Meanwhile, deep within a massive dry dock facility at Itogami Island's port, an aged man with a prominent scar etched deeply into his weathered face stood silently behind the safety railing, observing the black waters ripple quietly below.
Behind him was a sturdy single door, opening into an expansive storage warehouse-like space, lit harshly by pale overhead lights.
Inside were multiple huge objects—each meticulously covered by dark tarps, their indistinct silhouettes suggesting identical pieces of machinery, lined up and hidden away from prying eyes.
At that moment, heavy footsteps echoed softly.
A burly beast-man in a crisp military uniform approached the scarred man from behind, standing at attention as he respectfully saluted.
"Major, we've received two updates," he reported firmly. "The first concerns Duke Ardeal. He seems to have finally freed himself from the wreckage of the sunken Oceanus Grave, and he's currently en route back to Itogami Island at full speed. He's expected to arrive tomorrow morning."
"Is that so? And the second update?" the Major asked, his scarred features unchanged, eyes fixed intently on the dark waters below.
"The other concerns the encoded stone tablet puzzle we sent to over a hundred top hackers worldwide," the beast-man continued steadily. "We just received a reply. One hacker successfully deciphered the activation instructions for the Nalakuvera."
"Oh?"
At this, genuine surprise flashed momentarily across the Major's face, causing the corner of his scarred lip to twitch upward into a rare, cruel smile.
"Finally—someone managed to solve it, huh? Who was it?" he demanded, genuine intrigue glinting sharply in his eyes.
"The hacker who solved it is none other than the renowned Cyber Empress herself," the beast-man confirmed.
"Just as you anticipated, Major, the hacker we placed the most hope in was indeed the one to break the encryption. Coincidentally, the Cyber Empress herself is currently on Itogami Island."
"Of course she is." The Major relaxed his shoulders slightly, the cruel smile settling back into an expression of calm satisfaction.
"That was exactly why I chose this place—Itogami Island serves not only as a Demon Sanctuary but is also the home of the Cyber Empress. Besides, this has nothing to do with predictions; there's a saying—nicknames may be exaggerated, but they never lie. Being universally recognized by hackers around the globe as the 'Cyber Empress' is proof enough of her skill."
"What are your orders now, sir?"
"For the time being, nothing," the Major replied calmly, turning his gaze briefly to his subordinate before shifting his attention back to the sea. "We wait for Vatler to return first."
"Vatler may be arrogant, but he's not foolish," He continued evenly.
"When he first investigated the Fourth Progenitor's emergence, he already learned of that human named Bokue Keikain. Vatler prudently leased this dry dock under the pretense of maintaining the Oceanus Grave, but he secretly stashed our Nalakuvera units here. As it's officially considered sovereign territory of the Warlord's Domain until the lease expires, Itogami's Special Zone Police won't investigate it."
The Major paused thoughtfully. "But even so, Vatler still underestimated that human. Who could've imagined Bokue would be strong enough to completely overwhelm him? But no matter—Vatler won't make the same mistake twice. When he returns tomorrow, we'll launch our strike on the Cyber Empress directly. Vatler, given his nature, will undoubtedly relish the opportunity to keep Bokue occupied."
"Are you sure he can manage it this time, though?" the beast-man asked cautiously, hesitating slightly. "I mean, Vatler was completely overwhelmed the first time. If they fight again, won't he just lose once more?"
"That's no longer our concern," the Major replied dismissively. "Still, I doubt we have much to worry about. Don't forget who Vatler truly is—Dimitrie Vatler, the noble who consumed two elders far stronger than himself, the vampire closest in power to a true Primogenitor. If he genuinely commits his full power, losing to a mere human shouldn't even be a possibility."
"I...understand, sir."
The beast-man fell silent.
Though doubt lingered, questioning further would border dangerously close to insubordination. He wisely decided to keep his concerns to himself.
❁❁❁❁
Dawn slowly broke, putting an end to one of the longest nights in Yukina's life.
From just past midnight until after three in the morning, she'd endured unending waves of passion.
In the end, her consciousness had mercifully faded, her body depleted entirely, collapsing after only managing a pitiful record against Nagisa's relentless enthusiasm.
Yukina vaguely recalled achieving her last feeble point moments before succumbing to exhaustion.
When she finally awoke, daylight poured softly through the curtains, and the wall clock displayed a little past seven. The apartment, after a tumultuous night, had finally returned to a fragile peace, though the scent of their nightly escapades still hung thickly in the air.
Slowly, Yukina blinked, staring up at the ceiling. Her head was a hazy blur, her entire body tingling with fatigue. After a few moments, she turned her head slightly to the side.
Beside her, leaning gently against the headboard, Nagisa sat entwined in Bokue's arms. She rested her rosy, flushed cheek comfortably against his chest, her breathing matched harmoniously to his own.
From their tranquil expressions, it was hard to tell whether they'd only just fallen asleep or if they'd been awake this whole time. Yukina couldn't help but wonder anxiously: had they continued without pause from the moment she'd fainted, all the way until now?
The absurdity of the thought made Yukina feel faint again.
If only she had glasses like in a certain kind of manga, showing a numerical count overhead, perhaps she'd have glimpsed a shockingly high score hovering innocently over Nagisa's head.
"Senpai... Nagisa... you two..." Yukina murmured weakly, testing the waters carefully.
Immediately hearing her voice, Nagisa perked up joyfully, gazing warmly at Yukina.
"Yukina-chan, you're finally awake! I was worried when you fainted earlier—sorry about that. Here, you can switch with me now~"
Cheerfully, Nagisa lifted herself away from Bokue. But as the two parted, Yukina clearly saw something truly scandalous unfold—akin to a hot slice of pizza in a cheesy TV commercial, thick strings stretching between them, refusing to break as they separated.
Yukina's eyes widened, stunned and speechless at this deeply embarrassing sight.
However, before she could fully process the scene, Nagisa was already guiding her forward, gently pushing her into Bokue's embrace.
"There you go, Yukina-chan~ it's your turn now. I'm feeling a bit tired myself—I'll just get something to drink and rest a bit~"
"Wait... I..." Yukina protested feebly, cheeks flaming hotly.
Suddenly—
In the bedroom heavy with the scent of their passion, a vivid purple teleportation circle, adorned with intricate chain-like symbols, appeared without warning in midair.
From it stepped a petite figure in elegant black high heels, followed promptly by the distinctive black gothic-lolita dress, dainty umbrella held casually in hand.
An instantly recognizable voice cut sharply through the air—
"Are you awake yet? This is urgent—there's something we need to discuss immediate—"
Her words cut off abruptly as Natsuki Minamiya opened her eyes and took in the shocking, debauched scene before her.
The unmistakably thick scent of last night's indulgences permeated her senses.
The legendary Witch of the Void, rarely shaken by anything, stared dumbfoundedly, the corners of her eyes twitching involuntarily.
Had she teleported to the wrong place?
Or perhaps the spell had malfunctioned?
What kind of absurdity was she witnessing right now??
