The interview hadn't taken long, and once it was over, Jaden drove them back home. The ride was quiet, filled only with the hum of the engine and the faint rush of wind against the windows. When they finally stepped inside, Kaelith immediately sank into his chair with a heavy exhale, pulling out his phone almost absentmindedly.
The screen lit up—several missed calls from Leonhardt. Kaelith's brows drew together as he stared at the name, hesitation flickering in his eyes. After a pause, he looked toward Jaden.
"So," Kaelith began, his voice low and uncertain, "you said earlier that it wouldn't be right for me to stay away from Leonhardt if I wasn't going to terminate the pregnancy. But what about now? I'm afraid… I don't think I'll be able to keep it from him if I see him. Do you think I should stay away from him for now?"
