Chapter 221 – Shadows Behind the War
The shinobi world trembled.
On one side stood Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure.
On the other, Kirigakure, Sunagakure, Amegakure, and many minor allied villages.
Two great powers now stood opposed—hostile forces preparing to ignite the flames of the Fourth Great Ninja War.
And yet...
In the center of the chaos, Konohagakure stood undisturbed, unshaken—like an immovable mountain. It was as if the combined declaration of war from Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure meant nothing.
And that was the truth.
Within the walls of the Hidden Leaf, shinobi and civilians alike viewed the opposing villages with open disdain and confident amusement.
> "Hahaha! Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure must have lost their minds!"
> "The Fourth Raikage, Ōnoki, and even Orochimaru—do they really think they can challenge Uchiha Yuta?"
> "This is the perfect chance to unify the shinobi world once and for all!"
> "Let the storm come—we're ready."
The atmosphere in the Leaf was one of fierce pride and absolute trust in their leader—the Fifth Hokage.
---
Hokage Office – Konohagakure
At the very heart of the village, within the Hokage Building, a critical summit was underway.
Seated in the room were some of the greatest powers of the shinobi world:
Uchiha Yuta, the Fifth Hokage
Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin
Jiraiya, the Toad Sage
Konan, leader of Amegakure
Queen Sēra, ruler of the Ancient Loulan Kingdom
Hinata Hiashi, head of the Hyuga Clan
Uchiha Fugaku, patriarch of the Uchiha Clan
Nara Shikaku, the Leaf's chief strategist
Representatives from Takigakure, and other allied forces.
> "I truly don't understand where Ai, Ōnoki, and Orochimaru found the nerve,"
muttered Konan, her voice filled with cold contempt.
"Do they really believe they can wage war against the Leaf and survive?"
> "Fools," said Queen Sēra, folding her arms.
"They've mistaken diplomacy for weakness."
> "Let's just crush them," added Hiashi with grim resolve.
"It's time the shinobi world submitted to order."
> "Unification is the only path forward," said Fugaku, his Sharingan flickering briefly.
All present were in agreement: there was no longer room for compromise. Those who dared to stand against Uchiha Yuta—against peace—would be eradicated.
---
> "...And Orochimaru?"
Tsunade narrowed her eyes, turning to Jiraiya.
> "I didn't think he'd take such a path," the Toad Sage sighed.
"But I suppose it's no longer surprising."
---
> "Enough."
All conversation ceased as Uchiha Yuta finally spoke, calm and deliberate.
> "This isn't just their doing. Uchiha Madara has returned—from the dead."
The entire room stiffened.
> "Madara... is back?"
Tsunade's eyes widened.
> "You mean... he's been resurrected?"
Jiraiya's voice was grave.
> "Exactly," Yuta nodded.
"This is no ordinary war. It's been orchestrated from the shadows... by Madara, Black Zetsu, Obito, White Zetsu... and Orochimaru."
A heavy silence filled the chamber.
Each person processed the weight of that statement.
Uchiha Madara—co-founder of Konoha. The man who once stood toe-to-toe with the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. A legend returned from the dead.
And he was now aligned against them.
---
But no one panicked.
Because they all knew something else: the man standing before them—Uchiha Yuta—was not Hashirama, nor Tobirama, nor Hiruzen.
He was stronger.
Far stronger.
The admiration and confidence in the room were overwhelming.
---
> "Then..."
Jiraiya leaned forward.
"Why resurrect Madara now? What's their goal?"
> "It's obvious," said Yuta plainly.
"They seek to revive the Ten-Tails, and through it, the resurrection of Ōtsutsuki Kaguya."
Gasps echoed through the chamber.
The truth hit hard. But deep down, they had suspected something of this scale.
Over the past weeks, Yuta had already revealed the secrets of Black Zetsu, the truth of Kaguya's legacy, and the ancient history of the Ōtsutsuki clan.
Now, the final act had begun.
---
> "Don't worry."
Yuta rose to his feet slowly, a quiet confidence radiating from him.
> "Whether it's Madara, Kaguya, or the Ōtsutsuki clan, it changes nothing."
> "Their downfall was sealed the day I returned to Konoha."
He took a sip of tea, still composed.
> "I can already sense it... the Ōtsutsuki main family has arrived on Earth."
> "When the time comes, we won't just stop them..."
> "We will end this war. Permanently."
The council bowed their heads slightly—not out of fear, but out of awe.
---
> "Begin preparations."
"We march to war."
---
To be continued...
