Hey everyone! It's Mash, just Mash!
It's been a week since the promotion exam, and tonight I'm in the Slifer Red cafeteria with the boys: Jaden, Syrus and Chumley, alongside Lovely, of course. We're actually here to steal some food from the kitchen until Jaden decided it was the perfect time for some ghost stories.
We all huddled around one of the cafeteria tables, the room dim except for a single candle flickering between us. Shadows stretched long across the walls as I leaned forward, my voice dropping into a creepy tone.
"And so, because he heard a creak in the kitchen... he goes down to check on it..."
Jaden and the other listen with suspense.
"He then saw it... rummaging the fridge... a really big figure, shaped like a pig, and it was chewing on some raw chicken, until... it turned around and look at him, and it was..."
"YOUR MOTHER—!"
BLAM!
Two fist then hurl itself straight toward Mash face, one was from Jaden and the other was from Chumley.
"Dude! Can I go one single day not hearing any of your mom jokes!?" Jaden snapped.
"Yeah, me too, I'm getting sick of it!" Chumley was irritated.
Syrus turned toward Lovely. "Uh… aren't you gonna get mad at them for hitting him?"
Lovely rested her chin on one hand, entirely unfazed. "Sy, this is the fifth time in a row he's pulled the 'your mom' horror story. At this point, he should've seen it coming and I'm also getting sick of it."
Mash gets himself back up to the chair. "Hehe... well, I did get a level 2 monster card everytime..." Mash said as he picks up time wizard. "you said the scare level should match the level of the card, right?"
"Yeah..." Jaden frowned, though he couldn't deny it. "but getting 5 level 2 monster in a row... your luck is really something Mash, and not in the good kind."
"Maybe Mash destroyed some shrine somewhere," Chumley teased, "and now he's stuck with bad karma."
"Heh~" Lovely smirked. "The only shrine my darling~ would destroy is the one in your stomach that worships food."
"WHAT!? WHY YOU!!" Chumley shot up, chasing after her as she burst into laughter.
"OHOHOHOHO~!" Lovely's laugh rang through the cafeteria as she easily loops him around the tables.
Mash, Jaden and Syrus decided to ignore them, "Look like it's my turn." Jaden hover his hand over a deck of cards. "I hope I get a high level!" Jaden said as he draws a level 1 {Sinister Serpent}. "Darn it."
Mash smirked. "Looks like Mr. Lucky Guy over here just ran out of luck."
"Aw..." Syrus disapointed. "looks like you wont have a story that will scare us this time."
"Don't worry." Jaden reassured. "I think I have a story that'll do the trick, and isn't some lame your mom joke story like a guy I know."
Mash sticks his tongue out at Jaden.
"Well, rather than a story... it's more like a memory." Jaden continued. "Back when I was a little kid, I use to hear sounds."
That got everyone's attention. Even Lovely and Chumley paused their chase and sat back to the table to listen.
"But, I only hear them real late at night... I think I was dreaming..."
A young Jaden stirred in bed, the faint sound of whispering drawing him from his sleep. He turned toward the playroom. Slowly, he slipped out of bed and walked to it.
"I'd hear them, night after night," Jaden narrated. "But whenever I opened the door to check—"
Little Jaden pushed the playroom door open then the voices cut off instantly.
"…there was nothing there. Just my toys lying around, my chest toy, my giant dice plushie, my slide… but on the floor, the only thing that stood out…"
His small hand reached down.
"…were my cards."
Everyone looks really curios at Jaden. "And?" Syrus asked.
"And that's it. That's the end of the story!" Jaden said bluntly
"Aww..." Syrus and Chumley slumped to the table.
Meanwhile, Mash and Lovely just made eye-contact and smirks.
"But wanna hear somethin strange?" Jaden said. "Lately, I've started to hear them again, and it wasn't one voice either... there was two at them."
"!?" Mash was surprised. [Two!? The first one is 100% {Winged Kuriboh}, but who is the second one-?]
"AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" Dr. Banner laugh creepily and appeared behind Jaden which surprised the group. "Hey, may I join in on you kids frightful fright?" Banner said cheerfully as Pharaoh the Cat meows at them in his hands.
"Y-you just did." Syrus say as he was hiding bellow the table.
"fuh.. We're kinda on the edge of our sit there." Jaden frightened.
"We were." Mash said as Chumley lift him up and use him as a shield. "Chumley, you're using a stick of butter as your shield, put me down."
