Chapter 10 - Collecting Eggs Like fruit and Hisoka the pervert.

Listening to Netero's introduction, I recalled the test questions that Menchi had given me before.

Suddenly, many candidates showed expressions of horror.

"Wait, wait a minute, could it be…"

Takumen looked at Netero with a panicked expression. He clearly couldn't believe his own guess.

"That's it, isn't it?"

Having said that, Menchi jumped directly down from the valley. This move made many candidates exclaim in surprise.

Watching Menchi jump down, Ryusei immediately began to pay attention to the changes in the airflow in the valley. After all, Ryusei knew very well that Menchi did not want to commit suicide. Next, he had to get the eggs of the Spider Eagle. If he didn't want to be killed by the fall, he naturally had to grasp the right opportunity.

Under the gaze of everyone, Menchi grabbed the spider silk on the upper layer and hung herself on it. However, everyone was still confused about how to get the Spider Eagle's eggs and then return.

After all, the eggs were on the lower layer of spider silk, with no place to rest. The rock walls on both sides were also very smooth.

Just when the candidates were confused, they saw Menchi suddenly let go of the spider silk, falling toward one of the clusters of Spider Eagle eggs below. After successfully obtaining an egg, Menchi began to fall rapidly to the bottom of the valley.

"Hey, she fell!"

"Isn't this simply an act of suicide?" Leorio looked flustered.

"No, it is not," Kurapika retorted. He had already figured out why Menchi jumped directly. However, to avoid being wrong again, Kurapika decided not to explain it directly.

As a gust of wind blew up from the valley bottom, Menchi, who was falling, was blown directly above the valley.

"There will be an updraft from the valley floor," Netero explained. "It will push people up like a fledgling bird that has just broken out of an egg, allowing it to spread its wings and fly."

While Netero was explaining, Menchi landed in the valley very easily.

"Okay, now we make hard-boiled eggs."

Menchi showed the Spider Eagle egg in her hand to the candidates.

"You must be kidding!" Todo looked at Menchi with fear. "How can I jump into a place like this without any scruples?"

Although Menchi had returned to the top of the valley smoothly, in Todo's view, this behavior was still no different from suicide. He didn't think he could return safely.

But unlike Todo, many candidates were very excited.

"I've been waiting for this kind of challenge!" Gon's face was full of smiles. This was exactly what he had imagined the Hunter Exam to be like!

Then, Gon jumped down decisively. Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika naturally jumped down as well. Immediately afterward, the other candidates followed suit, unwilling to be left behind.

"Wait, I'm not finished yet!" Menchi looked at the candidates jumping down in panic. They couldn't retrieve the Spider Eagle's eggs just by jumping down. They also needed to seize the right opportunity.

Originally, she had planned to explain it to everyone and let them observe the wind patterns before retrieving the eggs. However, under Gon's leadership, none of the candidates even listened to her.

Ryusei did not jump down with everyone else. He wanted to get more than just one or two Spider Eagle eggs. He had to get as many as possible before the airship left. So, he needed to grasp the timing of the updraft. He couldn't expect Gon to help him!

Fortunately, when Menchi had jumped down just now, he had already vaguely noticed something. Now, by carefully sensing it again, he should be able to grasp the timing of the updraft.

Ryusei closed his eyes, sat on the edge of the valley, and used his skin to carefully sense the changes in the airflow. Soon, he sensed that the airflow in the valley was becoming unstable. Then Ryusei opened his eyes and looked down.

"Now!" Gon suddenly shouted.

Many candidates below loosened their hands. After obtaining a Spider Eagle egg, they fell just like Menchi had before. But as the wind blew, the falling candidates were lifted back into the valley, successfully obtaining their Spider Eagle eggs.

The next step was naturally to prepare hard-boiled eggs. The candidates borrowed a huge pot and firewood from the airship. After filling the pot with water, they began to boil the eggs.

While everyone was busy, Ryusei also started his operation. Many candidates only observed him casually and ignored him. Based on the rules he had just sensed, Ryusei successfully retrieved a bunch of Spider Eagle eggs on his first attempt. However, the spider silk connecting the eggs was not very strong. To avoid being blown away by the bunch of eggs, Ryusei quickly stored them in his storage space.

Then, carried by the rising air currents, he returned to the top of the valley. Ryusei then jumped down again, repeating the previous actions.

After taking down more than twenty bunches of Spider Eagle eggs in a row, the boiled eggs for many candidates were also ready. This meant they had successfully passed the second Hunter Exam.

Seeing this, Ryusei stopped his actions. It was time for them to leave.

Holding an egg that he had specially kept for himself, Ryusei walked toward the airship along with the other candidates.

In order to obtain as many Spider Eagle eggs as possible, he had suppressed his appetite. But now that he could no longer obtain more eggs, Ryusei naturally wanted to taste them. Hopefully, they would bring him a pleasant surprise!

Suddenly, Ryusei felt a chill run through his body. He instinctively turned to look at Hisoka.

Sure enough, Hisoka was looking at him with a perverted smile on his face. Hisoka was very interested in Ryusei, this high-quality little apple. Naturally, he had noticed Ryusei's earlier actions of collecting Spider Eagle eggs.

Ryusei had collected quite a few eggs, yet now he only had one! What about the rest? There was no way he had simply thrown them away. He must have stored them somewhere.

In Hisoka's eyes, there was only one possibility: Ryusei had used Nen to collect them! In other words, Ryusei was actually a Nen user!

Considering how Ryusei's aura was completely indistinguishable from an ordinary person's, with absolutely no flaws before or even now, Hisoka immediately classified him as a master of Nen abilities.

After all, ordinary Nen users couldn't disguise their aura so perfectly.

This also meant that Ryusei was no longer just a high-quality little apple.

He was a fully ripened, delicious apple.

And Hisoka couldn't wait to take a bite!
