"Just a little deeper," Alaric shouted into the darkness, encouraging the wolves who had volunteered to help Victor hide the bomb. He dodged a plume of dirt, only to wind up in the path of another one. Wiping dirt from his face, he yelled,
"Hey! Watch where you fling that stuff!"
A huge black wolf emerged from the hole, eyes glowing with mischief. The wolf trotted to a grassy area nearby, rolled over on his back, wiggling back and forth like a puppy. Alaric chuckled at the wolf's antics,
"What's the matter, Alpha, too much dirt in that fancy fur of yours?"
The wolf nodded.
Victor stood next to Alaric, watching the giant wolf, his face a mix of awe, fear, and admiration.
"Fascinating creatures," Victor said. "Is that your Alpha King?"
"Yes, that is our Alpha King, rolling in the grass, snorting like a pig. He looks like a giant puppy."
