Chapter 36 - A New Hero Arrives! Vol 6

"And you, Mash…" The Editor pointed her finger at Mash.

"…have disrupted the balance of this world."

"The other seems speechless and shocked at this revelation, but the most shocked of them all... is Mash himself." The Narrator eerily narrates.

"This… this must be a joke, right?" Mash tried to laugh, but his voice cracked halfway through. "Me? Disrupted the balance of this world? Are you goddamn kidding-"

"No, Mash. This isn't a joke." The Editor's tone cut through his protest like a knife. "Your very existence in this world has singlehandedly threatened it to be…"

"Reset."

Mash's smirk vanished. A bead of sweat slid down his cheek. "…Reset?"

"Yes." The Editor glare ominously at him. "Reset. This world will return to its original state… while you, Mash—"

"Will get deleted like a virus in a computer."

"HEY!" Jaden suddenly shouted, even as the double gravity crushed him down. "If the world's gonna reset...! why is Mash the only one getting deleted?!"

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! DIDN'T YOU READ THE SCRIPT, JADEN!? OH, OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T! YOU NEVER READ ANYTHING, HAHAHAHAHA!!!" The Director laughed while putting her feet on top of Jaden head.

"DON'T YOU KNOW...!?? ABOUT MASH'S LITTLE SECRET...!???"

"Ugh...! What secret!??"

"Jaden Yuki..." The narrator spoke in a chilling whisper. "Shall know that Mash and Lovely Labrynth..."

She smiled beneath her bandaged eyes.

"Isn't from this world." ★

The bombshell of the news struck Jaden, Syrus, Chumley and Alexis like a truck.

"MMPH!?" (WHAT!?) Syrus try to say in his frozen body.

"Mmm mmm.." (It all makes sense now...) Alexis connected the dots.

"Mash! Miss Labrynth!" Jaden shouted through gritted teeth. "This… this isn't true, right!?"

But neither Mash and Lovely answered as they just looked down silently.

"The two of them grit their teeth, as they didn't answer," The Narrator continued. "for they... can't answer that question."

"whistle..." Chaos Angel tilted his head slightly. "Well… this development is rather interesting..." he mused, crossing his arms as though enjoying a show.

Mash slowly turned toward Chaos angel with bloodlust eyes.

"YOU...!"

"Me?" Chaos angel pointed at himself.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Mash pointed at him. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE LIKE A STATUE THE WHOLE TIME, YOU USELESS, WINGED-FREAK OF AN ANGEL!????"

"Question," Chaos Angel interrupted calmly. "Who called me here to clean up Grapha because he is weak for not being able to kill it...? And now is also having a temper tantrum."

"Urgh…" Mash growled, grinding his teeth. "Fine! Fine! You got me there! But now can you help me with these lunatics instead!?"

"Of course—"

Mash's eyes lit up. "Nice! Now go get them—"

"Not."

Before Mash could finish, Chaos Angel turned his back and tore open a black and white rift in space. "Goodbye, Mash."

"WAIT! WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!!" Mash shouted in panic. "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GOING!? YOU SAID YOU'D TAKE CARE OF ANY PROBLEM IF I CALLED YOU!"

"Listen, Mash..." Chaos Angel stopped halfway through the rift, glancing back. "I may be chaotic, but I'm not stupid. Those three? They're leagues above even the gods of this world. And I'll give you one piece of advice for you, Mash. Trying to challenge them is a guarantee ticket to Death."

Mash's breath caught. "…What?"

"This will be the last time we'll ever see each other," Chaos Angel said coldly. "You wont even see me even if you summon me in duel or a spirit duel. So this is truly farewell."

Chaos Angel turned towards the rift. "Though... for you to make them move their fingers... really makes me more interested in you, Mash..."

With that, he stepped into the rift and vanished.

Mash just stood there. Silent. Empty. Trembling.

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" The Director laughed wildly. "WHAT A TRULY REMARKABLE SCENE! FOR YOUR STRONGEST MONSTER TO ABANDON YOU LIKE THAT!? THIS IS TRULY ABOSLUTE CINEMA, AHAHAHAHAH!!!!"

"SHUT UP!" Mash shouted and The Director stopped laughing.

"Mash turned towards the Storyboards sharply, his face filled with anger as he clench his fist hard..." The narrator spoke.

"WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU GUYS, HUH!? AND WHY SHOULD IT HAS THIS KIND OF CONSEQUENCE!?" Mash shouted full of anger.

"WHAT DID YOU DID TO US!??" The Director tilted his head with a grin. "NOTHING!!! AHAHAHAHA!!"