"Ho ho~ You all are such scaredy-cats~ Something like this wouldn't dare frighten a elegant and royal silver queen like myself~" She said on top of the nearby wooden shelf.
"Oh hey, Dr. Banner, since you're here how about a draw?" Jaden said, flashing a grin. "The higher the level, the scarier the story must be!"
"Alright, sound easy enough. let's see..." Banner then draws a card from the deck revealing it to be {Five-headed Dragon}.
Jaden eyes widen. "Whoa that's a level 12 monster!"
"I think I'll go to bed now..." Syrus wimps.
"Ahahahaha!" Banner laughs wickedly. "What's wrong? Don't you all want to hear the story of the abandoned dorm at the end of the Island?"
"The abandoned dorm?" Jaden asked.
"Yes. No one talks about it, but there was once a special dorm sat at the edge of the forest. It was shut down after several students mysteriously went missing..." Banner talks spookily.
Syrus gulped. "S-so where did they all go?"
"Well, it's just a rumor..." Banner leans closer on the guys as he whispers. "But it is said that it has something to do with shadow games..."
"Hiiiii!!!" Chumley hides behind Mash who just gives him the side-eye
"What are shadow games?" Mash asked
"You see kids, shadow games are duels played with powerful mystical items, and it is said that if you ever lose a shadow game... then your soul will be dragged into, The Shadow Realm..."
Right on cue, Pharaoh let out a long, eerie Meeeeoooooowwwww
Banner straightened with a cheerful smile. "Well, seems that's my cue to head back. Don't stay up too late, children." He waved as he left, the sound of his sandals fading into the night.
"Later!" Everyone shouted as Dr. Banner then left the group alone in the cafeteria.
"Uhh... you know." Syrus talked. "There is this creepy building I saw once in the forest."
"Aw, sweet!" Jaden eyes lit up. "then you lead us there tomorrow night!"
"WHAT!?" Syrus shouted. "Why me!?"
"Because we need someone strong and handsome to show us the path~" Lovely purred. "And you're the only one who can do that, yes~?"
Syrus puffed and face red. "W-well… if you put it like that… I'll do it! I'll lead us the way!"
"Wait a second, what do you mean us!?" Chumley panicked.
"Relax, Chum," Mash said with a smirk. "It'll be fun. Right, Jay?"
Jaden nodded, grinning. "It's settled then!"
But as the group laughs, Mash notice a glimpse of Dr. Crowler through the cafeteria door as he leaves. [That pervert has been stalking me and Jaden since last week... but I guess Titan will be here soon. because today is the start of episode 5 of GX.]

The next day at Dr. Banner class.
Beside Mash's seat, Jaden and Syrus was sleeping and even snoring soundly. [Hmph, amateurs... we just stay up until 3 AM yesteday and they already fallen asleep this early.] Mash thought glancing at them.
[Well, since this is getting really boring, might as well show them something that I have been practicing for the last week.] Mash smirked.
Jaden and Syrus was sleeping soundly until a finger poked at them.
"Uhh… five more minutes," Jaden groaned, burying his face deeper into his arm.
"Wake up, you two sleeping bags, take a look at this." Mash poke at them.
Both blinked awake. "hhh... it better be worth the wake." Jaden said as he opens his eyes and both of them was shocked. Mash eyes... (More specifically the iris) turned silver like that time!
"Whoa! Your eye- uhmph!" Jaden's surprise was cut off as Mash clapped a hand over his mouth.
"Shhh! Not too loud idiot!" Mash whispers.
"How did you do that?" Syrus leaned in from Jaden side, rubbing his eyes.
"Easy. Basically I just transfer a little of inner energy or something into my eyes and then-poof! it turned white! Isn't it cool?" Mash said proudly while Jaden and Syrus understood absolutely none of it.
"Okay... but what can it do, again?" Jaden asked.
"I'm glad you asked! Now, give me your deck, jay." Mash ordered and Jaden then gives Mash his deck. "Tell me what card you want me to draw," Mash said, as he shuffle the card like a street magician.
"With your luck?" Jaden snorted. "Alright, draw me a… {Hero Kid}. There are three in my deck, so it should be easy."
Mash then stops his shuffle and draw from the top deck and would you know it, it's the card Jaden said to draw. "Ha ha! Even better than Diddy!" Mash said it like cooking mama.
"Cool!" Syrus eyes lit up. "How about drawing burstinatrix?"
Mash shuffle the deck and draw a card, sure enough the card he draw was Burstinatrix. "Yes... The power of destiny draw is in the palm of my hands! I could draw whatever I want!"
