"Okay guys, does anyone have any idea why the boss has been looking like someone wants to rape him for days now?" The question came from Suk on the morning of the third day after the Athamanas arrived on Cannibal Island, as he watched Razvan, who was walking up and down the beach with his arms folded and muttering to himself.
"Wait! Was the boss troubled?" Citar started blinking wildly as he leaned against the railing of the small hut's terrace so that he could also see the leader of their team.
"Are you blind, Bolacsuk?" Benkó rolled his eyes. "Even an idiot can see that he got worked up by something." The Bokló boy folded his arms in front of him and leaned against the wall of the hut.
"Yeah, the strange thing is that he hasn't gotten over it yet. Usually he's done with it in two days." Achilleus sighed as he sat down on the edge of the hut's terrace, then leaned his elbows on the lower part of the small fence and he also started to watch the leader of their team.
"Don't worry about him, his world just shattered a little when he found out that you were all keeping secrets from him." The figure of Etele appeared sitting on the railing, his head tilted back and looking at the clear sky above their heads. However, his words caused the entire team to fall into silence, but so much so that the lack of sound made the ghost glance sideways at the team.
Every Athamana's face was as serious as if they were preparing for war, even Citar's, although the Bolacsuk boy was the team's on-duty fun master. No one looked at the other, just stared straight ahead, silent as a statue. The sight made Etele's lips curl into a smile, then he started to giggle.
"So what happened? Am I wrong? I didn't tell him what your secrets were." He shrugged and turned back to the sky.
"You don't know everything." Wandi noted calmly as he stepped up to Citar and put his arm around the boy's waist.
"I know more than you think." Etele left it at that. "I'm sorry if this is going to cause you any trouble, but I had to give your leader a little head punch. I was starting to get annoyed by his distrust." The ghost said flatly.
"And you thought the best way to stop him from distrusting was to tell him we had secrets?" Teveli looked askance at the Koál ghost, who then folded his arms in front of him.
"To tell you the truth, it's not such a bad idea. If you think about it." Rahul spoke out loud, sitting on the steps leading to the small hut, resting his chin on his palm. "If he doesn't trust just one of us, he'll tear the team apart. By finding out that we're all hiding something from him, we've achieved that he has to think and choose. Either he trusts our loyalty and lets us have our secrets, or he can't do that and loses us all." The hegin who grew up in the west explained.
"I mean if you think about it, it's really suspicious how quickly you got on our good side." Suk sat down next to Rahul.
"I have a good vibe." The youngest Koál grinned.
"Your personality, rather!" Suk suddenly laughed and playfully patted the boy on the shoulder. "There's just a tiny problem." The Zovárd boy suddenly grimaced.
"What?" Rahul asked.
"If the boss doesn't get his act together quickly, we're going to be in big fucking trouble." Citar spoke up, who had already leaned on the terrace railing.
"Yeah, it's going to be unpleasant to travel with him like..." Benkó grimaced at this part of his sentence. "Like that." He raised his head in Razvan's direction.
"He'll be fine sooner or later." The hegin, who grew up in the West, shrugged. "You guys are pretty chill with us keeping secrets from each other." The boy looked at the team.
"You're my friends, I trust you won't stab me in the back. I mean, except for you, Suk, but I expect you to stab me in the back." Achilleus started speaking and looked at the aforementioned Zovárd boy, then shrugged. "I don't know about you, but we're a team and I know I can count on you to protect me if I'm in trouble. If that means you have to keep secrets from me, then so be it." He shrugged. "I trust you more than anyone in the world. Secrets here, secrets there. You are my family." He explained.
"Don't start getting emotional here, Motumisz." Benkó sat down next to his friend. "But you're right." He added and the other members of the team started nodding, expressing their agreement.
"Okay, now we just need to hammer that into the boss's head." Citar grimaced as he looked at Razvan, who then started towards the team.
"Oh, I think he's decided." Wandi smiled faintly. "He left in the morning looking desperate, now his gaze is determined." The danovus boy said.
"Thank the spirits!" Benkó raised his gaze to the sky.
"You're welcome." Etele chuckled.
"He wasn't thinking of you." Rahul said, making the group laugh.
"What's the joke?" The leader of the Athamanas got within hearing distance, then stopped a few steps from the steps of the hut with his hands on his hips, to see everyone well. Even on his lips was a faint smile.
"Only the grandpa." Achilleus waved. "He thinks everything is about him, again." The boy rolled his eyes.
"But it's not like that!" Suk added, then turned to Razvan with a grin. "So, boss, is everything okay?" He asked, but with this he managed to make the team turn towards him grumpily.
"Now it is." Razvan nodded, then looked around. "Where did the adults go?" He asked again, looking at his team.
"Llyr said he would go around the island one more time before we headed down. Uncle Tete and the danovus went up to the mountaintop." Rahul gave the answer. "Uncle Tete said we sould expect them around noon. Llyr didn't say anything, he just left." He shrugged. "Although, based on the past few days and the size of this island, I think we can expect him around sunset at the earliest." He added.
" That means we're still free for a while." Razvan nodded. "Although it wouldn't hurt to know when the two Mist assassins plan to appear." He thought for a moment and turned towards the sea, as if looking for Floating Barracks with his eyes.
"If you want to turn towards the city, boss, look a little to the left." Achilleus noted, not even lifting his head from his arms. Everyone ignored his words, but it wasn't as if it bothered the boy that much.
"You're talking about Kamu, I wouldn't be surprised if they only appeared when you were already down under the sea." Etele said after rolling his eyes.
"Let's hope they show up sooner. This undersea-walker would faint if thex appeared out of nowhere in front of him." Suk sighed, and the whole team started laughing at his words.
