Chapter 275: Shura's Celestial Descent Part I
The Great Elder raised his voice.
"Follow my lead, everyone use that move!"
The other eight elders immediately understood. Locking eyes, they nodded in sync, preparing to unleash a powerful combination. The Great Elder threw his Clear Sky Hammer toward the walls of the cauldron like prison. One by one, the eight other elders followed suit, each of their Clear Sky Hammers converging around the Great Elder's weapon in perfect unison.
"Earth Shaking Hammer Strike!" ×9
With all their remaining spirit power, the nine elders channeled their strength into this secret Hao Tian Sect technique. The resulting power was terrifying, surpassing the force of even a Half God Douluo and rivaling the strength of Tang Xiao's Great Sumeru Hammer at full potency.
Yet, to their dismay, the attack barely caused a ripple in the cauldron like barrier surrounding them.
"This... how can this be?" The elders stood frozen, disbelief on their faces as they stared at the seemingly unbreakable barrier. This Earth Shaking Hammer Strike was their ultimate technique, the most devastating force they could muster as a group.
In the distance, Wang Bao floated towards them leisurely, his expression calm and dismissive.
"Stop struggling, elders of the Hao Tian Sect," he said, voice cold. "Your Clear Sky Hammer may be powerful, but its strength is limited. Your attacks rely solely on brute force. As long as I can neutralize that, you're left with nothing."
The Great Elder glanced at Wang Bao, who stood within the barrier unscathed, with two of his spirit rings faintly glowing, including the ninth. Realization dawned on the elder's face, and he gritted his teeth.
"So that's it, huh? Impressive work, young one, but "
Before he could finish, the Great Elder launched himself forward, charging at Wang Bao in a desperate attempt.
With a clang, the elder was stopped short, staring in shock. Before him, a colossal furnace bearing intricate dragon carvings had materialized, shielding Wang Bao from the elder's attack.
"Is that all you've got?" Wang Bao taunted with a smirk. "Did you really think I'd stand here without adequate defenses?"
The elder's face darkened. He hadn't anticipated Wang Bao's layered defenses. But as Wang Bao had pointed out, this furnace like prison would only break if they took him down directly.
"Everyone, charge!" the Great Elder ordered with a growl.
The remaining elders, discarding any pretense, threw themselves at Wang Bao with renewed vigor, intending to overwhelm him. But Wang Bao merely hovered inside his cauldron, untouched. Watching their desperate attempts with detached amusement, he stifled a yawn, unimpressed.
As the futile struggle dragged on, the elders became pale and breathless. Exhausted and weakened, they could no longer maintain the force they had unleashed before.
Wang Bao cast an indifferent glance at them, then sighed. "Thank you for giving me a clear assessment of my own strength. As a gesture of gratitude, I'll return the favor and send you on your way."
His words sent a chill through the nine elders. Realizing they were in no position to resist, they could do nothing but curse their helplessness. Their names were on Ye Wen's death list, and Wang Bao had no intention of sparing them.
"Here's a little secret before you die," Wang Bao said with a calm smile, further twisting the knife. "The colors of my spirit rings? Completely fake. My ninth spirit ring, which looks like a mere ten thousand year ring, is actually a hundred thousand year ring."
The elders' faces turned pale as he continued. "Unlike most spirit rings, which offer two abilities, mine has only one but it's versatile enough to act as two distinct skills. My ninth ability, 'Sealing Heaven, Binding Earth,' not only locks an area within my Martial Soul True Body but also amplifies the effect of other spirit skills, which is why your combined assault was useless against me."
The Great Elder's voice was hoarse, his tone defeated yet defiant. "Your talent is impressive, but... do you really think we'll just lie down and die?"
As he finished, he signaled for the other elders to gather around him. The remaining elders detonated their last spirit rings and drew together, forming a protective barrier.
Yet Wang Bao remained unshaken. He clasped his hands together, forming a series of intricate seals, as an unsettling smile spread across his face.
"Burning Mortals," he murmured.
Realization hit the Great Elder, his eyes widening as he recognized what was coming. The elders tightened their defensive formation, igniting their spirit shields in an attempt to repel the wave of blazing energy. But even with their Hao Tian Protection Technique fully deployed, the searing flames tore through, threatening to incinerate them.
"It's hopeless... Hao Tian Sect is finished," the Seventh Elder whispered, despair creeping into his voice.
Wang Bao watched with curiosity as the elders' shields buckled under the furnace's wrath. He had to give credit to the Great Elder's quick thinking, but he knew that his True Dragon Furnace's fire could even melt armor forged for Titled Douluos. This was the end.
Meanwhile, Tang Xiao, locked in battle with Blade Eight, saw his comrades' plight and felt a pang of despair. But within that despair, he felt a sliver of relief at least he had sent the other Hao Tian Sect members to Seagod Island before entering the fray, ensuring that their legacy would live on.
As the explosive power of his spirit rings faded, Tang Xiao collapsed under Blade Eight's onslaught, bloodied and exhausted.
