Chapter 467: The Church of the Goddess of Light!
In these desperate times, people craved faith, something to cling to in their hearts.
Thus, the strongest religious order in human history was founded the Church of the Goddess of Light.
And the deity they worshipped? None other than Keli, the daughter of the Creation God!
No one was more fitting for this position than her.
The founder of the Church of the Goddess of Light was Bai Yue, Ye Cheng's adopted son. He took on the title of Holy Master Bai Yue, overseeing all affairs of the faith. His goal? To unite the people under a single belief and strengthen their spirits.
But Bai Yue's true motive for establishing the church wasn't just to provide comfort his real goal was to harness the power of faith and see if it could accelerate Keli's growth and awaken the potential within her divine bloodline.
For ordinary gods in the Divine Realm, faith was a double edged sword a source of power that they could never escape. If they lost their followers, their very existence would crumble.
But Keli was different.
As the daughter of a Creation God, she was above such limitations. Faith was nothing more than nourishment to her it would not corrupt her, nor would she depend on it.
Meanwhile, on the soul beast side, the humans had the Goddess of Light so, naturally, the soul beasts couldn't be left behind.
Thus, the Cult of the Moon Goddess began to spread among the soul beasts.
At this time, the Soul Beast Ruler, Silver Dragon King, was still alive, and as a half step Creation God, she was undoubtedly the strongest being in existence. Her raw strength surpassed even the human side.
However, the Moon Goddess worshipped by the soul beasts was not her.
It was her daughter, Kanna the child she bore with Ye Cheng.
At this point, Kanna had not yet hatched she remained a dragon egg, still undergoing incubation.
Silver Dragon King had to make early preparations, carefully arranging formation arrays to gather the purest cosmic energy, ensuring that her daughter's incubation would be flawless.
And the faith of the soul beasts in the Moon Goddess also contributed to Kanna's growth.
To the beings of Douluo Star, Keli and Kanna both possessing the blood of a Creation God were their greatest hopes for survival.
If these two grew into their full potential, Douluo Star would have two Creation Gods ensuring that even if another Abyssal Lord invaded, there would be no fear.
After all, facing two Abyssal Lords simultaneously was a rare occurrence.
Most people believed that just being targeted by one was already insane let alone two at the same time.
However, in the real world, the viewers were puzzled.
Why did the previous "Wandering Douluo" video show two Abyssal Lords invading at once?
What was so special about Douluo Star that it was worth two Abyssal Lords' attention?
This was a mystery that no one could answer.
Back in the video.
After the great battle where the God King fell, Douluo Star entered a rare era of peace.
Even the Abyss's invasions seemed to have stopped as if the threat had vanished.
Or perhaps…
Had the Abyss truly been defeated in that battle?
Some clung to this hopeful delusion but not Sun Zhongjing, Neptune, or the other high ranking officials.
They knew better.
The longer the peace, the greater the storm that would eventually come.
This was merely the calm before the storm.
And yet…
The majority of people were ignorant.
Three centuries passed.
At first, the people of Douluo Star grieved their fallen hero.
They feared the future, uncertain of what would come.
But as time passed, they began to forget.
They forgot the horrors of the Abyss.
They forgot the sacrifices of those before them.
Soon, conflict began to brew once more.
Not only between humans and soul beasts but also among humans themselves.
Though Neptune and Sun Zhongjing kept the world from collapsing, the hidden tensions beneath the surface grew stronger and stronger.
And as time passed, more and more people began to doubt the past.
They dismissed the Abyss as nothing more than a hoax a lie fabricated by those in power to control the masses.
This growing ignorance left Holy Master Bai Yue deeply troubled.
Why…
Why were humans so forgetful?
Why could they hold onto hatred for a lifetime, yet forget gratitude in just a few decades?
Why were humans always fighting amongst themselves?
Why were they so selfish?
As he worked tirelessly to uphold his foster father's legacy, Bai Yue began to question everything.
Were humans even worth saving?
For centuries, he had faithfully carried on Ye Cheng's mission he had used the two Creation Artifacts his foster father left behind to maintain order.
But the more he witnessed the nature of humanity, the more he despaired.
Because, in his eyes, humanity was fundamentally flawed.
People were selfish, corrupt, and treacherous.
Whenever peace reigned, they turned on each other.
And if left unchecked, they would destroy themselves even without the Abyss's influence.
The sight of this reminded Bai Yue of his childhood.
Of the corrupt officials whose greed led to the destruction of his orphanage.
Of the city reduced to ruins because of human selfishness.
And so, Bai Yue came to a realization.
If humanity was to survive, if they were to truly defeat the Abyss, then they had to be changed.
Their flaws had to be erased.
Their selfishness, corruption, and greed all of it had to be purged.
Only by removing these defects could humanity unite and reach its full potential.
Only then could they stand against the Abyss.
Otherwise, with their duality of good and evil, they would always be vulnerable to corruption.
They would always fight among themselves.
They would never be truly strong.
Only by eradicating the roots of human wickedness could they evolve into something greater.
That was the only way for humanity to survive.
And so, Bai Yue devised a plan.
A Human Completion Plan.
He believed that humans were flawed, because their souls contained darkness negative emotions like greed, hatred, and selfishness.
If these "impurities" were purged, humanity could reach a perfect state pure, flawless, and unified.
This was his vision.
This was his solution.
This was the Human Completion Plan.
To erase all negative human emotions.
To remove greed, hatred, and desire
And to create a new world where only pure, perfect beings remained.
It was a bold, radical, and terrifying idea.
And, without a doubt
Bai Yue had begun to descend into madness.
