Seeing Caesar about to escape, Ikki shouted to Ace.

"Ace! Go after Caesar! Leave Vergo to me!"

Ace nodded without saying a word and chased after Caesar and Monet as they fled.

Of course, Vergo wouldn't let Ace go so easily. Just as he raised his bamboo staff to stop Ace, Ikki appeared in front of him and threw a powerful punch.

Vergo covered his entire body with Armament Haki, blocking his attack. He then stabbed Ace in the back with his pitch-black bamboo staff, which was also coated in Haki.

The Haki-infused weapon should have been able to harm Ace despite his Logia Devil Fruit powers, which normally made him intangible. But Ace didn't even try to defend himself. The bamboo pierced through his body, yet Ace's wound healed instantly, like he was made of slime.

"How is this possible!" Vergo was shocked by Ace's ability, which reminded him of Marco the Phoenix's regeneration powers.

Before Vergo could recover from his surprise, Ikki launched his own attack.

Though Vergo's command of both colors of Haki was impressive, it wasn't as strong as the CP0 agent that Ikki had previously killed with a white phosphorus bomb.

Even without having mastered Haki himself, Ikki's current abilities were more than enough to handle a Haki user of Vergo's level.

Vergo's plan was to defeat Ikki as quickly as possible, then catch up to Ace and protect Caesar. It was a good strategy, but he underestimated Ikki's capabilities.

When Vergo prepared to strike with his Finger Pistol technique, Ikki vanished using his Rabbit Talisman, appearing instantly at Vergo's side. Without hesitation, Ikki slashed at Vergo's wrist with Toyako, his sword wrapped in cutting wind.

The blade struck precisely at Vergo's previous wound. Vergo hadn't expected Ikki to move so quickly. He tried to use Shave to dodge, but it was too late. A flash of white light sliced through the air, and Vergo's hand fell to the ground.

"Damn..." Vergo cursed under his breath as he began moving at his top speed, determined to finish Ikki quickly.

With his three Magatama eyes, Ikki could clearly track Vergo's movements.

Though Ikki's Magatama was useless against someone like Garp, not everyone was at Garp's level!

Just as Vergo confidently approached Ikki's side, Ikki disappeared again. Vergo seemed to anticipate this and used Soru once more.

Vergo knew that after using Soru, the easiest place for an opponent to counter-attack was from the side. So he burst forward again, moving to the back of where he had been standing, hoping to catch Ikki by surprise.

But what Vergo didn't realize was that Ikki lacked the combat experience to analyze Vergo's weaknesses so quickly. Instead of moving to Vergo's side as expected, Ikki had appeared directly behind him.

The two collided at extreme speeds. When two forces crash at high velocity, the outcome depends on which side has the greater power.

After their collision, it was Vergo who went flying.

This was thanks to the Ox Talisman that Ikki had hidden on his body.

The explosive power of the Ox Talisman hit Vergo so hard that he coughed up blood and could no longer maintain his Armament Haki.

Despite his serious injuries and missing hand, Vergo still managed to stand.

At that moment, Law approached slowly.

Seeing Vergo in such a pitiful state, he glanced at Ikki.

"I didn't expect you to be so strong!"

Ikki didn't reply. Instead, he returned the heart he had been keeping in his storage ring to Law.

Law took the heart and placed it back in his chest. "Want me to handle Vergo?"

"Do whatever you want!" Ikki replied without objection.

Because Vergo was already badly injured, Law captured him easily and killed him on the spot.

Law did this to cut off his own escape route. He knew that Doflamingo would punish betrayal by his subordinates most severely.

In Law's view, this was just Doflamingo's hypocrisy. After all, Doflamingo was cold-blooded enough to kill his own father and brother.

.....

Just as Law finished off Vergo, Luffy and Smoker ran in.

Seeing Vergo's body, Smoker's expression darkened.

If Vergo was really here, it meant that what Ikki had told him before wasn't just talk. Vergo truly was an undercover agent.

"Purupurupuru... purupuru..."

Suddenly, the sound of a Den Den Mushi came from Vergo's pocket.

Hearing this, Ikki instinctively searched for the snail phone and answered it.

"Vergo, have you arrived at Punk Hazard?"

The caller was none other than Vergo's boss, Donquixote Doflamingo, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.

"Oh! He's here, but he's cold now!" Ikki said with a smile.

The usually smiling Den Den Mushi stopped smiling after hearing Ikki's words, and veins appeared on its forehead.

"Who are you?"

"You damn Warlord, planting an undercover agent in the Marines!" Before Ikki could introduce himself, Smoker grabbed the receiver and roared.

"Hey! I haven't introduced myself yet!" Ikki protested, trying to take back the receiver.

Seeing them fighting over the Den Den Mushi, Luffy decided to join in. He snatched the receiver from Smoker's hand and shouted, "I am Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm the man who's going to find the ONE PIECE!"

Law: ....

No one was more speechless at that moment than Law.

He had been feeling serious, ready to answer the call and threaten Doflamingo.

But now... all his emotions had evaporated.

Without any feeling, he continued with the threat, snatching the receiver from Luffy's hand.

"Doflamingo, I've captured Caesar. If you don't want anything to happen to him, resign from your position as a Warlord!"

Law had already learned about Doflamingo's identity from Ikki. The reason he stuck to his original plan was to verify if Ikki's information was accurate. This would determine his future relationship with Ikki, as well as the right to lead in their cooperation with Ace and the Straw Hats.

As it turned out... once Law approached Luffy and the Straw Hats, the concept of "leadership" no longer existed!

"Fufufu... so it's you! Law... someone from the Family should know my temperament and character. If you say this was just a joke, I might let you go."

"Doflamingo! You're still so self-important! I've already killed Vergo! Monet and Caesar are next. Consider my proposal carefully!"

With that, Law hung up the Den Den Mushi.
