Chapter 238 - chapter 38

"Not dead?" Yan raised her eyebrows and flared her nose while turning to Hamar.

Hamar held up his hand, "I know it looks dead...and even with a quick sense it may seem dead but trust me, there's something deep down that's not quite dead."

"Something deep down...could it be done sort of core?"

Hamar squinted while looking deep into the mass of flesh, "I'm not sure, but I'm willing to check. It's better to just get it out of the way than let whatever it is grow. Just, be ready. Well...one question."

"Hmm?"

"How much recovered are you? You must have pushed yourself much like myself, can you use strong formations or abilities?"

"No, I pushed myself too far. I could defend myself and you against a low level cultivator for a moment or escape but that's the limit."

"...I see. Keep your power then, sit here and recover. I'll do it my way, you will only use abilities if it is completely needed."

Yan nodded and sat down cross-legged. She held out her hands and created a base formation, from which she could morph into a variety of formations.

"I'm ready." Yan opened one eye, "So that means go now, find that alive piece."

Hamar nodded and grabbed his long hair, putting it into a bun. He tied it up then he released a piece of cloth and his robes fell down.

"W-What are you doing?!" Yan snuck a peek and saw Hamar taking off his clothes in front of her. Luckily he was turned around and she only saw his back.

Hamar looked back, "I barely have enough aura to keep my injuries stable, I'll need to use my body and strength to crawl through the flesh...hence removing my clothes so it doesn't snag."

Yan kept her eyes squeezed tightly, "Well get it over and done with!"

Hamar covered his mouth and snickered lightly watching Yan getting embarrassed and blushing. But as he settled, he became serious and held his Sword Soul.

'And my mental energy is being used to keep my aura at a stable level, even now...' Hamar continued as he simply walked to absorb mana with his mental energy and transmute it into aura, 'meaning I can't even use Hou's laws too easily'

Hamar held up his Sword Soul and felt the remnants laws remaining inside it. Initially he assumed it to be empty after using up the solar laws but now that he looked carefully there was still metal laws deep down.

He closed his eye and imagined his blade shortening to a blade, as he did the Sword Soul turned into a small knife which then turned physical from the small amount of metal laws.

He shifted the sword in his hands a moment before concluding the laws would last half an hour, 'That's enough'

He dug through the flesh, making one large incision and slowly peeling back layers of muscle deeper and deeper. As he cut through, he crawled into the pit of flesh himself, getting covered in blood and pus.

Initially he flinched and almost puked but now he was acclimated and used his limited time to dig deeper.

15 minutes

He hit a bone, and had to move around it.

25 minutes

Hamar breathed roughly and wiped his forehead from sweat, "only a few more minutes..." Before he thought deeply and wasted time he continued to slice deeper.

28 minutes.

Hamar broke through and after stabbing again, his blade had resistance initially but then it receded. He had broken into empty space. His eye slit up and a burst strength overcame him.

He dragged towards himself and created a flap, of which he squeezed through. He fell down, falling for a few moments and dropping his blade.

29 minutes.

He hit the ground with a plap as blood splashed. He looked at his hands where he noticed he was in a thin layer of blood.

Then he scanned with his eyes, looking for his blade. "Huh? Where is it?"

29 minutes, 50 seconds

Hamar rubbed the back of his head until his intuition flared. Despite his mental energy going to absorbing mana constantly and reducing his thinking power, his intuition remained sharp.

He quickly rolled sideways and saw his Sword Soul knife fall down from the sky. Just before it hit where his head would have been, it dissipated and became ethereal.

"Close one," after a sigh of relief he noted, "times up, just myself now." He stood up and squinted while looking into the darkness.

He had enhanced sight from his body reformations but there was so little light coming from the miniscule hole Hamar had made that he could barely see.

He became stuck for a moment as he utilised his limited mental energy to think. He had to multitask while continuing to use mental energy to keep his aura replenishing while also healing him.

After a few moments, thoughts clashed and a solution came to be. He smirked and made a cocky neck crack.

Then he listened in carefully, using the sound from his neck cracking bouncing off the walls to locate himself. After that sounds stopped, he clapped.

He clapped for a few minutes while he again used his limited mental energy to create a mental map of the cavern of flesh he was in.

"Round opening with two holes? If this is a mutated body...and if this is the stomach...then, that would be the intestines and that the mouth"

Hamar thought back to the man he fought, the man he was now in. He recalled how he looked, and as he did he came to a realisation.

After each attack, there was a fantastic violet light coming from his chest. At the time, be didn't have a chance to think about it. But now, he assumed that was what he was now sensing to be 'alive' or...not dead.

"I'll climb through the oesophagus and down the windpipe into he lungs. Then I should be able to get into the body cavity without needing to break through any material."
