As for the efficiency of the energy usage of the Bite attack, it's actually directly proportional to the use of stamina of a Pokémon. This is one of the mystery in terms of these creatures that have fought against and with humans since time immemorial, logically speaking, if stamina is tied to the mysterious energy that's being used in battles, that means that 'mysterious energy' should be stamina, but that also means that Stamina should get exhausted quicker because of the need of using it for evading, attacking and defending at the same time in a battle. Yet, some battles went on for 30 minutes at the longest, despite the Pokemons holding this record being non-pseudo-legendaries.
Thus, the whole research community concluded that such energy is not related to stamina, though the source or synthesizing agent of this energy is yet to be unveiled by centuries of research.
Such is the content of Anthony's studies, so he doesn't have any qualms about the efficiency of the energy usage using the Bite move. Anthony actually made Zubat learn the move Wing Attack, but as expected, such non-epiphanic and basic moves can be learn easily, but have still to be mastered using practical experience. In the end, Zubat's Supersonic is the only move where Anthony is not satisfied, as Zubat can only destroy it directly, and the 'layered destruction' is still far away from sight. Then again, Anthony is patient with Zubat's training, so he's just unsatisfied, not frustrated.
After the training of Zubat ended, Anthony sighed.
_It's time for my own training... or review._
Speaking of review, Anthony has also gained a lot of knowledge in terms of technical and supplementary concepts in being an Associate Field Researcher, especially the generalized training method and Analytical Chemistry. In the former, he was able to touch and fully conceptualize all training methods of the 18 known Pokémon types; he's confident that he can properly recall and explain them in front of anyone or even implement them if need be without the need for research on the internet. In terms of Analytical Chemistry, his mother suggested focusing on the main 2, Gravimetry and Titration, also known as Volumetry, as these two are the only usable analytical chemistry methods immediately upon going to the field.
Anthony agreed, as there's no way he would be shooting himself in the ass by learning how to measure isotopes, plus in all seriousness, these two are the most versatile and highly accurate analytical chemistry methods. Anthony can already be considered a calculation master in terms of problem solving, as the framing of the computation is exactly like how SI unit conversion works.
What he needs is practical experience in doing the two analytical methods, something that he would surely have when his parents pulled some strings and gave Anthony a priority status in the practicum for Field Researchers, a requirement that was stated by his mom.
In this case, being a Nepo baby is very convenient, and Anthony is sure as hell that he won't waste it.
Going back, for breeder knowledge, Anthony first mastered all the basics, from food preparation and the ration of berries for different Pokemons, how to treat a Pokemon outside of a Pokeball as well as grooming of nails, feathers and teeth as well as the specialized principle of Ghost and Dark types before going to the hardest part of his studies, the specific Pokemons that no matter how he divide, doesn't become any easy. First of all, every form of a Pokémon is of different potential, even though the second evolution line, for example, is technically seen as the teenager version of the first Pokémon.
This is because the stimuli of Pokémon evolutions differ. The most preferred way to evolve is during a Pokémon battle for most Pokémon, while others evolve with trust and friendship (like Golbat into Crobat of the Zubat line) and others through stone. Depending on the quality of these and other stimuli/requirements for evolution, the potential of the second evolution line might become greater, the same, or even diminish a little. This is the reason why Pokémon league rules officially prohibit interruption of an evolution mid-match, and also the reason why bug types are not particularly strong unless given thorough care, as hurling them 15 meters in the sky can probably induce an evolution.
That means Anthony needed to study the methods and ways on how to see the potential of individual Pokemons, from a Zubat, Golbat, and Crobat, or from Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree, instead of 'The Zubat Line' or the 'Caterpie Line'. And again, this means hundreds of individual memorizations. Anthony asked his mother if he needed to skip this part; however, Hana shook her head and emphasized that such knowledge is usually in the exam. This dismayed Anthony; however, besides dismay, he was also interested in this knowledge and still rigorously studied, so rigorously that sometimes, Anthony was caught not having slept through the night just so that he could absorb the knowledge like a sponge.
After all, he still needs to regularly refresh his memories through reviews, so knowing all of the aspects of the potentials as well as the possible move pool and more about Pokemons is a must just so that he doesn't need to absorb knowledge while refreshing knowledge, something that was proven ineffective by his previous college life. Anthony also needed to learn about moves and how they synergize, and how they should be divided. All of these combined comprised the knowledge pool a Breeder should have, that's why there's a shortage in the middle part of the rankings of Breeders, if the Breeder-I exam is already this hard, how hard would it be the 2nd and the 3rd, and how hard would it be to even think about a possible revolutionary direction of a thesis or dissertation?
Anthony has the delusion of maybe becoming the youngest Doctor Breeder, and it turns out he's not built for that shit, so he just studied at his own pace, in own pace means slowly destroying his eyes, and now he's at a point where he has to contemplate how to say this to his mother without him having his ass beaten. Just as when Anthony was about to coax Zubat, who had just finished its post-workout meal that was still the Protein cookie in the shape of a star to go inside, Anthony and his Pokémon suddenly heard a resounding howl of the wind above their heads.
