Chapter 220 – Turmoil Across the Shinobi World
At the same time, anticipation filled the air.
All across the shinobi world, people awaited the response of the Fifth Hokage – Uchiha Yuta.
After all, the fractured system of the Five Great Shinobi Villages had already plunged the world into three devastating wars. From the First Great Ninja War to the Third, countless civilians and shinobi alike had been dragged into meaningless bloodshed—sacrifices to the political games of their leaders.
Now, Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure had sparked the flames of a Fourth Great Ninja War.
Once again, war loomed over innocents, threatening to plunge the world into chaos.
This time, however, the world wasn't willing to stay silent.
A groundswell of public outrage began to rise. Most of the shinobi population—and especially civilians—began to place their hopes on a single man:
> Uchiha Yuta.
The Fifth Hokage.
The one man capable of ending the cycle.
The man who could unify the shinobi world under one banner—and stop the madness once and for all.
---
The Wind Changes Direction
As tensions mounted, public opinion across the Five Great Nations shifted rapidly toward Konoha.
Support for Uchiha Yuta skyrocketed.
---
Kirigakure – Mizukage's Office
At the heart of the Village Hidden in the Mist, the atmosphere was calm but grim.
> "The Fourth Great Ninja War… has begun,"
said Ao, throwing down a scroll.
"Have Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure gone mad?!"
> "They're doomed," Chōjūrō sneered.
"Lord Uchiha Yuta won't spare them."
The high-ranking officials of Kirigakure wore mocking expressions.
None of them took the declaration seriously.
After all, they had long pledged loyalty to the Fifth Hokage. Kirigakure was firmly aligned with Konoha—and being on the side of the strongest was the smartest move anyone could make.
> "How amusing..."
Terumi Mei, the Fifth Mizukage, stretched lazily.
"Lord Yuta had planned to unify the world slowly. But now that Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure have jumped into the fire, it's the perfect excuse to accelerate."
> "Still... strange, isn't it?"
Chōjūrō furrowed his brow.
"Would Ōnoki really act this recklessly? He's not the type."
> "True," Ao agreed.
"It's not like the old badger to move without a solid trump card."
> "Whatever they're planning... it's irrelevant."
Terumi Mei waved a hand dismissively.
> "No matter the cards they hold, they'll be crushed beneath Lord Yuta's overwhelming power. This war is already over."
The room fell into knowing chuckles. No one questioned her words.
The Fourth Raikage, Ōnoki, Orochimaru—they were already as good as dead.
> "Enough chatter."
The Mizukage's tone sharpened.
> "Raise our readiness level. Kirigakure is now in full combat mode. We await Konoha's command."
> "Yes, Lady Mizukage!"
---
Sunagakure – Kazekage's Council Chamber
> "Those fools are courting death."
Elder Ebizō narrowed his eyes at the intelligence scroll.
> "The Fourth Raikage, the Third Tsuchikage, and Orochimaru? Even the Sage of Six Paths wouldn't save them from what's coming."
> "This is pure madness,"
muttered Chiyo, the elder kunoichi.
"What were they thinking, challenging Uchiha Yuta? Have they lost all sense?"
> "Enough."
Granny Chiyo stood slowly. Her old bones carried the weight of three wars.
> "Raise the alert. Sunagakure will enter a war-ready state and prepare to assist Konohagakure."
> "Understood."
Ebizō gave a firm nod.
---
So it was that both Kirigakure and Sunagakure, two of the Five Great Villages, acted decisively.
They declared immediate military alignment with Konoha, siding against the aggressors—Kumogakure, Iwagakure, and Otogakure.
And they were not alone.
---
Amegakure, Takigakure, and Beyond
In rapid succession, medium and smaller hidden villages followed suit.
Amegakure, Takigakure, and other forces throughout the continent voiced their condemnation of the war declaration.
Each released formal statements pledging support to Konoha, condemning the reckless actions of the opposing alliance, and preparing for open warfare if necessary.
---
> BOOM!!
In a single day, the balance of the shinobi world shattered like glass.
On one side:
Kumogakure
Iwagakure
Otogakure
On the other:
Konohagakure
Kirigakure
Sunagakure
Amegakure
Takigakure
And the storm was just beginning.
A clash unlike any before loomed on the horizon—a war not just of jutsu and chakra, but of ideals and futures.