"Sparkman!" Mash shuffle the deck and draws it.
"Clayman!" Mash shuffle the deck and draws it.
"Avian!" Mash shuffle the deck and draws it.
"And even Bubble blaster!" Mash shuffle the deck and draws it. "I could draw anything I want in duels now Ahahaha!"
Jaden and Syrus was impressed but their expression is more so of a concerned and worried face.
"Uhh... Mash..." Syrus said slowly. "You sure you're okay...?"
"Yeah man... that silver eyes of yours... is more like red eyes to me..." Jaden pointed out the really red sclera in Mash eyes, meanwhile his Iris is still white.
"It does has a side effect of making my eyes feels like their burning after doing it more than thrice, so excuse me for going to the infirmary." Mash said as he stood up and asked to go to the infirmary which jumped Dr. Banner by seeing his eyes.
A few seconds later he burst through the classroom door and nearly collided with Dr. Crowler, who stood a few inches outside the door, smiling in the most awkward way possible. "Uh-uh… good day, young Mash. Where are you going?"
"Shouldn't I ask why you aren't teaching in your classroom at class time?" Mash said while closing his eyes.
Crowler arched a dramatic eyebrow. "I was just on my way! Needed a quick toilet break, hehe... tally-ho." He walked away and disappeared down the corridor, turning a corner.
Mash just ignores him and beeline for the infirmary, to which Dr. Crowler peek at him from the corner.
Dr. Crowler look at him with anger. "Mash and Jaden, those slifer slackers... Sleeping through another class, making joke in the middle of class and this time even skipping class!? I wont tolerate this, they're going to make a bad reputation for this school! Which is why I'm going to teach them a lesson..."
Dr Crowler then calls a certain someone on his phone, "Yes this is Crowler... I need you to scare some students so much, they will quit the school itself! MUAHAHAHA!!"

At night, Mash, Jaden, Syrus and Chumley sneak out of their dorm in search of the abandoned dorm. They all headed toward the forest being lead by a dirt path and light from their flashlights.
Syrus was leading in the front with his flashlight trembling in his hand.. "Uh... I think I should be in the back..." Syrus voice shaked in fear.
Jaden clapped him on the shoulder with his usual confidence. "Relax, Sy! If there's anything lurking around, Mash can just call Miss Labrynth for backup!"
Mash sighed, trailing behind them. "Jay, don't treat my Lovely like a Pokémon."
At the rear, Chumley was shaking, clutching his flashlight like a lifeline. "Guys, don't walk too fast… I might get separated…"
As they continue to walk the dirt path, finally they stumble upon a large-rundown building, it's window are all smashed, ivy and roots crawling over its cracked walls, from the two stone fence post there was a sign that say 'Forbidden'.
"The abandoned dorm…" Chumley whispered.
"Ha ha! I told you I saw something here!" Syrus happy.
"Sweet! You really are a man of your words, Sy!" Jaden exclaimed.
Mash however was looking around with his Flashlight and saw something, "Hm? Hey, Look at this, there's a flower!" Mash shouted at the boys.
They turned. A single rose lay by the stone post.
"Why is a rose here of all places?" Syrus asked, nervous.
"Maybe it's from a ghost!" Chumley whimpered.
Mash knelt, inspecting the stem. "Hm... The flower seems fresh, like it was just put here seconds ago..."
Jaden was shocked. "What!? That mean's there was someone here before us! That's Impossible-"
Crack. A branch snapped in the undergrowth.
Syrus and Chumley nearly leapt out of their skin. "WAAAAH!! SOMEONE'S THERE!!"
Mash and Jaden swung their flashlights toward the noise to find... Alexis.
"Alexis!?" Syrus yelped. "What are you doing here?"
"That's funny." She said pointing her flashlight at them. "I was about to ask the same thing."
"We heard about the abandoned dorm and wanted to check it out," Jaden explained quickly.
"Well that's not very intelligent." Alexis said sharply. "Don't you know that kids have a way of disappearing around here?"
"Heh." Mash smirked, arms folded. "says the girl who always comes here every night to put a new flower."
"What!? How did you—have you been stalking me!?" Alexis said angrily.
Mash panicked. "Uh-uh... It's from Lovely, of course!" Mash lied, he can't tell her that Mash know it because he watched the anime. "Anyway, even though there's warning of kids disappearing, I haven't heard of you disappear around here."
"Look, I know it's true." Alexis continued. "Why else would the academy make this place completely forbidden."