Alongside such loud, sonorous, even sound are the bellowing flap of wings that came from an orange-colored Pokémon that is currently on its way to descend towards the side of the fence of their mini farm. The Pokemon has wings that of a bat, the inside of such wings are blue in color, two hands with 3 fingers each containing sharp claws can be seen waving at Anthony and Zubat who calmly looked at the spectacle while in the back of Charizard, the flame Pokemon is a woman that's wearing a white undershirt with uncharacteristic jacket, her simple trousers is being held by a belt that's also being used as holster to the 5 Pokeballs the woman had.
Anthony looked at his mother, Hana slowly descended in a grand manner, something that he had already gone numb in seeing repeatedly these past few months, that she's being commissioned by Prof. Oak in soliciting his required responses, apparently for the amendment of the code of ethics of the world of Pokémon and the corresponding teeth-giving laws. If at first, the research needed the initial signatures of Nurse Joys, Officer Jennies, and daycare owners, now all shareholders, including civilians, trainers, coordinators, and the gym leaders, are needed, so his mother has been very busy these past few months and is always away from home the whole day.
_She's really still living her days as a trainer despite being retired for the same time as my age..._
Anthony can't help but shake his head before cradling Zubat and going towards his mom, Hana, to greet her. Upon seeing the two kids of the house that have been working hard for their foundational training, Hana smiled, going down the back of Charizard, who greeted Zubat and Anthony with a wave of its hand before walking towards the edge of the fence.
"Welcome back, Mom."
Anthony greeted, which prompted Hana to use both hands to pat the head of Anthony and his Pokémon, respectively, before replying.
"I'm back. How was your training?"
Hana asked as she smiled, to which Anthony replied.
"It's going great for the both of us. Zubat is already able to do targeted move set training and is about to take on its first battle next Sunday. As for me, well, I'm scraping through my own materials just fine."
Anthony smiled lightly, he then asked.
"How about you mom, How was the commission of the Pokémon Professor?"
At first, Anthony was confused as to why his mother readily and industriously abided by the commission of Prof. Oak, as Hana is known to be quite fickle and possessive of her free time and her time observing her son. However, thankfully, the original Anthony was able to give him the information he had overheard in the conversation between his mom and dad.
Apparently, Hana and Ben plan to establish a daycare with their house getting renovated as one, and sell eggs as they have long predicted that the trainer profession of all kinds will soon give way to a demand for having private, legal, and ethically tested entities to sell Pokémon eggs. Such a prediction came from long years of their experience and the fact that they have superb and valuable skills, even for the league, that them were able to procure some semi-classified information about the current trend of the Pokémon world. This will also prompt Ben Dover to retire as a Pokémon trainer and take the presidential and executive role of the day care, like Hana.
When Anthony remembered this, he became quite excited, as that means he will be able to have two great trainers by his side, guiding him, and as far as Anthony remembers, his father is known to be more hands-on than his mom. This opposite yet complementary parenting style dynamic will bring about benefits in the development of Anthony as a trainer and as a researcher.
Hana, upon hearing the question of her son, smiled and said.
"It's going well, though you won't really expect anything less for a research that's specifically commanded by the league, after a few weeks or so, when all the commissioned trainers and Field Researchers was able to finish their job in soliciting response and the Professors compiled and organized the statements, I'm sure the session for the proper amendments of the code of ethics will start without a hitch."
Anthony nodded while Zubat did so too, though it's questionable if the latter really understood what the other words from Hana's statement meant. In any case, the family went inside together and started to prepare dinner for the humans and Pokemons before eating and finally going to bed. Anthony wished for the plenary session for the amendments to immediately start so that Ben and Hana would be able to create the daycare, and for him to maybe be able to coax them to give him one Pokémon egg.
That would need a successful punch to the moon.
_Well, as long as I get to learn from dad... I can always catch Pokemons when I become a trainer later on..._
As Anthony piled up the books in his bed as well as his scratch pad and pen for another night of studies, he sighed. Zubat then, as usual, perched itself on its trainer's head to watch Anthony study. During the past months, Zubat seemed to enjoy coaxing itself into sleep while watching Anthony organizing, learning, and relearning materials repeatedly, so every night, it would fall asleep in its trainer's head. Anthony found such a gesture adorable, so he let the Pokémon do whatever it wanted.
Anthony opened his book for Hoenn Pokémon information and Dex entries before starting to give all of them code names as well as their abilities for faster memorization and conceptualization. As a former college student who sometimes needed to memorize by the hundreds of terms, Anthony has become a master of such study techniques, tough even then, the studies won't become any easier, rather they would just become much easier to remember once Anthony realizes he already forgot something. As Anthony studied, he realized that his eyes had already gotten so bad that he had to lightly cock his head quite intensely towards the paper he was writing on just so that he could see the words properly, which made Anthony shudder.
_I wonder how I can say this without getting beaten in the ass..._
Anthony, who originally has a somewhat lazy disposition, only has one memory of him getting in trouble because he wanted to do something his mother didn't want him to do, and she reprimanded him regularly.