"However, What Mash didn't knew..." The narrator spoke softly and sinisterly. "Is the very cards that he use and handed away... Is the reason why The Storyboards even intervened in the first place...."

"Intervene because of the cards that I use and give...?" Mash thought for a second and it finally clicks, "Is this because of me using a modern-"

"ENOUGH." The Editor's voice thundered, shaking the ground. "All of this is happening is because of you and only you, Mash. And the only way for this to end..."

She raised her hand that is holding a deck, and the deck of Titan's cards dissolved into a cloud of red particles.

"...Is to end you."

A chill run down Mash back as The Editor started slowly walking towards him with a crimson glare that pierce the soul.

"Hey...!" Mash took a step back. "STAY BACK!"

But the Editor didn't even slow down for even a second.

[Should I run!?] Mash's thought about. [No, I can't do that, and it's not because I can't leave my friends behind.]

He clenched his fists. "Then I guess I've got no choice!"

Mash immediately swipe the air as his MD a system pop up in front of him, and with lightning fast hands immediately go to his deck builder tab to quickly create some trap cards.

"You're only prolonging the inevitable, Mash," The Editor said, her tone calm and almost bored. "No amount of trap cards will save you."

Mash's eyes widened. [What!? She can see the system!?] Though, Mash still forced a smirk. "So what!? Desperate times call for desperate traps!"

In few seconds, Mash finished creating a 60 cards deck full of trap cards, and with a click of a button, the deck materialized in Mash's pocket where he pull it out. Mash then draw a card.

"Take this!" Mash threw the card that he drew towards the ground in front of The Editor. "Heh, how'd you like to fall into a... {Bottomless Trap Hole}—!"

THUMP!!!

Before the card could even flip, The Editor already stomped the card so hard that it created a small crater on the ground, and even though it is now flipped up, the effect doesn't seem to trigger.

"Your traps don't activate if they're destroyed before they're revealed," she said flatly.

Mash was stunned as hell, but still grinned. "Thanks… for the information!" Inside though, he was screaming.

He drew again, and again, throwing card after card at her feet. Each time, the Editor stomped them all down instantly, destroying them effortlessly while still walking forward.

[Tch! This is bad!!]

While all of this happening, Lovely who is kneeling in two times gravity, clutched her Battle Axe as it started to glow a silver aura around it, almost like it is being charged.

She smirked. "It's time~."

With a surge of strength, Lovely pushed herself upright, lifting the battleaxe with both hands and gets into a stance as a silver aura become more brighter around her battle axe.

"HM!?" The Director noticed the movement too late.

"HOW ABOUT YOU TURN INTO A STATUE, YOU BITCH!" Lovely screamed, swinging her battle axe with all her power as a crescent-shaped silver slash tore through the air.

The slash flew like an arrow heading straight into The Editor's back, then when it was just inches from her back.

"CUT!"

CLAP!

The slash suddenly teleported through The Editor and continue flying several meters away, hitting the far chamber wall instead. The impact turned the wall into solid silver.

"WHAT!?" Lovely was shocked, on the other hand, The Director seemingly can't hold her laugh.

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The Director doubled over laughing, holding up his clapperboard. "THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL ATTACK, LABRYNTH! EXCELLENT FORM! BUT TOO BAD—I CUT THE SCENE WHERE IT HIT, SO IT MISSED! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

"Cutting the scene where it hits...?" Lovely seems flabbergasted until she feels a bone chilling aura behind her, coming from the woman as tall as her wearing a white robe and a black bandaged that cover both her eyes.

"The Narrator glares with quiet fury," The Narrator own voice whispered ominously. "For though that attack would not have harmed The Editor… it would have stained her immaculate tuxedo with silver filth."

"And so... Because of that..." The Narrator raised her hand. "Lovely Labrynth shall now feel nine times the gravity of Earth."

CRACK.

Almost instantly, the ground beneath Lovely cracked from her own body weight.

She feels as if her entire cell and fiber In her body is being crushed, pulled, and contorted all at the same time towards the ground, and inevitably she was slammed back to her knees as her axe slips from her hands.

"Urgh!!!" Lovely gasped.

"LOVELY!!!" Mash shouted in panic.

"Mmmph!?" (Hey—what's happening behind our backs!?) Chumley muffled, unable to move.

"Urgh! My body feels heavier than that time I lost all my Ka or whatever…!" Jaden groaned, forcing his head up until he saw Winged Kuriboh hiding behind a Winged Kuriboh shaped rock.

Winged Kuriboh peeked out. "Kuri…?"

"Buddy...!" Jaden called softly as to try not to let The Director or Narrator notice.

"Think you can help my friend out?"

