Chapter 234 - Chapter 234

Thanks to the high-resolution camera on his phone, Nathan could capture footage of the Dark Organization members, but the three Legendary Pokémon—Entei, Suicune, and Raikou—were simply too fast to be recorded clearly.

The first to catch up with a fleeing enemy was Suicune. Upon spotting one of the escapees, Suicune struck without hesitation!

It was just a simple water gun, about the size of a basketball, casually thrown. But once it left Suicune's control, its speed skyrocketed.

A loud sonic boom echoed through the air—the water ball had surpassed the speed of sound! In fact, it had reached multiple times the speed of sound!

While water itself isn't inherently lethal, anything that moves fast enough can become deadlier than a weapon.

The Dark Organization member who Suicune targeted had no time to react. He was obliterated by the water gun—nothing was left but a lingering red mist in the air. That man had permanently vanished into the Wandering Mountains.

Meanwhile, Entei had also caught up to another target.

However, while Suicune's attack emphasized speed and precision, Entei's method was pure brute force.

Entei raised a single paw toward the sky, and a ring of fire appeared in the air.

Although Nathan was far away, he could still see the fiery ring with his naked eye.

The fire ring rapidly descended.

Under Entei's control, the ring contracted at incredible speed.

The Dark Organization member caught within it saw the flames too late. Before he could react, the fire ring had already reached him.

His Pokémon tried to jump out to help—but it was futile.

The moment they exited their Poké Balls, they, along with their trainer, were vaporized instantly!

Anything can be vaporized—it just depends on the temperature. In this case, the temperature was at least over 3,000 degrees Celsius!

That was a conservative estimate. Watching the video he had captured on his phone, Nathan could hardly believe his eyes.

He had once fantasized about commanding Legendary Pokémon in battle.

But now, seeing them in action, he realized—even if he somehow obtained one, he wouldn't be able to command it.

Perhaps someone in the world had already bonded with master-level Pokémon, but commanding a Legendary one? That was absolutely impossible.

It's not that Legendary Pokémon can't be caught or nurtured—it's that humans simply can't control them.

Nathan kept filming for almost ten minutes. He had no choice—his Flygon just couldn't keep up with the Legendary Pokémon.

Meanwhile, outside the Wandering Mountains, the stationed military personnel suddenly saw someone riding a Pokémon and rushing out at high speed.

Just as they were about to stop him for questioning, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky.

It hit the fleeing man and his Pokémon dead-on. Neither had any time to react; they were reduced to charred remains on the spot.

The soldiers immediately went on high alert, fearing a powerful wild Pokémon was causing chaos.

But after waiting a while, nothing else happened.

It was as if that man had simply been randomly struck by lightning.

However, the precision of that bolt, especially on a clear sunny day, made it obvious—it was the work of a Pokémon.

Several soldiers carefully approached the charred remains.

Seeing there was no saving the poor soul, their commanding officer reported the situation immediately.

Back at the spot where Nathan had first encountered the three Legendary Pokémon, he waited patiently.

Before long, all three of them returned.

"Nathan, do you know where those guys are hiding? I'll wipe them out," Entei said angrily as soon as he landed.

"…"

Nathan was speechless. If he knew, would he have let the Dark Organization run so wild?

"I don't know. But I do have something else I'd like your help with."

Nathan shook his head, then spoke. He had come here specifically to ask Entei to suppress his Charmander's dragon bloodline. Now that Entei hadn't left yet, this was his chance to ask. If he waited and Entei flew off again, there'd be no catching up.

"What is it?" Entei asked.

"I have a Charmander whose bloodline is a bit… unusual. I'd like your help to suppress it," Nathan said, releasing Charmander from its Poké Ball.

As soon as Charmander appeared, Entei looked at it with surprise.

As a Legendary Pokémon, he immediately saw what made Charmander special.

This kind of bloodline could be both a blessing and a curse for a Pokémon.

If handled properly, it could lead to great power.

