Chapter 419 - Chapter 419: A Dragon Egg

Chapter 419: A Dragon Egg

The Silver Dragon King and Ye Cheng continued diving deeper and deeper. By now, they had reached an extreme depth. If it weren't for their ability to survive without breathing, any ordinary person would have been forced to retreat long ago.

How much further did they swim?

They couldn't tell.

But soon, faint crimson and icy blue glows appeared in their vision.

The space around them suddenly expanded what had once been a narrow vertical tunnel opened up into a vast underground cavern.

A moment later, as they descended further, they finally saw the source of the light.

Two dragon shaped projections, composed entirely of pure energy, swam through the darkness like ethereal fish.

Though no more than three meters in length, their layered scales, crystal clear horns, and majestic aura were flawlessly detailed possessing every trait a dragon should have.

They moved aimlessly through the cavern, illuminating their surroundings with soft red and blue glows wherever they passed.

As the two spectral dragons drifted below, they revealed part of the cavern floor a massive, craggy expanse of rock formations that looked like the jagged peaks of a mountain range.

Yet, upon closer inspection, it became clear this wasn't a natural landscape.

This was the spinal column of an ancient behemoth, lined with terrifying serrated bone spikes.

As the dragon projections swam further, more details came into view layered scales, powerful muscle structures, and an overwhelming sense of strength still embedded within the form of a long deceased giant.

Then, the full picture became clear

Lying before them were the colossal corpses of two dragons, each spanning hundreds of meters in length!

They had long since lost all signs of life, lying in silent decay like stone statues from an ancient era.

Yet, even in death, they radiated an overwhelming presence, an aura so oppressive that it sent waves of pressure crashing toward them.

Even after countless years, their lingering power remained.

One could only imagine how terrifyingly powerful they had been in life.

Then again, considering who they were, it wasn't surprising.

These were the Water Dragon King and Fire Dragon King two of the Dragon God's nine offspring.

As First Class Gods of the Divine Realm, they were true pure blooded dragons with innate, unparalleled talent.

Such overwhelming might was only natural.

"I never thought that after so many years, I would see these two children again…"

The Silver Dragon King gazed at the two massive dragon corpses and the wandering dragon projections, her voice tinged with nostalgia and sorrow.

The memories of the Dragon God surged within her.

As a being born from the Dragon God, it was only natural for her to call the two Dragon Kings children after all, they were the Dragon God's direct descendants.

Just then, the two spectral dragons, which had been drifting aimlessly, suddenly reacted.

As if sensing something, their ethereal bodies burst into radiant light, their movements becoming swift and urgent.

With awe inspiring dragon might, they surged toward the Silver Dragon King and Ye Cheng.

But despite their intimidating appearance, they did not attack.

Instead, when they neared Gu Yuena, they suddenly halted

And then, they began circling around her, their cries echoing softly, like children seeking comfort from a parent.

Clearly, they had mistaken the Silver Dragon King for the Dragon God.

The Silver Dragon King reached out, her fingers brushing against the two dragon projections. She channeled her divine power, soothing them gently.

These were not the Water Dragon King and Fire Dragon King as they once were.

They were merely remnants souls left behind after the true spirits of the Dragon Kings had long since dissipated.

They carried no memories of their past lives.

They were empty echoes of what once was.

"※℡..."

Suddenly, the Silver Dragon King spoke in an ancient, arcane dragon language.

Though the two dragon projections had no memories, they instinctively understood her words.

Without hesitation, they dove downward, toward the two great skeletons below.

A moment later, they resurfaced

Each dragon projection now carried a glowing orb in its mouth.

With a sense of reverence, they offered the orbs to the Silver Dragon King, as if presenting a treasured gift.

The two spherical objects, no larger than a chicken egg, radiated powerful blue and red light.

It was obvious

These were the core essences of the fallen Water Dragon King and Fire Dragon King.

Or rather, they were Dragon Pearls, containing the purest energy essence of the two great dragons.

Though the Dragon Kings had been only First Class Gods, their Dragon Pearls contained vast reserves of divine power.

For the Silver Dragon King, who had lost everything, this was a gift beyond measure.

It was like receiving warmth in the coldest winter, a lifeline in her struggle to recover.

With their objective complete, it was time to leave.

This place held nothing else of value.

As for the soul bones of the Water and Fire Dragon Kings there were none.

Soul bones were artificial constructs a byproduct of the Divine Realm's interference.

They were just like soul rings, something that never existed before the Divine Realm altered the rules of Douluo Star.

As true divine beasts, and as beings that had existed before those rules were changed, the Dragon Kings naturally did not leave behind soul bones.

Their only remnants were their Dragon Pearls, just like the Ten Headed Fierce Sun Serpent from the Slaughter City.

As they prepared to leave, Ye Cheng noticed something

Despite her obvious reluctance, the Silver Dragon King chose not to take the two spectral dragons with her.

He frowned slightly.

"Why aren't you taking them with us?" he asked.

"They are merely remnants," she replied with a sigh.

"They survive only because of the unique conditions of this place. The moment they leave, they will fade away in mere moments."

Ye Cheng was silent for a moment before speaking again.

"These dragon souls may be incomplete… but if they could be reborn, they would make excellent allies against the Abyss."

The Silver Dragon King looked at him in shock.

"You can resurrect them?"

Her expression was filled with hope and excitement.

The Dragon God's memories had left her with deep emotions for these two souls.

"It's not difficult," Ye Cheng replied.

"As long as the soul remains, all that's needed is a body to house it."

The rules of Douluo Star were far more lenient than in other universes.

With no true reincarnation cycle, the boundary between life and death was easily crossed.

Reviving the dead?

Simple.

As long as the soul still existed.

Under the Silver Dragon King's watchful gaze, Ye Cheng got to work.

He extracted the remaining active blood from the two dragon corpses.

Then, he fused the two bloodlines together

Forming a single, double yolked dragon egg.

Finally, he placed the two dragon souls inside.

Done.

His actions seemed simple.

But in truth, this was something only he could accomplish.

Even the Silver Dragon King herself could never create life from mere bloodline fragments.

After all

Blood is just blood.

And creating true life was an entirely different matter.
