Yan Sen brought Cassandra before Aleksander and Luda, who welcomed her warmly—especially Luda, thrilled to have a new sister, and delighted that it was a girl. For now, Cassandra stayed in Luda's room, the two quickly growing close.
It wasn't long before the conversation turned to the recent confrontation. Cassandra eagerly recounted how effortlessly Yan Sen had defeated and driven off Set.
Aleksander was less surprised; he had witnessed their teacher face gods before. Yet even he was taken aback by the method Yan Sen used to subdue the Egyptian god.
With some gentle prodding from Luda, Aleksander finally asked the question everyone was thinking. Yan Sen agreed to come clean about his true identity—taking his students aside to the vast library of the House of Mystery. The moment they entered, Yan Sen began to pour vast knowledge of the Universe, the Multiverse, and cosmic principles directly into their minds.
Seeing their eagerness, Yan Sen spoke aloud, "You've probably read from the library about the gods."
Aleksander, Luda, and Cassandra all nodded.
Yan Sen traced fiery lines in the air, words forming: Endless Family.
"You've likely heard of concepts like Time, Night, Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delight," he explained.
They nodded again, absorbing every word.
"The Endless," Yan Sen continued, "are the living embodiments of these mighty natural forces. They call themselves a family—siblings born of cosmic entities Night and Time. They dwell among us, infinitely more powerful than any earthly god."
Shock flickered across the students' faces.
Yan Sen elaborated, "Destiny is bound to his Eternity Book, recording everything that has or will ever happen. Death guides every soul to its final rest, like Hades' realm. Dream rules over the Dreaming, where all minds are connected. Destruction governs transformation and change. Desire embodies every wish or want, for anyone, anywhere. Despair channels sorrow into mortal hearts. And the youngest, Delight, is the personification of all delirium and sanity."
They absorbed the weight of this cosmic truth quietly.
Yan Sen added, "Their parents are Father Time, the embodiment of Time itself, and Night, the absolute Void that existed before all creation. Together they made all Creation possible."
Aleksander's voice was laced with awe.
"Such all-powerful beings walk among us?"
Luda's brow furrowed."Are they petty, like the Greek gods?"
Yan Sen shook his head.
"Not at all. They are bound by strict laws and rarely intervene in mortal affairs. The Endless maintain occasional contact with mortals, but their parents—Time and Night—are isolated, estranged even from their own children. They exist apart, silent and remote."
Seeing comprehension dawn, Yan Sen smiled faintly."There are even more powerful beings beyond them, but for now, this is where we stop."
Gratitude filled the room as Aleksander, Luda, and Cassandra processed the revelation.
Yan Sen gestured to himself and said softly, "I am something akin to them—except I embody the End of Everything. From gods to primordials, all cosmic forces will one day end with me."
The shock on his students' faces was unmistakable—a moment that marked the beginning of a far deeper understanding.
The shock of what they had learned hadn't yet faded. The Three exchanged wide, tense glances, hearts pounding with a mixture of fear and disbelief.
Yet amid the turmoil, one truth anchored them.
No matter what, he was still their teacher.
The one who had guided their steps, walked beside them through every hardship, and fought to protect the helpless.
A godlike power he possessed, but beneath it lay the same teacher—their mentor and guardian.
Curiosity sparked in Cassandra's eyes, her voice soft but eager."Master, what about the most powerful magic users?"
Yan Sen paused, thoughtful.
"If you mean the absolute most powerful, the top two are divine entities—beings far beyond mortal comprehension."
He began to explain.
"The first is The Spectre—a divine avatar of vengeance. The second is Hecate."
Aleksander's brow furrowed.
"Hecate… the Greek goddess of magic?"
Yan Sen nodded slowly.
"Yes. Though she chose the Greek Pantheon, her origins are far older. At the Dawn of Time, magic itself was pure and unbounded, saturating the newborn Multiverse. From this cosmic magic, the first magical being formed herself within the realm destined to become the Sphere of the Gods—she existed to play with the magnificence of magic itself."
Luda's gaze widened.
"She's an ancient god."
Yan Sen smiled at their awe, continuing,
"From the imaginations of humankind arose pantheons of gods, and the Sphere of the Gods was divided into smaller realms for them. Many pantheons sought to earn Hecate's favor, believing her to be the origin of all creation's power. But as reality's rules grew stricter, Hecate was transformed from the Maiden (an innocent and optimistic child) to the Mother (a more responsible version of the Maiden).Hecate chose to join the Greek pantheon, residing on Mount Olympus."
Luda spoke up quietly, "The Three are part of Hecate, right?"
Yan Sen nodded, his expression calm.
"Yes. They are aspects of her—manifestations of different parts of her being."
Aleksander, Luda, and Cassandra exchanged thoughtful glances, absorbing the complexity.
Then Cassandra's brow furrowed as she asked softly,"Then how did the Crone aspect come to be?"
His voice lowered, laced with a somber tone.
"Hecate was meant to marry Hades—the king of the underworld and god of death. When mortals perceived her immense power, they sought to steal it. Summoned through ritual, she was bound and imprisoned for eons, trapped with no escape."
The students leaned in as Yan Sen continued."After years of solitude, Hades informed her he had taken a new bride and that she was no longer welcome on Olympus. Enraged, Hecate shattered her bonds and confronted the Olympian gods. Though she spared them once, she warned that any future defiance would be met with total annihilation. At this moment a new dominant aspect of Hecate was born- The Crone. The Crone was pure evil who wanted nothing but suffering to be felt by every being in existence."
Aleksander muttered in disbelief,
"What… were they fools?"
Luda's smile faded, disappointment darkening her eyes."I always thought Hades was better than the others."
Cassandra's voice was soft, full of sympathy.
"What happened next? Did she take her revenge?"
Yan Sen sighed deeply.
"She was broken by betrayal and imprisonment. In her despair, she bestowed dark magic upon Earth's magicians, hoping they would consume themselves with it—an act of bitter sacrifice."
The weight of the revelation hung heavily in the air, the students absorbing the tragic depth behind one of magic's greatest beings.
Yan Sen shifted the conversation, his tone steady and measured.
"Humans who learned magic from Hecate eventually split into two major factions: the Lords of Order and the Lords of Chaos. They hold different ranks and powers beneath those banners. But below them, there exists another— the Witch Lords."
Luda raised an eyebrow, curious.
"The Witch Lords?"
Yan Sen nodded.
"Yes. The Witch Lords comprise an ancient coven that seeks to rule the world. The Witch Queen leads them, accompanied by her three brothers and two sisters."
All three students grew serious, sensing the weight behind the name. Yan Sen continued,
"They are immortal and wield profound mastery over magic. They date back to the era when Hecate herself was imprisoned. Among the siblings, three have fully embraced dark magic, while the other two focus on pure magic. For now, they lie dormant."
Aleksander's curiosity broke the silence.
"What are their names?"
Yan Sen replied clearly,"Talona, the Witch Queen. Ravenna, the Dark Fey, and Freya, the Ice Queen, among the sisters. Their brothers are Abomination, the Blood King; Durza, the Shade; and Olorin, the White Wizard. Of these, Freya and Olorin lean toward good, while the rest are dangerously malevolent."
The three students carefully committed the names to memory, knowing these powerful figures might one day shape their fate.
