Extra Chapter: On Every 50 powerstones

—————————————————————

Among all the characters in Naruto, the one Midorima hated the most was undoubtedly Danzo.

A villain should have the dignity of a villain. Even Nagato, who strayed down the wrong path, did so for the sake of his and Yahiko's dream. As for Obito? He was nothing more than a pitiful pawn manipulated by Madara Uchiha.

But Danzo was different.

As a high-ranking official of Konoha, he had power, wealth, and influence, yet the things he did were utterly despicable. Compared to other antagonists, he was also exceptionally cowardly when it came to preserving his own life.

During the Great Ninja War, when the Second Hokage declared that he would cover for him and Hiruzen Sarutobi, Danzo suddenly found his courage—yet before that moment, he hadn't dared to make a sound.

Moreover, he had a unique trait that other villains lacked: an extraordinary talent for self-delusion. Every time he committed an atrocity, he would justify it with the same line—All for the sake of Konoha—using it as an excuse to rationalize his evil deeds.

Kishimoto redeemed many villains in the series, but Danzo remained irredeemable.

Danzo also disliked Midorima. Noticing Midorima's glare, he smirked and said, "Orochimaru, your disciple has quite the temper. In the shinobi world, those with short fuses don't tend to live long."

"In this cruel world, do those with gentle temperaments fare any better?" Orochimaru replied with a faint smile. "I heard Shisui was a genuinely good man. Don't look at me like that—the name 'Shisui the Teleporter' was already famous during the Third Great Ninja War."

"No, I'm just curious… how did you know Shisui was dead?" Danzo countered.

"Before coming to Konoha, I did some research, naturally," Orochimaru said, his smile unwavering. "For someone like me, this village is still quite dangerous."

Danzo didn't press further. "The reason I called you here is to discuss the procedure for an eye transplant."

Orochimaru stared at him. "You summoned me all this way… just for an eye surgery?"

He really wasn't worth much, was he?

"Yes—a Sharingan transplant," Danzo clarified immediately.

Midorima's eyes narrowed as he focused on Danzo.

There was no need to guess—the Sharingan Danzo was referring to had to be Shisui's.

Shisui's eyes were Mangekyō Sharingan, far surpassing ordinary Sharingan in power. Moreover, they possessed the strongest genjutsu: Kotoamatsukami, a technique with even higher priority than the Edo Tensei.

A Sharingan like this was beyond formidable.

It was worth taking the risk for.

With that thought, Midorima's gaze toward Danzo shifted entirely.

This wasn't just a major antagonist in Naruto—he was practically a treasure trove waiting to be plundered.

"A Sharingan transplant…" Orochimaru clicked his tongue but didn't elaborate.

Clearly, he thought Danzo was making a big deal out of nothing.

After some consideration, Midorima understood Orochimaru's perspective.

It wasn't that Orochimaru looked down on the Sharingan—it was just that "eye transplantation" wasn't considered a high-difficulty procedure in the Naruto world. Hadn't Kakashi Hatake casually replaced his eye with a Sharingan? And hadn't Itachi Uchiha given Shisui's eye to a crow?

Orochimaru's expertise lay in "bioengineering"—cloning and genetic experimentation. Asking him to perform an eye transplant wasn't just outside his specialty—it also wasn't something only he could do.

Danzo didn't respond. Instead, he unwrapped the bandages around his head, revealing his tightly shut right eye.

Midorima's brow twitched slightly. So, this was another Sharingan—though it seemed Danzo had already used Izanagi with it, rendering it permanently blind.

Probably exhausted during the battle against the Uchiha clan, Midorima speculated.

But Danzo wasn't finished. He proceeded to remove the bandages around his right arm, revealing two wide-open eyes embedded in his upper arm. The moment Midorima glimpsed them, a wave of dizziness struck him, forcing him to lower his head.

At the same time, the image of those two eyes burned into his mind—grotesque and terrifying.

"What's the matter?" Orochimaru also avoided looking directly at the eyes. "They seem fine to me."

"I've acquired three more," Danzo said. "But this arm is already struggling to control two Sharingan. Adding two more would likely lead to a loss of control. I need you to… readjust it."

By "readjust," he meant he wanted Orochimaru to find a way to redesign the arm.

Orochimaru frowned deeply.

That arm had been created years ago as an experimental prototype. Who could have guessed Danzo would manage to gather five Sharingan?

"So, you want me to perform the surgery again?" Orochimaru asked.

"Yes."

Orochimaru gave a slight nod. If that was the case, he now understood why Danzo had summoned him.

This wasn't something just anyone could handle.

When Midorima heard Danzo mention five Sharingan, his eyes practically gleamed.

Stealing Sharingan from the Uchiha clan would likely provoke retaliation—possibly even alerting the entire village.

But Danzo was different. For one, he wouldn't dare let the Uchiha clan find out. Secondly, with some clever maneuvering, it was entirely possible to obtain the Sharingan and redirect Danzo's hatred elsewhere.

The difficulty was far lower than trying to take them directly from the Uchiha.

And most importantly—one of those eyes was Shisui's.

The power of Kotoamatsukami was self-evident. Even if it could only be used a handful of times in a lifetime, its value was immeasurable.

"You really are… something else," Orochimaru remarked, eyeing Danzo. "But don't forget—you owe me an Uchiha clansman."

After all, Orochimaru had no interest in simply gouging out eyes.

The activation of the Sharingan was tied to the user's chakra control, and without Uchiha blood, mastering it was nearly impossible. Moreover, a suppressed Sharingan had to remain bandaged at all times—otherwise, it would continuously drain chakra.

Even he couldn't sustain that kind of expenditure.

That was why he wanted a living Uchiha.

The original was always best.

Danzo snorted. "If it weren't for Konoha, do you think I would agree to such a demand?"

Midorima broke out in a cold sweat. Wait… what does this have to do with Konoha?

But demanding an Uchiha clansman? That request was…

Then again, considering Orochimaru's history with the Uchiha, it suddenly made sense.

In the manga, Orochimaru had an undeniable obsession with the Uchiha—from Itachi to Sasuke, he had always sought an Uchiha vessel.

Danzo stood up and walked to the wall, sliding open a hidden door. After a brief moment inside, he returned holding a cultivation flask.

The flask was about 20 centimeters tall, with a base the size of a palm, filled with a nutrient solution—and inside floated a single eye.

Midorima stared at it intently until the pupil rotated toward him. From the pattern alone, he immediately recognized it—Shisui's eye.

"Do you plan to implant it now, or wait until the others are ready?" Orochimaru asked.

"Might as well do it all at once. It's not like I'm in a hurry," Danzo replied.

"Fine. But this won't be simple—what we need most is time. Achieving results within a few months will be difficult," Orochimaru warned.

"You're the expert. I'll leave it to you," Danzo said, tucking Shisui's eye into his sleeve. "I look forward to hearing good news soon."

Orochimaru gave a slight nod but said nothing more.
