"They're leaving."
Nolan glanced at Ororo. The situation had gone far enough. He had no intention of butting heads with Wakanda again not unless he held absolute power.
Wakanda wasn't worth the trouble.
Ororo gave one final look at her homeland. She wanted to help… but she couldn't. She was a mutant. This wasn't her fight.
She had no ground to stand on.
A Quinjet descended from above. With a casual wave of Nolan's finger, metal tendrils rose from the ground, lifting Bobby and the others into the aircraft.
Tony Stark didn't stop them.
There was no point.
Nolan alone was a strategic-class weapon. Nothing in Tony's arsenal could touch him. The X-Men were stretched thin elsewhere.
Charles Xavier might assist but help Black Panther? Unlikely.
Xavier had his own people to protect. And Nolan? He had just outmaneuvered Stark on every scientific front again.
He'd predicted how Stark would try to handle the Sentinel drones.
And built countermeasures before Tony even deployed his plan.
With the mutant forces neutralized, Tony had no cards left.
He inhaled deeply. "I'll negotiate."
There was no other option.
Tony flew over. When he landed, his armor's systems screamed warnings the temperature dropped rapidly.
Even in the heart of Africa… frost?
His suit's thermal regulators kicked in, clearing the forming ice.
"Nolan…"
"Save it, Tony." Nolan's voice was cold and distant. "I'm taking Wakanda. I need the vibranium. There's a war coming."
"We can face it together. Whatever the threat is, we can stand—"
"You think the Avengers can help?" Nolan cut him off. "You couldn't handle Thanos. And what I'm facing now makes Bast look like a street thug."
Tony's eyes narrowed. "What are you up against?"
"Knull. Dormammu. Titans beyond comprehension."
Nolan's voice held no pride just grim certainty.
He had never counted on the Avengers. The only one who might help… was Thor. But Asgard was teetering on the edge of Ragnarok. Thor was MIA.
Odin was dead. The Ancient One was gone.
When Dormammu rose, where were the Avengers?
It was Doctor Strange who stood alone.
Nolan thought of Strange. Maybe he could help. But the rest?
They were built for battles on Earth. Not wars in the stars.
Tony went silent, unsettled.
"Wakanda is still a sovereign nation—"
Nolan turned to him, voice sharp. "And the U.S. wasn't when it sent troops into foreign countries?"
He didn't wait for a reply.
"Still… for you, Tony, I'll offer terms.
1. Wakanda won't interfere with Oscorp's mining operations.
2. All of Wakanda's tech will be shared with Oscorp.
3. Shuri joins Oscorp's R&D as my personal chief scientist."
Tony's breath caught. That wasn't a deal—it was a takeover.
"Shuri is T'Challa's sister. He'll never—"
"Then let him die protecting her."
Tony tried again, "The sorcerers of Kamar-Taj, they'll stop you."
Nolan raised an eyebrow. "They protect Earth. Not nations. Not races."
"You think they'll let you wipe out a civilization?"
"You think they care? Earth has seen civilizations wiped out before the Aztecs, Native Americans. Kamar-Taj didn't interfere then."
"They're still human."
"Were Wakandans acting like it during the Chitauri invasion? They had the tech. They chose silence."
Nolan stepped past him, voice rising.
"They watched the Earth burn while hiding behind walls of vibranium. They never stood with humanity. Why should I stand with them?"
Tony clenched his fists. He remembered. The truth hurt.
Wakanda had watched. While New York suffered, they did nothing.
Not against Ultron. Not against Thanos.
Only when their own were killed did they act. Only when it was personal.
Nolan moved ahead, his gaze falling on Wakandan warriors gripping vibranium spears.
He'd never had patience for T'Challa's righteousness. And this moment proved him right.
"You claim divinity from Bast, but reject mine? I defeated your god."
He opened his mouth.
And exhaled the Ice Age.
From Nolan's position, a storm of supernatural frost surged outward like a judgment from the heavens.
The tropical savanna turned to polar tundra.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
The ground froze in expanding rings.
Wakandan warriors froze mid-charge, their shields useless. Aircraft turned into frozen tombs, plummeting from the sky.
Even the four tribal chiefs were frozen solid.
The frost consumed everything.
Wakanda's army… was gone.
