"Logan, what are they talking about?" Carie asked wondering why they looked so worried about Hannah regaining her memory.
"There is more to Hannah's family than the eyes meet. Call Charles and tell him to meet us at my private bar. We need to talk. It's time for all the secrets to start coming out. " He ordered and Carie said okay and was about dial his number when they heart what aunt Mary said again.
"I can't deal with this anymore. I'm tired, I'm contacting that woman that sold Hannah to my sister twenty years ago".
Carie gasped in shock while Logan's jaw clenched tightly.
"We can't contact her. What if she isn't the real mother of Hannah?" Mr Griffin said worriedly.
" I don't care. Now if we had know, we wouldn't have accepted nor had we convince my sister to take the new baby as her own and it's all because of her crazy in-laws. Of they hadn't forced my sister to give birth, maybe we wouldn't have resort to such measure in taking a child. " Aunt Mary said as she sobbed painfully.
"Are you worried because Elizabeth has woken up from coma and will come after Hannah?" Mr Griffin asked knowing fully well why his wife was acting worried.
Mary stared at her husband in disbelief.
"Why wouldn't I? Have you forgotten? Hannah is not only a contracted wife to Logan, but she is his legal wife even if the man mistreats her, he won't let any harm come to her. Didn't you watch the news of he he destroyed his ex fiancée life with just a video?" I can't lose my daughter because of a person that isn't part of our family". Mary said with finalty and without listening to her husband, she walked away.
Carie and Logan didn't say anything and also left the place.
The two of them left the hospital and entered the car. Just as they entered the car, Carie almost screamed when she saw Charles sitting on the driver's seat.
"ARE YOU CRAZY BABE?" She half yelled at him as she sat at the back seat while Logan sat on the passenger seat.
"Dude, I'm sorry I should have entered inside the hospital but you won't believe this shocking news I have for you. It's terrifying". Charles said and Carie couldn't help but wonder what type of crazy news her boyfriend have for them.
"Did you receive a message from Chen concerning the missing twins you asked him to look into?" Charles asked and Logan shook his head. He had been so focused on Hannah's health that he didn't pay any attention on anything.
"I think I did. Let me check". Logan said and took out his phone to check the message.
He clicked on the message to read and for the first time his heart did a strong flip over.
"Why is the almighty and feared Logan Emerson looking so stunned?" Carie asked with an eye roll as she sat up and dragged his phone from him to read the message.
The message from Chen was,
"[Boss, the alleged missing twins the Fledds are looking for through Gregor is your wife and the governor's daughter Sophie. It's a very long and complicated story. Your father and grandfather also knows about it including your Grandma. That's all I will let you know if I find more.]"
"WHAT?!" Carie gasped in shock as she couldn't believe this.
"Oh my gosh? ! "
"This isn't true. Our rivalry is our in-laws?"
Charles and Logan spared a quick glance, with Logan slightly glaring at her.
"Don't stare at me like that. It wasn't me that asked grandfather to fix your marriage alliance with a simple girl. " Carie said with a fake frown. While she wonders wildly,
"Hannah is Mr Fledd daughter?"
"There is not only that. Mrs Fledd was also the woman that was supposed to get married to the president twenty years ago but because she lied about her marital status of not being married. The president family chose her to be the first lady of Sutherland and wife of president but later the president find out she was already married to Mr Fledd. And out of desperation for power, she had an affair with the president while still being pregnant with Mr Fledd's unborn baby. " Charles said and Carie couldn't help bit being disgusted by the Fledds.
"Oh my gosh, that's so disgusting. How could she do that ? I'm just glad for one thing. It wasn't Logan that slept with Scarlett or poor Hannah would have left shattered if Scarlett came claiming to be pregnant for Logan."
"Hannah wouldn't agree". Charles teased.
"You both be quiet now. Now that the missing twins are Sophie and Hannah. I can't let Hannah be dragged into this messed up family and as for her aunt and Uncle, they'd have to face me first before doing anything to hurt my wife." He said with an intimidating aura.
"I thought you don't love her big brother". Carie reminded him.
Logan turned to look at her and couldn't help but chuckled darkly.
"Says who was forced to break up with the man she claims she loves". He said sarcastically and Carie glared daggers at Charles for being a tattle tale.
"why did you have to tell him?" Carie questioned him, pissed at the fact that he couldn't keep a secret.
"He didn't need to tell me I noticed the tension between you both and I had my men investigate. How dare Gregor force you to break up with Charles Hayes. He will pay". He threatened and the two lovers couldn't help but smile.
"At least you know how much I and your sister love each other, unlike your relationship with Hannah. You are always trying to push the poor girl away which is wrong." Charles said and Logan rolled his eyes without saying a word.
"By the way, what do we do to aunt Mary and her husband. What if they contact that woman sold Hannah to them?" Carrie asked and Charles raised his brows in confusion, not understanding what the siblings were talking about.
Seeing the confused look on his face, Carie quickly explained what happened in the hospital till the moment they overheard aunt Mary and her husband talking and theor plans of contacting a woman.