"Obviously to not make attention to it from the students so they don't get bombarded by reporter for the 'missing students'" Mash said but then gets a sharp glare from Alexis.
"Look, If they caught you here, you guys are gonna get expelled. So it would be wise to get lost!" Alexis snapped.
"Geez, Alexis," Jaden muttered. "No need to bite our heads off like that."
"I'm sorry... It's just that..." She softened, just slightly. "One of the kids who went missing here... was my Brother."
Everyone stiffened, except Mash. "Then if you're brother really disappear..." Syrus whispers. "Then the rumors aren't just rumors."
"So what, Sy? We're still going in." Jaden's grin widened as he vaulted over the fence toward the abandoned dorm.
"Wait up, Jay!" Syrus squeaked, scrambling after him.
"Me too!" Chumley waddled after them, terrified but unwilling to be left behind.
"You guys go ahead! I need to pee for a second!" Mash said waving his hands at them. Then turned around to look at Alexis. "Hm? Are you gonna watch me pee?"
Her face flushed. "What nonsense!" She spun away. "I'm heading back to my—"
"Don't move." Mash interrupted, putting Alexis to a halt.
Alexis turned around. "What is it?"
Mash then immediately grabs his Duel Disk from his Chaos Pocket, slid it on his arms, and turn it on.
"Mash!? What are you-"
Mash then slotted Lovely Labrynth card, her hologram appeared beside him, and as soon as her body loads, she make a mad dash toward Alexis with her battle-axe ready.
"Huh, WHAT!?"
"LEXY! DUCK!" Lovely screamed.
"KYAAAHH!!!" Alexis ducked her head just in time as Lovely horizontally swing at a tree. Then, from the bush a man rolled out.
"How… did you kids know…" The large man stood up. An iron mask hid his eyes, a black hat shadowed his face, and a trench coat wrapped his frame. Around his neck hung the Millennium Puzzle, gleaming faintly from the moonlight above.
"…that I, Titan the Shadow Duelist, was hiding there?"
"A shadow duelist!?" Alexis gasped. "Why is a shadow duelist here!? Could it be—"
"I don't think he has anything to do with your brother, Alexis." Mash interrupted her.
"And how exactly do you know that!?" Alexis was suspicious.
"I'll explain later," Mash try to calm her. "For now, just know this guy's been tailing me and Jaden since we set foot in the forest."
[Thank god I left Lovely in spirit mode to watch our backs,] Mash thought. [Each time I saw her while walking, she would point where Titan is hiding at.]
"You... Must be Mash, right?" Titan's spoke ominously behind the mask. "I heard about you from my employer... Said you had some sort of guardian angel always beside you. Though, it seems it's just some fancy hologram with a personality."
"Hah~?" Lovely dropped the butt of her axe with a metallic TANG! as she narrows her eyes at Titan. "You talk real big for someone who dodge an attack of a Hologram."
Titan smirked beneath his mask. "I'll admit, that caught me off guard which make me dodge instinctively. But even if I didn't dodge, what damage could a projection ever do to me—"
CRASH!
The tree Titan had been hiding behind suddenly toppled, slamming into the dirt in front of the Lovely. Mash and Lovely exchanged matching smiles, while Alexis's eyes widened and Titan froze, panic flickering across his face.
[Impossible. Impossible. Impossible. There's no way she...!] Titan was sweating bullets. "Uhh… that tree was already about to fall, Lucky for you, it didn't land on anyone—"
WOOOSH!!
The "fallen" tree shot inches past his face, it hurled like a speeding bullet. Titan barely moving as his body stiffened from fear. Lovely dusted her hands and straightened her posture, her lips curls into a sweet, dangerous grin.
"Now then~" She cracked her knuckles. "What did you say about a 'projection' isn't able to do any damage to you, hm~?"
[Isn't she supposed to be a hologram!?!?!? She's not supposed to be able to touch anything let alone thrown something that hard!!] Titan's composure slipped a bit, then snapped back with a strained smirk.
"Heh. No matter. Don't you know that a Shadow Duelists always have a way out, no matter how tight he got cornered? It's because we have a little trick up our sleeves..."
Mash folded his arms. "A trick, huh? Let's see if your little tricks..."
Lovely spun her axe in a flourish then plants her feet in a battle stance. "Could pass through me~! OHO HO HO~"
"Hmph! Get ready!" Titan shouted. "Because the trick is-"
"-OVER THERE!" Titan pointed towards his right.
