Markus lunged at the woman holding the blade up at him with a great burst of speed, appearing right infront of her.

"Fuck!" She cursed as she tried to slash at him, only for her blade to meet nothing but air.

" Too slow." Markus muttered, behind the girl who quickly stiffened and threw herself forward—gaining as much distance as she could before looking behind her and finding nobody there.

Her eyes quickly went bloodshot, her head riveting all around her whilst holding her blade shakily.

Markus seeing this while standing on a branch of a tree just above her grinned.

' This is actually fun...' He thought looking down at his hand which to his eyes wafted with his aura and mana in tandem.

He had tried using both aura and mana enhancement, just to see what would happen. To his surprise both energies took to each other greatly—boosting his capabilities to heights he wasn't aware existed in him.

Looking back at the girl who seemed to panic with fear with every second that passed he grinned.

He was planning on instilling fear in her that she had never experienced before, either it be through fear or pain.

But the more he thought, the more he found even more ways to break her down.

" COME OUT YOU DEMON!" The girl finally shouted, her eyes still looking around herself.

Markus obliging to her request shifted the aura and mana inside him to his feet, boosting his speed before lunging off the tree—soaring through the air just as she had her back towards him.

It would have been an easy kill had he went for it, but that would be mercy that he did not have on himself anymore.

Instead as he fell to the ground, the sounds of his feet reverberating through the forest with a thud—he quickly slashed at both her tendons, slicing through them with ease before lunging back into the foliage, unseen.

" AHHHHH-AHHHHHH!!?!"

The sounds of her screams resounded through their area, Markus hearing that grinned just behind a tree.

All the while ignoring a couple of notifications from his System.

He peeked, thinking to find the hunter struggling to stand but to his annoyance and disappointment he saw her on the ground, her mouth open screaming with a hoarse voice and tears streaming down her eyes.

" Disappointing...." He muttered as he saw her sword laid down on the ground beside her.

Sighing to himself he walked up slowly towards the girl, his having gained a new glint as he looked down at her trembling body.

" P-ple-s-se! i-im s-so-sorry!" The Hunter mumbled, her hands trying to clutch her bleeding leg.

" For a hunter, you're a disappointment—you know that right?" He muttered, shaking his headas he felt the early rush that he had felt leaving his mind.

" I-i i'm—"

She never had the chance to speak as Markus appeared right behind her, clutching her by the back of her neck.

"—?!Urgh-" She gasped, eyes getting blurry as her oxygen supply deteriorated while she tried flailing around with no use.

Seconds later and she went stiff.

Markus seeing this quickly dropped her, his eyes holding a deep sense of disappointment he was unfamiliar with.

Dropping to a knee he checked her neck, finding no bone broken and her still breathing.

Seeing this he grinned, having already conspired another way to break the girl in a way that benefitted him.

" Don't worry, you might have been useless as a hunter." He muttered, his face twisting into a deranged scowl." But you'll do great as my first human test subject."

Having said that he looked back at the two other bodies laying in their blood, dead.

Then with a curious glint he walked up to them, stripping them down for everything they had either it be weapons or clothes.

Then he looked at the tattoos on their bodies, runes etched deep into their skin.

He felt that their power dimming each second, probably from their energy sources being dead but he had enough time to decipher them to understand later—plus he still had a live subject anyway.

After making sure that he had everything he needed he stretched his joints, the pain from his previous injuries being nothing but a dull throb.

His body was afterall superhuman, even if that was on the slower spectrum and with his newly acquired healing twig necklace.

Looking back at the bodies again for a good measure and just to etch the memory into his mind, he then walked up to the woman.

Her body still stiff and unconscious before taking off the healing necklace on his neck before putting it on the woman.

He didn't want her to die on him after all, he had plans for her.

After moments of making sure it was working he then looked back with his senses, finding no hunter on his trail with a bit disappointment.

Then after hoisting the woman to his shoulder he started walking, his thoughts a chaotic mess of plans and consequences that would one day reach him from only today's actions.

He knew that after today that everything would change, either for the better or worse.

So as his strides took him deeper into the foliage he decided to look through his status, already knowing the chaotic mess that it already was from the multiple skills he had learnt and yet haven't fully mastered.

After reviewing his status he fell into a brief contemplation, seeing the multiple skills in his retinue and one Perk that he hadn't seen the description of yet.

So as he looked through it he couldn't help his grin, his mind already being filled with the implications of this one perk.

[—Source Comprehension - You have the ability to comprehend the source, a source of understanding that is the baseline of reality. This allows the user to be able to seamlessly comprehend ridiculous amounts of information in a heart beat so long as they will it, comprehending the truth of the world.

! - System Warning - The Hosts Mental Capabilities are not ready for the use of this perk. The System implores the Host to reach a higher state of mind before they can achieve seamless comprehension.]

He didn't mind that he couldn't use it at the moment, no, he could use it but doing so would be idiotic and he was anything but that.

But with the inclusion of this perk and the gargantuan level of his capabilities he was only 5 steps to achieving what he had set himself up for.

To become the strongest shifter in this universe, one created by his own design.

And when he achieved that, he'd return back to Beacon Hills.

No, he'd return back for all the idiots in this town that made his life more complicated than it had any right to be.

The Hunters, Allison and that idiot of a brother named Scott.

He would make their lives hell of it was the last thing he did.
