittney were here with you. Did they leave?"
"No, they're outside."
"Okay, let's head out then," Luka says, and then begins walking toward the exit.
Brianna tries to walk but is still a bit wobbly from weak knees. Luka notices this, goes back, and lends her a hand to walk properly. She takes his hand and they walk toward the exit together, hand in hand.