Mash and Lovely both snapped their heads toward the trees. Alexis, however, stared at them in disbelief as Titan bolted the opposite way into the forest.
"Wait, where? I don't see anything…" Lovely squinted.
"Check the bushes and trees," Mash suggested. "It could be hidden inside the—"
"ARE YOU TWO SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!?!?!?!" Alexis exploded. "YOU GUYS JUST FELL FOR THE OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK!!!"
"Whoa, calm down, Alexis!" Mash lifted his hands at her.
"Yeah, Lexy!" Lovely chimed in. "It could be a real nasty trap you know~?"
"OR. It could be a way for him to escape, and now there's a Shadow Duelist on the loose in the academy!" Alexis snapped, but she sighed and rub her head. "Why do I get more headaches from you clowns than from the actual villains…"
"Ohoho~ Relax, Alexis," Lovely sang. "The shadow duelist isn't loose yet, riiight, Darling~?" Lovely nudge Mash playfully with her elbow.
"Exactly." Mash pointed his flashlight at the ground with a smirk. "The big guy bolted so fast he forgot to clean up his tracks."
Sure enough, bootprints led into the bush and into the woods.
"Well, what are we waiting for~? Onward! Ohohohoho~!" Lovely declared, skipping after the trail.
They followed the prints for a minute or two until they stumbled upon a hatch in the middle of the woods. Alexis knelt, lifting it open to reveal a ladder plunging into darkness of the sewers.
"Looks like it connects to the dorm…" she muttered.
"Oh then go ahead, Alexis" Mash giving her the go. "After all, Ladies go first."
Alexis side-eyes sharply at Mash.
Then—
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! HELP! JADENNNN!"
The scream echoed up from deep within the sewer.
Alexis eyes widen. "That sounds like-"
"Syrus!" Mash shouted then turned toward Lovely. "Hurry Lovely! Something must've happened with Jaden's group!"
"Yes~!" Lovely said before lifting Mash in his arms princess style.
Alexis stares at the scene. "Do you must... be like that?"
"I collapse if I run more than half a meter, NOW GO!" Mash shouted then Lovely jumps down the hatchet with Alexis following behind.
They follow the sound of Syrus scream until they come out a door which lead to a vast chamber. All the wall was made of stone make it seems like we're in a cave, there's also a lot of Egyptian carving along the wall, and in the middle was also a large carving of sort. But more importantly, there was Jaden, Chumley and Syrus in some sort of sarcopagus.
"Tch, you scream too much. Now, be quiet!" Titan growled, holding up the Millennium Puzzle. Its glow engulfed Syrus, who slumped unconscious.
"Syrus!" Jaden shouted. "Hey, what did you do to him!? Hand Syrus back, right now!"
"Hmph, if you want to have your friend back..." Titan slowly turned to Jaden as his gauntlet sprouted a Duel Disk blade. "You must beat me in a shadow duel..."
"Huh, if you insist, let's do it!" Jaden said putting on his Duel Disk from Chumley back pack.
"DUEL!" Both shouted in Unison, until..
"STOP!"
Mash, still in Lovely's arms, pointed an accusatory finger. "Jay! We could just crack this guy head, hand him to security, and walk out with Syrus. Problem solved! No need for all of this dueling stuff!"
"That's a great plan, man!" Jaden admitted. "But you're late, dude. Where were you?"
Mash sighed. "Long story short, this guy was tailing us when we entered the forest, and I want to confront him by making myself vulnerable and surprise him with my Lovely, but he escape and now Syrus is a hostage." Mash explained. "Now, can we stop the duel, and just beat the motherfucker up?"
"Ha ha ha! Fool!" Titan jeered, raising the Millennium Puzzle. "This is a sacred shadow game... If anyone dare to disturb it, then this Milennium Puzzle will drag you to the shadow realm...!"
He brandished it dramatically, only for Lovely to dart forward and cleave it clean in half.
The Milennium Puzzle bottom half falls off, revealing to be some light, wiring and battery in it. "Heh. Not only is the Milennium Puzzle fake, even the 'Shadow Duelist' persona is also fake~! OHO HO HO HO~"
"Mash… you knew?" Alexis pieced it together instantly.
"Long story short, the Milennium Items has been sealed away somewhere in Egypt and is said to basically be gone forever." Mash explained. "With that information in mind, It's easily deduced that this guy is no different than a snake oil salesman!"
"Urk!" Titan froze.