Winged Kuriboh looked at the Editor, he shivered at first but then he clenched his tiny fists as his eyes was filled with determination.

Back to Mash, he was throwing trap cards at the ground like a maniac.

"RANDOM TRAP CARDS, GO!!!" Mash yelled, drawing and throwing as fast as he could.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

The Editor stomped each one into dust without even slowing her walk. "Stop this pointless resistance. You're wasting my time."

"Nu uh! We can play this game all day!" Mash insisted, until he noticed that he just threw his last trap card which immediately got stomped.

The Editor stopped as they stared at each other.

Mash scratched the back of his head. "Uh… may I make more cards?"

"No."

"…Welp, I tried."

Before The Editor could even walk any closer toward Mash, a shimmering dome barrier suddenly appeared around Mash, protecting him.

"What the—!?" Mash blinked, then looked up to see Winged Kuriboh floating above him, waving proudly.

"Kuri... boh!"

"OH, THANKS A LOT, KURIBOH!!!" Mash grinned, giving him a thumbs-up. He turned to the Editor with renewed bravado. "Ha! Looks like I'm safe for a minute! Guess you can't touch me while I reload my deck and it shall now be filled with a more ranged trap cards!"

The Editor stares at Mash with an unimpressed face. Then without a word, she lifted just a single finger and tapped the barrier.

CRASH!

The barrier shattered like glass.

Winged Kuriboh froze midair. "KURIBOOOOHHHHH!???" he squeaked in horror.

"Shit," Mash muttered.

Mash turned to try and run away. Unfortunately, The Editor vanished and appeared in front of Mash the moment he turned.

She then grabbed him by the throat and slammed him to the ground, pinning him effortlessly.

"GAHAK!!!" Mash coughed, struggling as the grip tightened.

"MASH!!!!" Lovely and Jaden shouted.

"Now then…" The Editor raised her glowing hand, a crimson glow radiating from her fingertips. "Any last words?"

Mash gritted his teeth, [Shit shit shit! I think this is really it! Wait—no, no, NO! There must be away... just use your brain like usual, Mash! Think, Mash, Think! GO JIMMY FUCKING NEUTRON DAMMIT!!!]

Then it clicks, Mash remembered what Chaos angel said last time.

[really makes me more interested in you, Mash...]

[Sigh... That son of a bitch.]

Mash quickly opens his system by flicking his finger downward without the editor noticing to check and sure enough... Chaos Angel spirit hearts is now at 9.

Mash smirks. "Yeah… I've sure got some last words."

"Oh? What is it?"

"Good bye." Mash grinned and a black ring suddenly was equipped onto Mash's index finger, and suddenly, a swirling black portal appeared beneath Mash.

"Hm?"

Not just him. Portals flared open beneath Lovely, Jaden, Syrus, Chumley, and Alexis, all of them being pulled in towards the portal beneath them.

Mash raised a hand mid-fall, flashing a cocky smirk and his middle finger towards The Editor. "See ya!"

Mash then got sucked into the portal even as The Editor release her grip on Mash.

Now, they are all gone and the secret chamber fell silent.

"…and so," The Narrator's voice echoed softly, "the only sound left in the room is the lingering breath of the Storyboards, as Mash and the others escapes."

"AW, THEY GOT AWAY! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" The Director laughed, she doesn't seem even upset. "OH, WHAT A PERFECT TAKE! BRAVO!!!"

The Editor stared at the spot where Mash vanished. Her stoic face softened ever so slightly into a smile.

"It's fine," she murmured. "Everything is going according to plan."

"Now..." The Editor whispered. "we're counting on you, Mash."

"EVEN IF WE HAVE TO MAKE YOUR LIFE A LITTLE MISERABLE! BWAHAHAHA!!!" The Director raised his clapboard.

"AND—CUT!"

CLAP!

Hey guys, IG here! THE EXAM IS FINALLY OVER SO IM FREE, IM FREE ATLAST!!!!!!

Anyway, you guys might noticed that this chapter is a bit shorter than usual, and yes because I want to address my problem of some chapter being... way too long.

I just want to know if it's bad or not? Because this chapter actually isn't supposed to end here but I decided to end it here anyway.

Yeah... as a writer, I've started to see just how long even one single scene in a chapter is so... I guess I should try to cut them piece by piece so that I can publish more often and more chapter = more views. (Usually.)

Also, some of you all probably notice a random star in this chapter. Don't worry, it's just for something i'm workin on, something extra.

anyway, hope you all enjoyed this chapter and I hope you all will enjoy The storyboards from now to onwards! Chiao!

Oh yeah! I forgot something!