If handled poorly, it could ruin the Pokémon's entire future.

"This Pokémon… and you…" Entei was at a loss for words.

How could a human be this lucky?

Receiving Ho-Oh's mark was one thing—but even a Pokémon he happened to raise had such a rare and powerful bloodline?

And this wasn't even his only world-class mark!

Could this human secretly be a disguised Legendary Pokémon?

Suicune and Raikou also came over and stared at the Charmander in surprise.

"What's wrong?" Nathan asked, puzzled.

He knew Charmander's bloodline was unusual, but he was still human—his ability to perceive such things couldn't compare to that of a Legendary Pokémon.

"I have no idea where your luck comes from," Entei sighed.

"To think you managed to tame such a Pokémon."

"This Charmander has Legendary potential!"

Hearing that, Nathan was dumbfounded.

He had just wanted to suppress the bloodline to help Charmander evolve.

But now you're telling me it has Legendary potential?

That's like buying a lottery ticket and being told at the prize center that your winnings are multiplied a hundredfold!

"You didn't know?" Entei asked, seeing Nathan's shocked expression.

"Good thing you came to me. If you had tried to suppress the bloodline normally, this Charmander would never surpass the Champion level in its life."

"How about this—you leave it with me. Come back in about a month and pick it up."

After some thought, Entei decided to help Charmander unlock its potential.

After all, reaching Legendary level is no easy feat for any Pokémon.

"Sure! Absolutely! If it really has Legendary potential, you can keep it for a year if you need to!" Nathan exclaimed.

He had always known Volcarona had high potential.

But this Charmander? This was an unexpected windfall.

And this only confirmed something he had been suspecting: the real world was nothing like the game.

In the games, a Pokémon's evolution path and growth were fixed—predetermined by the developers. No matter what you did, you couldn't break those boundaries.

But reality was different.

Every Pokémon's growth and evolution could mutate or shift in unexpected ways.

Just like his Charmander now.

In the game, Pokémon were just data. But here, they were living, breathing creatures of flesh and blood.

Just as humans can be born with genius-level intellect, some Pokémon could be born like this Charmander—with truly exceptional traits.

Biological evolution was never truly static!

After the three Legendary Pokémon took Charmander away, Nathan released his Volcarona.

He was stunned by how much Volcarona had changed.

Thinking back to what it used to look like, then comparing it to how it looked now…

Nathan realized just how much he had helped Volcarona grow.

"Volcarona, you're definitely going to become a worldclass Pokémon one day!"

He patted its warm body with a smile.

"Vol~"

Volcarona snuggled against him affectionately, clearly delighted by what he said.

Coming to the Wandering Mountains had been totally worth it.

But from now on, it wasn't just his Pokémon that needed to grow stronger—he did too!

As a Trainer, he didn't want to be left behind. What if Volcarona became Legendary one day and he couldn't even command it?

Synchronized battling was powerful, but it had its limits.

When those limits were reached, a Trainer's own ability would matter more than anything else.

A Trainer isn't the master of a Pokémon—they are its partner. Its comrade in battle.

After returning from the Wandering Mountains, officials quickly came looking for Nathan.

"Hello, I'm Kelly Long, the person in charge of the current operation against the Dark Organization."

Nathan had just returned to his hotel and was about to take a shower when he saw the man standing at the door, surprised.

To be honest, he knew the authorities would probably come find him—but he didn't expect it to be this fast.

The situation had originally been quite complicated, but Nathan had already resolved most of the difficult parts.

Kelly, the so-called "person in charge," was mostly here just to observe—he hadn't really done anything.

"Hello… but could you wait until I finish showering and change my clothes?" Nathan asked helplessly.

Only then did Kelly realize—Nathan's hair was still wet, and he was clearly trying to hide behind the door.

"Ah—my apologies. I'll wait for you in the lobby downstairs," Kelly said, realizing he'd shown up at the worst time. Then he left politely.
