The Eighth Tail
"It seems Naruto-sama succeeded," said Akimichi Chōza as he fell back beside Shikaku Nara and Yamanaka Inoichi. His eyes, however, remained fixed on the adamantine barrier ahead.
"Help me up..." Inoichi murmured, seriously wounded but conscious.
To him, this containment barrier alone wouldn't be enough to suppress the raging Naruto. Someone had to enter his subconscious and bring him back.
"Inoichi!" Shikaku, barely able to stand himself, quickly reached out to stop him.
The last time someone entered Naruto's mind in this state, they were nearly destroyed by the Nine-Tails' hatred. If Inoichi tried again in his condition, he likely wouldn't survive.
Boom!
Before Shikaku could say more, Naruto slammed into the walls of the adamantine prison, shaking the very earth.
The gathered shinobi flinched. Fear paralyzed their movements. They wanted to stop him—yes—but they also feared the overwhelming power boiling within the jinchūriki.
"No..." muttered Hiruzen Sarutobi, eyes sharp despite his age. He could feel it: Naruto's chakra was getting stronger, darker.
The adamantine sealing barrier—powerful as it was—couldn't suppress him much longer.
"Where is Xu Fan...?" Hiruzen muttered, struggling to control his breathing. In his heart, he silently prayed for Xu Fan's arrival.
"We need time... Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Poof! Poof!
Two clones of Hiruzen appeared instantly and joined the original. Together, they formed a triangle formation, each standing at a precise point around Naruto.
"That formation—" Chōza narrowed his eyes.
"Yes," Shikaku answered solemnly, already anticipating the question. "It's the Tri-Pronged Seal Formation."
"The Tri-Pronged Seal?" Chōza and Inoichi echoed.
"It's an S-rank sealing technique," Shikaku explained. "Three users create a green pyramid-shaped barrier. It restrains a target inside, forming a solid chakra wall from the east, west, and south."
The formation began to glow as the three Hiruzen clones activated the seal.
However...
"This seal restrains movement, not chakra," Shikaku added, eyes heavy with concern. "It won't stop the Nine-Tails' transformation."
Just as he spoke, angry murmurs rippled through the shinobi ranks. Some had drawn their weapons.
"We have to stop him... kill Naruto before he fully transforms!"
"No!" Hiruzen shouted without hesitation.
Naruto wasn't just the son of the Fourth Hokage—he was Konoha's jinchūriki. The Nine-Tails' power was still essential for the village's survival.
But how long could he keep this up?
Inside the seal, Naruto's form continued to mutate. A second tail grew... then a third... then six... seven...
The eighth tail began to form.
"Fire Rat Bomb!"
A sudden voice pierced the tense atmosphere.
Boom!
A volley of rat-shaped fireballs shot toward Hiruzen.
"What—!?" Hiruzen's instincts flared. His clones and the surrounding Anbu moved to intercept.
But the flames suddenly dispersed—splitting into dozens of azure-blue flame missiles that circled past the defenses and struck the Hokage and his two clones.
"Youmu Ren..." Hiruzen's eyes narrowed.
Emerging from the shadows was Yugito Nii—Yūgī, as some called her—perfect jinchūriki of the Two-Tails.
"As expected of the Professor," she said with a faint smile, her chakra cloaking her in a brilliant blue shroud.
She had confirmed Xu Fan's absence before acting. With most Konoha elites injured or busy, and the Hokage occupied by a raging jinchūriki, the timing was perfect.
What if two tailed beasts were unleashed in Konoha?
Yugito grinned. As a kunoichi of Kumogakure, she admired Hiruzen's reputation—but admiration wasn't mercy.
The Two-Tails' chakra erupted around her like a tidal wave, and her transformation completed in a flash.
The monstrous form of Matatabi, the flaming bakeneko, rose up and let out a thunderous roar beneath the moonlight.
A building crumbled under her massive paw. The shockwave carried across the entire Hidden Leaf Village.
It was as if the night of the Nine-Tails attack had returned.
The civilians, already on edge, collapsed into a panic. Screams echoed through the streets. People scrambled through alleys, sobbing and trampling each other.
"Th-The Nine-Tails... again?!"
"And another one?!"
"They're going to destroy everything!"
A grown man dropped to his knees and wept openly. "We're finished…"
Meanwhile, Yugito gathered energy in her mouth. A dense orb of black and purple chakra formed—the Tailed Beast Ball.
She aimed directly at Hiruzen.
Though he stood tall, everyone could see the truth.
He was too old.
Too tired.
Too injured.
"Move, Lord Third!!" Enma, his Monkey King summon, roared from beside him.
Akimichi Chōza rushed in at the last second, grabbing the Hokage and leaping to safety.
With Hiruzen's removal, the Tri-Pronged Seal dissipated instantly.
"Oh no!" Enma growled.
Inside the collapsing seal, Naruto's transformation completed.
BOOM!
An earth-shaking explosion erupted from within the ruins of the formation. Every building within a hundred meters was leveled.
The chakra form of the Nine-Tails—muscle-bound, skinless, and monstrous—towered over the village.
It was no longer a half-transformation.
Naruto had sprouted eight full tails.
The villagers who hadn't fainted from fear or chakra shock fell to their knees, unable to comprehend the horror before them.
"N-Nine-Tails..."
Yugito, atop Matatabi's head, called out to Naruto with a playful smirk.
"Yo, Nine-Tails... fancy a little destruction?"
Naruto's burning eyes turned toward her, chakra tails lashing.
Two tailed beasts.
No Fourth Hokage.
No sealing team ready.
Konoha stood on the brink.
