Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Lottery and Shop

"So, what about red-quality items?"

Browsing the lottery pool, Bai Luo noticed only one red-quality item: 'Power of the Magic God.'

[ Power of the Magic God ]

Quality: Deep Red

Source: Railgun's World

Description: Can control any law, rewrite reality at will, even reboot the universe.

"A Magic God from the Index universe?"

Judging by this, purple, orange, and red qualities likely correspond to levels of destructive power.

Purple: City-destroying to nation-level.

Orange: Continent-sinking or star-level destruction.

Red: Cosmic-scale—destroying galaxies or rebooting the universe.

In Bai Luo's terms, this was single-universe level power.

"As for the points system..."

Bai Luo looked at the lottery. "One draw costs 300 points. Hmph, smells like a greedy gacha game."

Even without trying it, Bai Luo sensed malicious intent.

It felt like throwing points into a black hole.

"Drop rates are a scam anyway."

Believing in rates? Fool's game.

After examining the lottery pool and confirming members' identities, Bai Luo turned to testing the shop.

"Let's start with this."

He picked up a rock and mentally called out 'Exchange.'

[ This item has no value and cannot be exchanged. ]

"No value?"

Surprised, Bai Luo recalled seeing stone listed in the shop: "One unit of stone for one point?"

Same with wood and flour. Each was one point per unit.

But units varied by world. In Bai Luo's world, one unit of flour could feed 100 people for a day. In resource-scarce worlds, it might only feed one.

The scale was massive.

Then the system explained why his rock had no value:

"Because this world is full of rocks?"

Bai Luo's expression soured. "What the hell?! Scammers!"

The shop sold rocks for points—but wouldn't buy his?

If it's worthless due to abundance, why does the shop sell it for points?

Total scam.

"This shop's going to get hanged by angry members one day."

Still grumbling, Bai Luo continued testing.

He tried food, clothing, rare plants—all rejected.

Finally, he killed a passing slime and sold the corpse.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Bai Luo wanted to punch the shop. "Not giving points is one thing—but 0.01?! Screw you!!"

After mentally cursing out the shop's ancestors, Bai Luo kept a calm face.

[ Uploaded 'Starlight Mithril' successfully. Points earned: 5 ]

"Oh?"

The notification lifted his mood. The material came from the fox village—likely a rare metal.

He continued testing, selling small samples of different items.

"I see."

Bai Luo realized the system's logic: "Items need special properties. The more mysterious, the more valuable."

Also, the shop undercut based on abundance in his world.

Stone, water, food—too common, not accepted or priced absurdly low.

But ancient relics, rare monster parts, rare ores—those got generous offers.

"There's something off about this..."

Bai Luo sensed the shop was analyzing members' worlds.

It wasn't the physical item it wanted—but the embedded laws or concepts.

"Oh well."

Bai Luo let it go. "I'm not strong enough to dig deeper."

He was cautious by nature. Even if something was fishy, it wasn't his place yet.

"Forget it. Not worth overthinking."

His mindset was solid—he wouldn't worry over things beyond his control.

Opening the chat group again, Bai Luo returned to the earlier topic.

Shadow's Radiance: "Xiao Bai, I think I know who you are. Adolf K. Weismann. I'll explain more later."

Amnesiac Xiao Bai: "Okay, thank you, Mr. Shadow."

Shadow's Radiance: "No need to be formal."

"Iron-Head, what's your current situation?"

He asked Tanjiro for context to estimate his timeline.

Tanjiro was still training under Urokodaki Sakonji, practicing to slice the boulder. He hadn't met Sabito or Makomo yet.

"So that's the time frame."

In the manga, Tanjiro trained for two years before taking the final selection.

"Got it."

Bai Luo: "No need to worry. Your senior brother and sister will be visiting soon."

Iron-Head Kid: "Senior brother and sister? You mean Brother Tomioka?"

Tanjiro was grateful to Giyu for sparing him and introducing him to his master. But he didn't know he had a senior sister too.

"Well..."

Bai Luo knew the Demon Slayer world included an afterlife and reincarnation.

"Just look forward to it. No spoilers for now."

"Tanjiro, as long as you keep fighting, Nezuko will become human again."

Bai Luo didn't plan to spoil too much. Changing fate too much might have unintended effects.

He liked Tanjiro—a kind, determined boy—and was willing to help within reason.

As for threats in that world? The demons in *Demon Slayer* were nothing to Bai Luo.

With his power, even Muzan would explode from a single punch.

The real issue was Muzan's cowardice. He once hid underground for centuries after nearly dying.

Compared to other villains, Muzan had no dignity. Even the likes of Madara, DIO, or Gojo's enemies had more flair.

Despite his power, Bai Luo couldn't locate Muzan—he couldn't access the Infinity Castle.

Other than that one encounter with Tanjiro, Muzan left no trace.

Finding him in a crowd was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Tanjiro: "Really? Thank you so much, Mr. Shadow!"

Tanjiro didn't care about the exact details. Knowing Muzan would die and Nezuko would recover was enough.

Shadow's Radiance: "Just call me Bai Luo."

Iron-Head Kid: "Okay! Brother Bai Luo! I'm full of motivation now. For Nezuko, for everyone—I'll keep training!"

"Go for it!"

After cheering Tanjiro on, Bai Luo turned to Xiao Bai.

Spirit of Time: "Oh my, Mr. Shadow—no, Mr. Bai Luo, you've won over little Tanjiro so easily."

Railgun: "Hey! Knowing everyone's future is totally cheating!"

If Bai Luo knew Tanjiro's story, then did he also know hers?

That thought gave Mikoto chills.

"Aren't you going to tell us our future too?"

Railgun was annoyed by Bai Luo's mysterious vibe.

"Oh, you and Kurumi?"

Railgun: "Who's 'Railgun'?! (Angry emoji)"

Her outburst in public drew stares, making her blush and flee in embarrassment.

Misaka Mikoto: "Don't call me Railgun! That's not who I am!"

"Turns out, usernames can be changed."

Bai Luo: "How about... Bilibili Zap Girl?"

Misaka: "What kind of nickname is that?!"

Bai Luo's inside knowledge made her feel powerless.

Knowing she was a fictional character, Mikoto began questioning everything.

"You'll meet someone one day—that's the nickname he gives you."

Bai Luo: "Also, you're a textbook tsundere in your story."

Misaka: "I'LL KILL YOU! Who's a tsundere?! What have you even seen?!"

She was starting to think she might be comic relief.

Xiao Bai: "Um... can we get back to my stuff now?"

Bai Luo: "Oh, you changed your name? Why not use your real one?"

Xiao Bai: "Uh... too long?"

"Fair. But your name overlaps with mine, so how about 'Yashiro Isana'? That's what you were meant to be called."

Yashiro Isana: "Really?"

Spirit of Time: "That's a bit casual, isn't it?"

Yashiro: "Ahaha, it's a suggestion from Brother Bai Luo."

Railgun: "I see it now—these two are the gullible one and the airhead."

Yashiro: "Wait, does that mean me? (Scratches head)"

In the *K* world, Yashiro pulled his foot from the rubble of the equipment room, coughing from the dust.

'Airhead, huh...'

He didn't mind.

A kind-hearted, easygoing protagonist to the core.

"Yashiro, your situation is a bit special."

Bai Luo then shared what he knew about the *K* series and what might be coming for Yashiro in the near future.
