Chapter 237 - chapter 37

His eyes fluttered open , "ughh" a sharp pain caused Hamar to touch his head. Adjusting to the bright light, he opened his eyes and sat up.

"The saviour is awake!"

Hamar turned and saw the group of mortals he was protecting, and in that group near the back was Uncle Wang. Hamar reached out but before he could say anything, the entire group bowed deeply to the floor in complete silence.

Hamar felt like his voice was stuck and he stopped his hand. Instead he stood up and warmed up his body, which was still messed up from his fight. He looked to his side where Yan was and lightly moved her, "I'll let you heal" then he turned back around.

Throwing out his hand, Hamar summoned his Sword Soul which flickered from the ground and repeated within Hamar's grasp. He felt the sword and instantly could tell it had used up all the solar laws he had from Hou. 'Sorry Hou, I'll repay you one day...'.

"Where...is the enemy, where did he fall?" Hamar projected his voice out loud, wanting to confirm his safety.

One of the mortals ran over and kept his eyes to the ground, "Saviour, I can help you!" Hamar looked down, inspecting the fellow who had offered to help but instead of affirming him he stepped forward. He patted the man's back as he walked past him and into the crowd.

As he did, the mortals would move out of the way as to not opposed him. Then nearer to the back, Hamar put his hand on and older man's back. The man was still prostrate and dare not to look up, Hamar gently spoke, "Stand up and look,"

And so, the man did as he was told and stood up, he looked into Hamar's eyes. His eyes began to water, "Wang Hao...Hamar," he threw his arms around Hamar, "Thank you!" Hamar glared at those around with authority rather than anger, then he walked with Uncle Wang back to the man who had offered to bring Hamar to the body.

"Bring me there," then he turned to the mortals who were still in reverence, "Tend to my companion carefully, once she wakes tell her to come to me!"

With that, he left to find the body of the enemy he had fought his all to defeat, with the guide of a mortal man and Uncle Wang in tow.

***

A lake. A vast expanse of green fleshy skin. A rotten meat stench and sticky pus flowing from enlarged pores.

Hamar had his hand over Uncle Wang's eyes, "So this is what's left, huh," he turned Uncle Wang around and pushed in lightly, "Go back and wait a little distance away"

Hamar fought himself not to gag, his enhanced senses made the experience much worse than mortals. More importantly, deep down Hamar could sense the lake of warped flesh was not quite dead. He was familiar with death laws from the death dragon he had absorbed and so he could sense it. There was a deep layer of death laws but underneath it hid something not quite dead. "Dangerous..." Hamar tapped the flesh with his foot.

Then he looked into the sky and whispered to himself, 'Yan...wake up quick."

On the other side of the shadowy ring that Zhangfu had summoned, there was a person. A person clad in dark robes and a sinister creepy smile.

"So it is done...Hamar, you..." The man ran his hand through his course black hair and sipped a portion of air.

He stood up and walked over to a door, and drastically swung it open. Exposing himself to a stormy night sky worth rain pouring down. The man was illuminated by the moon, in which one would be able to see his...odd features. Pale white skin, blood red eyes, sharp fangs...

A member of the vampire clan!

As he took a deep breath of the slightly iron-tasting air, a small drop of blood followed the flow of rain and splattered onto the man's outstretched hand.

"Lord Rayleigh, operation reflection was a bust. It seems Nine Clouds Sovereign Sect was the culprit of this loss, do we go after them?"

Rayleigh smirked and a drop of blood fell from his mind, one in which he inscribed a message upon,

"Let them go, do not worry they have destroyed the knowledge of the process. And I assume we got the data we needed from Zhangfu's unfortunate death. I am aware of all, need not worry."

In the middle of the day, far above a sea of infected flesh, a bat flies. It watches the destroyed city from above, it's dark eyes flashing with an...intelligent light. After a moment it seemed scared and shot away, into the distance. Down below, Yan woke up.

She looked into the sky for a moment before sitting up and looking around. A mortal to the side, bowed and spoke quietly but with respect, "Sir saviour said to meet with him as soon as you awake."

Yan yawned and nodded, shooing away the mortal, "..." She looked suspiciously at the sky. When she was awake, her intuition had awoken her at this time due to something in the sky.

"Okay, I'll see what Hamar wants," she pointed a finger around her and drew a circle. Then while sitting down she continued to pour out certain laws, creating a space tunnel to where she could sense him. Then after a few moments, she snapped her fingers and fell through the ground. A tunnel transported her through the ground and spat her out the Hamar's side.

She landed on her feet and looked at the fleshy abomination, "So this is the price of his evil then..." She rubbed her eyes and yawned deeply.

Hamar stayed quiet for a moment before he added, "I'ts not dead...not entirely."

Deep inside the fleshy abomination a core pulsed and the soul of Zhangfu opened it's eyes and felt its enclosure trapping it. It was stuck inside a crystal of a pink hue. For a moment it felt relief until thousands of remnant souls formed from the crystals insides and started to attack.