"Now how about we beat this mofo up, and give him to the authorities-" Mash and Lovely was about to step up but Jaden raises his arms blocking them.
"Geez, hold on, guys," Jaden said, stepping forward with his usual grin. "Shouldn't we at least settle this with a duel?"
"Huh?" everyone said at the same time.
"Think about it! If I beat this guy in a duel, he'll come quietly without anyone getting hurt."
"…And if I win?" Titan asked hopefully.
"Then Mash beats you up anyway and we still turn you in." Jaden said bluntly
"SO IT'S A LOSE-LOSE SITUATION FOR ME!?" Titan screamed.
"Sigh... So at the end of the day you just wanted a duel, Jaden?" Mash stared at him. "Fine. Have fun then, it's not like nothing bad will happen either way." Mash then sits on some rock relaxed.
"Uhh… shouldn't we, you know, save Syrus first?" Chumley whispered.
Mash shrugged. "Go ahead. It's not like he can stop you while Lovely's here."
Lovely smirked, resting her axe on her shoulder. "Don't try anything funny~ or I'll call Zeus and lock you in Tartarus~"
"Tch!" Titan was irritated.
[Though... It will make the duel don't have any stakes... which kinda makes it boring.] Mash thought.
"Alright then!" Jaden grinned, raising his Duel Disk. "Let's get started!"
{Jaden LP: 4000, Titan LP: 4000}
"I'll go first!" Titan declared, drawing his opening six cards.
"Great…" Jaden muttered as he drew his starting hand of five.
While the two duelist was busy analyzing their starting hands
While the duelists studied their hands, Syrus stirred awake, groggily sitting beside Mash. "Uhh… what happened? How long was I out?"
"Barely a minute," Alexis answered, arms folded. "Now it's just Jaden playing around instead of letting Mash finish this."
"Ohhh…" Syrus nodded sluggishly. "Think he'll win?"
"Of course he will!" Chumley declared. "Right, Mash!?"
"Yeah." Mash gave a confident nod. "After all, no matter what Titan plays or uses in his deck, he won't stand a chance against Jaden's new overpowered deck—"
"First, I activate the effect of {Genta, Gateman of Dark World}!" Titan shouted.
Mash was surprised. [DARK WORLD!!??? Wasn't he supposed to play some sort of Archfiend deck!?]
"By discarding this card to the graveyard, I could add {The Gates of Dark World} to my hand which I'll play Immediately!" Titan put a card in his field slot.
Suddenly, a towering and ominous looking purple gate emerges from the ground behind Titan.
"I'll immediately activate, {The Gates of Dark World effect}! By banishing a fiend monster in my graveyard, I could then discard a card and draw a card!" Titan put Genta into his Banish pile, and draw a card.
"And for the card I discard, shall be {Reign-Beaux, Overking of Dark World}!" Just as Titan was about to send it to the discard pile.
"Wait!" Mash shot to his feet. "Did you just say Overking? Not Overlord!?"
(IG Notes: There's actually 2 versions of Reign-Beaux one is from 2007 and the other is a modern version of it.)
"There is Overlord..." Titan replied. "But the one I discard is Overking of Dark World, Look!"
Mash's face paled when the card was revealed.
"Darling? What's wrong?" Lovely asked, concerned.

"That structure deck come from 2021... It's from the modern era, Lovely..." As soon as Mash said this, Lovely eyes widen in shocked, her smirk instantly vanish.
"Hey, what are you two talking about!?" Alexis shouted.
"N-Nothing, Lexy~!" Lovely forced a smile. "We're just discussing that Jaden will win this easily, right Darling~?"
"Y-yeah," Mash said quickly, trying to relax his shoulders. "With the cards I gave him, Jaden should have a fighting chance against him—"
"Hey guys, what are those cards near Jadens feet?" Syrus pointed.
Mash then immediately look at the cards on the ground. One of the most clear one to see is {Elemental HERO Sunrise} and Mash stomach instantly sinked.
Cold sweat slid down Mash's temple. "…Oi. Jaden."
Jaden looked back cheerfully. "Yo, what's up?"
"…What are those cards by your feet?"
"Oh, these?" Jaden held them up casually. "They're the ones you gave me!"
Meanwhile, Mash was about to shatter like a glass. "Why... are you throwing them out...?"
"Well," Jaden said with a grin as bright as a sunrise, "after some thought, winning without giving my opponent a chance isn't fun. So I decided to go back to my old deck!"
Mash immediately turns into a puddle because he knows. "Jaden, you're cook..."
