Markus sighed, slipping into his newly refurbished bed in his newly created room with a groan.

Already he was feeling the headache from the reports that he obtained from his clone, he had after hearing what it said, delved into its mind just to get a clearer picture which only made things worse for him

But before he would think on that though, he first had to look through his system.

Or more so, a notification that had popped up just after his experiment succeed.

[—Ding! You've completed the hidden mission ~ Hybrid Steps.]

[—Mission: Hybrid Steps.

— Description: You've taken a step into the right path into achieving true hybridization, having by your own hands created a hybrid of two species.

—Reward: Refiner[Skill][B] ]

[—Ding! Minimum Amount Of Missions Completed Reached for System Update Protocol – New State!]

[—System will undergo a 1 Hour Sleep Period to facilitate the update]

" Motherfucker!" Markus shouted, his eyes twitching at the message as soon as he opened his notification.

He didn't even know the system could even get updates, or what that meant for him and it's functions and now this sprung up on him?

Breathing in to reign in his thoughts he tried opening up his Status to no avail.

Then he did a couple other tests, like summoning his Silver Blade which luckily for him worked.

Then he tried using his skills, both magic and not and found no discrepancy from it.

Only then did he breath out a sigh of relief.

Then his eyes focused back on the screen that still hadn't left his sight.

His rewards, for taking a step into his goal of being a Chimera.

But then again, did a human and vampire hybrid even count as a Chimera?

He didn't know and didn't care much.

His next goal now was to increase the chances of his serums working on normal humans from that measly 26% into 100%.

Only then would he start the true experiments, which was to have to put multiple races and their traits into one body, his body.

But for now he would focus on what he had, like his rewards.

[—Refiner[B] - A Skill that allows its user the ability to refine materials into much more powerful and versatile versions of themselves.]

The skills description was brief but it's uses were many.

Markus grinned as he immediately thought of ways to shorten the time needed to tweak his Damphir Serum with just this one skill.

Refining something into a better state of itself was basically a cheat in itself if you squinted hard enough, but now that he had it, his plans would rapidly improve.

So with one last glance of his skills he closed the screen.

He was pleased with the new addition to his ever growing repertoire of skills, but that seemingly wasn't the only mission he had completed as he found two more screens waiting for him.

[— Mission: A Long Escape.

— Description: Escape the Hunters on your tail and maintain anonymity for a week.

— Reward: Fuinjutsu[Skill][A].

—[—]—

[— Mission: A Disaster Waiting to happen.

— Description: Destabilize and demoralise the Hunters in any way or form.

— Reward: Brewing Magic[Skill][C]

—[—]—

The first mission he could understand, the second one though was a bit confusing.

' How did I do that when I've been hiding for most of the time they have known me?'

Markus thought deeply for a moment and then shook his head, there was no point thinking further on the subject—he would figure it out later.

For now he focused back on the screens infront of him, bringing up the information on his rewards.

[—Fuinjutsu[Skill][A] - The Uzumaki trademark art, a skill centred around the art of sealing, allowing those proficient enough to seal a varying amount of phenomenon into objects.]

' Not bad.' Markus thought dismissively, the knowledge had already streamed into his head and he was already proficient in the art with no need for training.

But the reward seemed a bit lackluster, he already had something of similar nature and more powerful such as his Rune Magic and the even better version, Sigil Magic.

But the knowledge gained from the skill was still useful, with it he now has a base and enough knowledge to start one of his other smaller projects.

That being to create a storage item, since his system did not see the need to give him an inventory as it should have.

So while it was lesser than some of his other skills of the same nature, it made up for that by giving him a more indepth base of information to use for his sigil magic.

The next reward though seemed to be better at the very least.

[—Brewing Magic[C]: A magic art that focuses on the ability, skill and art of creating of alcoholic beverages using magical spells and techniques to bring out the properties of the fermented product.

—Known Spells: Arcanic Fermentation, Process Ingredient, Liquidisation.]

And he was wrong.

Markus' eye twitched as he read through the skills description.

' The fuck am I gonna do with alcohol magic? I already have cooking magic and now this?'

He grunted as he massaged his forehead, quickly feeling the relief from the simple act.

' I guess it's not completely useless, I could study it's spells and create ones better suited for myself.' He thought, he had done it before so it wouldn't be that hard even though he had less and less time now with the experiments going on.

But he shrugged those thoughts off, his focus returning back to the news he had obtained from the clones memories.

Apparently things in Beacon were heating up.

With the universe he found himself having been supernaturally expanded, he found that he knew less and less of this world each second.

Instead of the Peter Hale drama and Scott 'finding' himself as werewolf and making peace with it, now things were getting out of hand.

With the inclusion of Hunter's running around, tensions have risen.

Werewolves and Vampires were seemingly at each other's necks for reasons he knew not of, Hunters were trying to fan the flames and failing and at every corner of these skirmishes there were two boys that were right there every moment.

Scott and Stiles.

' It seems even if this universe is extended, my brother still got to keep his spot as the protagonist.' He thought distastefuly.

He wondered whether he could just kill the boy and be done with already, afterall he was on his list.

Plus, his status and skill had done nothing but improve ever since he escaped—it had been 3 days since he had seen his status too though so he immediately tried bringing up his status to no avail.

[—Ding! Status Unavailable Due to Update! 27 Minutes left before update is complete.]

' Just fucking great.' He thought, letting his head fall to the comfortable pillow beneath his head.

He stayed like that for a while, waiting.

Waiting to see whether his System had finally decided to nerf him or fuck him over in another way.
