Chapter 292: Douluo Developments – Final Chapter

As three first level gods returning to the Divine Realm, Ye Wen was permitted to bring more people with him than just his immediate family. Of his six children, only Ye Tianchen was married, his wives being Ye Lingling and Ning Rongrong; however, the strength required to be true cultivators made conceiving a child difficult, so they remained childless. Ye Wen had hoped for a grandchild, but no luck thus far.

In leaving certain family members behind, Ye Wen had considered everything carefully. Bibi Dong's departure as empress didn't destabilize the continent she hadn't died, after all; she had ascended, which meant she could still watch over Douluo from the Divine Realm.

In their last reform on Douluo, Ye Wen and the others established the Holy Soul Council. This governing body, under Ye Wen's divine guidance, would hold final authority through the preserved consciousness of Ye Wen, Bibi Dong, and Poseisi. Each left a part of their divine awareness in their respective statues within the Holy Soul capital, their presences invoked to decide any critical matters. Other council members were selected based on status and merit, allowing them to handle the continent's routine affairs. However, should corruption arise, Ye Wen's loyal merfolk enforcers would swiftly enforce the law, preserving the country's integrity.

This system inspired great joy among the people of Douluo. Their anticipated eternal king had come, a divine ruler of wisdom and strength.

The Divine Realm

In a flash of white light, Ye Wen felt his feet settle on solid ground. Beneath him lay a vast array of divine symbols, surrounded by luxurious white jade structures. Poseidon, now resembling a jolly elder with a big beard, greeted Ye Wen with a smile.

"Welc "

Before Poseidon could finish, Ye Wen punched him in the face, causing his eyes to bulge with shock.

Poseidon raised his hands in defense, but Ye Wen had already pulled back, standing firmly.

"That punch was for my three wives, and I trust you understand why. If you have a problem, I'm happy to go again."

Poseidon, slightly chagrined, mumbled and rubbed his aching cheek. While he could be a prankster, he understood when he had crossed a line.

"Fine, fine," he muttered. "Can't believe you'd hit an old man... Anyway, consider it water under the bridge. I've got my sights set on some cosmic sightseeing anyway."

Poseidon tossed Ye Wen a scroll. "This has all the basics of divine living review it when you have the time. There's little else to do here, and remember: in the Divine Realm, power is everything. Don't exhaust yourself... especially not on... your, ah, wives." He gave a knowing smirk, causing Ye Wen's fists to clench again.

But before Ye Wen could swing again, Poseidon laughed, waved, and soared off toward the cosmic distance.

Ye Wen, with mixed feelings, called out, "Safe travels, then."

Turning back to his family, he said, "Let's go. It's time to see our new home."

For mortals, the Divine Realm was an unimaginable mystery. Yet here in reality, the Divine Realm seemed a nebulous region of the universe, offering limited habitable land but plenty of floating clouds of faith energy a clear sign of divine wealth. Poseidon's notes had mentioned not to disturb this energy, as it formed the very foundation of the Divine Realm's existence.

Notably, the central Hall of the Gods or God Council stood as the core of the Divine Realm, surrounded by the personal sanctuaries of other gods. No divine formations, no defenses only scattered structures lacking any unified design or layout.

"This place could really use some proper defensive formations," Ye Wen thought. "But the gods must have grown lax from peace." He recalled the chaotic rift that nearly destroyed the Divine Realm in Douluo's third era, which led to the eventual sacrifice of the Life and Destruction gods to preserve the realm.

Still, the lack of restriction was convenient for now; he could establish the temples of all three first level gods in proximity, making travel more efficient.

Ye Wen's arrival did attract the interest of many gods, though the immortal gods showed little concern. The four god kings, however, were quick to take note.

"The new Sea God has arrived?" said Destruction, noting Poseidon's departure. "I hope he left proper instructions this time. It'd be troublesome if anything goes awry."

The Life God Queen, with her gentle smile, replied, "Relax, my love. Poseidon may be carefree, but he always manages the essentials. Let's give them a chance to settle before summoning them."

The Good and Evil Gods nodded in agreement, and soon the newcomers were called to the council.

When Ye Wen, Bibi Dong, and Qianxue arrived at the Hall of the Gods, they bowed respectfully before the god kings.

The god kings regarded Ye Wen favorably. Destruction, as the leader, spoke first. "Sea God Ye Wen, we observed your management of Douluo and saw the care you took. We have unanimously decided that you are well suited to serve as one of the Divine Realm's three enforcers, taking over the mantle of the Asura God. We entrust you with maintaining order among us and hope you will keep the peace."

Ye Wen hadn't anticipated receiving such a powerful role upon his arrival one that provided immense authority.

Mentally, he cursed Poseidon for not warning him. This position would make executing his plans far easier.

"Thank you, Asura God," he thought with a smirk. "Even in absence, you left me a priceless gift."

The Divine Realm arc won't be overly long Ye Wen has a rebellious heart, after all.
