Chapter 443 - Chapter 443: Uchiha Obito

Aoba blinked at her words, then stared at Tsunade and smiled, asking, "Teacher, are you worried about your own future happiness?"

Tsunade felt her ears heat up, glared at him, and looked down at the Uchiha Obito lying on the floor like a dead dog.

"What does my future happiness have to do with you, you brat? Get on with the matter at hand."

"Don't worry, teacher, my body's fine. Yesterday you—"

"Talk about the matter!"

Tsunade's face flushed even redder as she glared at him fiercely.

Aoba stopped teasing her; if he teased more she might kick him, "Let's wait for Shizune-nee to bring Aunt Mikoto and Kakashi in so we can explain together, otherwise we'll have to explain this a few more times."

As head of the Uchiha clan now, Uchiha Mikoto should be consulted about the Uchiha rogue-ninja situation.

"Hmm!"

Tsunade didn't say more; she only hoped the brat would stop saying things that made people blush.

It was strange. She was the older one, but every time she ended up being led around by this brat.

Tsunade glowered at Aoba angrily, her face puffed up like an eighteen- or nineteen-year-old girl.

Aoba, meanwhile, wore an innocent look, genuinely not knowing what he'd done to offend this slightly adorable teacher.

The two stayed in the Hokage's office without speaking, just staring at each other.

Finally, the silence was broken by a knock from Uchiha Mikoto.

When Uchiha Mikoto entered the office she saw the two facing off and the Uchiha Obito lying on the ground.

She didn't touch Tsunade's sour mood; instead, looking at Obito on the floor she curiously asked, "Who is he?"

"Let's just say he's a rogue of the Uchiha clan for now."

Aoba smiled as he explained, "That's why we called Aunt Mikoto as well."

"A rogue of the Uchiha clan?"

Uchiha Mikoto blinked and studied Obito for a moment, realizing that this face didn't match anyone she remembered from the Uchiha clan.

Half his face was completely twisted and unrecognizable, making identification even harder.

At least he wasn't Uchiha Itachi, this guy was too ugly.

"Could this be the one who claimed to be an Uchiha?", she wondered.

Excluding Itachi, Uchiha Mikoto could only think of this person.

Aoba nodded, "It's him."

"What?", Tsunade cried, standing up from her seat, but quickly her expression changed and she looked at Aoba with a long look.

"I ask you about the serious matter and you don't answer, but Mikoto asks and you explain everything?", she said.

"Ah?"

Aoba's mouth twitched, "Teacher, are your priorities a little off?"

Uchiha Mikoto suddenly smelled a hint of jealousy; even the shock of discovering the real culprit behind the Nine-Tails incident lessened a bit.

Still, she didn't rashly cut into the two's confrontation.

Tsunade seemed to be jealous, the feeling oddly excited her a little.

"Uh, are we coming at a bad time?", Shizune appeared at the doorway with Kakashi.

"Come on in," Tsunade said, taking her eyes off Aoba and sitting back down.

Kakashi entered and immediately began scanning the people in the office.

Already thinking there might be trouble, he kept his deadpan look — until he saw the person lying on the ground; he instinctively frowned and went a bit dazed.

That was a face that felt extremely familiar yet also very strange.

"Kakashi, do you find him familiar?", Aoba asked directly.

"Huh?"

Kakashi was momentarily stunned; an incredible thought popped into his head, but when he noticed everyone looking at him, he came back to himself and hesitantly said, "He does resemble a friend of mine, but that friend has long—"

"He is Uchiha Obito."

Aoba affirmed the incredible thought in Kakashi's mind.

"Th-this can't be possible!", Kakashi's eyes widened, "I saw Obito... with my own eyes…"

He had seen Obito crushed by a boulder and had been unable to do anything, one of the most painful moments of his life.

Uchiha Mikoto likewise felt it was absurd.

In her memory, Obito had always been of average talent within the clan; she couldn't see how he could be linked to the "Uchiha Madara" business.

Shizune, Kakashi, and Uchiha Obito were from the same period, so Shizune naturally remembered Kakashi's old teammates and knew how Kakashi had gotten his Sharingan "as a parting gift" from Obito.

Only Tsunade knew very little about this Uchiha Obito.

She looked to Aoba, "Tell us the details."

Aoba then recounted what Obito had done over the years.

"So the mastermind behind the Nine-Tails' rampage back then was Minato's disciple?", Tsunade's expression was a mix of shock and doubt.

"What do you plan to do with this guy?", Tsunade asked Aoba after thinking it over.

"Aoba—"

At that moment, Kakashi pursed his lips and spoke up.

"What is it?", Aoba looked to Kakashi, "Jonin Kakashi, you were once his close teammate , what are your thoughts?"

"Is it… to kill Obito?", Kakashi swallowed and asked.

"If not?", Aoba replied, "He certainly will die."

"Don't you want him to die?", Aoba asked.

"I…", Kakashi couldn't answer.

His mind was a muddle: first he learned that someone he'd long believed dead was alive, then found out that this dear friend had become Konoha's greatest rogue ninja, having committed countless sins.

How could he accept that all at once?

"You should know, this guy was the culprit in the Nine-Tails' incident," Aoba continued.

"Your teacher and sensei were killed by him, and so many others died in the Nine-Tails' rampage."

"Now, you still don't want him to die?", Aoba pressed.

Kakashi instinctively covered his left eye. He felt that with every word Aoba spoke, the Sharingan from Obito burned a little hotter, as if continually scorching his heart, making it hard to breathe.

Beneath his mask his lips were bitten until they bled; small spots of blood seeped out.

The others watched him quietly; none knew how to comfort Kakashi in this moment.

A best friend killing one's teacher, such a thing was naturally hard to accept.

Kakashi fell silent for a long while, then said, "Obito's crimes are unforgivable. I have no opinion on how he's handled."

Tsunade nodded, "The Nine-Tails' rampage was arguably the greatest disaster since Konoha's founding."

"Since he's such a heinous criminal, there's nothing left to discuss, DEATH SENTENCE."
