Melissa's POV
"What can I do for you?" Ivan asked the moment we settled in his office.
I smiled, loving how fast he was. He wasn't someone to beat around the bush and I loved how he cut to the chase.
I didn't want to waste time anyway.
"I have a deal for you." I began, resting my back against the chair and looking as composed and confident as I could instead of the nervous lady I was inside.
Ivan was a sly man and I needed to play my cards well or he would sniff me out in an instant and topple the power game that we were about to have. For my plan to work and my goal to be achieved, I needed to be at the top of the game.
He barked out in laughter, the sound grating my ears and making me annoyed but I kept my expression blank, not letting him see how his mockery affected me.
"I didn't know you came here to amuse me." He smiled.
I pushed the annoyance I felt to the ground and kept my plastic smile in place. "I am not a comedian."
