Hamar held his head tightly as a rush of information flooded his senses, even if he wanted to fight back he couldn't. His senses were too overloaded with the information he was gaining...and regaining.
"...False!" His aura barrier broke down and remaining aura rushed back into his body and just pushed his pain further!
He dug his fingers into the ground, "This whole world is a...a-a simulation?" Tears started to flow down his cheeks, turning into steam as the surface of his skin heated up.
Biting down with stronger and stronger force his mouth started to please, as he spoke blood spat out, "This world is made of mana because...because it's all an experiment by a higher being?! A mage!"
When the dragon-insect had borrowed into his mind, memories rushed back to him. They were things that were removed...no, not removed.
They were censored by the world. He had heard them before, but the world had caused him not to comprehend them all. Only now with Yi Sects help had he really comprehended it!
He pulled his fingers out of the ground, creating small ravine in the stone. His tears dropped onto the ground, ""It's all fake! We! We are all fake..."
Hamar sat on his knees and looked up, a smile forming on his crooked face. Beyond that, more memories flooded out.
These were the fragmented memories that the death dragon had inherited from Hou, which were now in turn inherited by Hamar.
As he looked, no, experienced them he realised they were all pertaining Hamar. The first thing he saw was a knight.
A knight using aura, the power he uses. Hamar knew that aura was foreign, this was the outside world.
"The...real world..."
A real aura swordsman, a book, a book of techniques, a king of a kingdom. He experienced a memory, a memory from Hou.
"...became....a king...no!...it's not real, it's just a dream. A dream that Hou had accessed, the dream of a king from the outside."
The memories continued, he jolted as he experienced more events. He saw himself, he saw his mortal body.
Trapped within a land of dark miasma, a scared old man. An old man with a sense of justice in that cold unforgiving land.
He saw himself learning swordsmanship, creating more and more moves. Refining. Altering. Creating.
He saw himself learning aura, starting with the few wisps of blue energy. Day by day, it grew. Quickly, a monster was born...A monster of absurd talent.
Hamar dropped, "He tried to tell me...but he even he was trapped by the world. He could understand it himself yet when he told it to others...they would gloss over it like nothing substantial was stated."
He let out white aura as his sense of self returned, "He gave me power, the power to go against the world..."
He once again experienced more memories, "Hamar, you must remember this one thing..." before Hamar could hear what Hou was saying, the memory was cut off.
Hamar coughed up blood and with wavering vision he looked up to the red-robed man from Yi Sect.
"You know the truth! We all know! Join us, join us and destroy this world, enter the real world!"
Hamar snorted, them he coughed up more blood and threw his head back. He chuckled and then that chuckle grew into a manic laughter.
"HAHAHAHA!" Hamar threw back his hair, brushed it aside and started to speak.
Each word resounded with a white aura as something occurred within his mind. It was akin to a dam breaking as the water settled he realised...
"You...don't understand." He held out his hand and a massive hand of white aura shot out, grasping the red-robed man.
Hamar closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, "This air...this blood...this body...your pain...your fear..."
Hamar opened his eyes as they glowed golden. A majestic aura burst out and suppressed all around him.
The air became still...all became still.
Stillness.
Hamar walked forward and as he did, his white aura gained that same golden hue as his eyes. The white and gold merged in a royal authority.
He pressed his blood soaked thumb against his forehead and pushed up, as he did something snapped and the golden light released it's power entirely.
"This world might be created...it might be an experiment...it might be controlled...it might be! It very well is!..."
Hamar held the red-robed man's head in his hands as he spoke his answer, "No."
He started to squeeze, gentle at first and slowly increasing, "I won't join. Yi Sect is right, this world isn't 'real' but...but that doesn't mean we aren't real, our experiences, our lives, our deaths, our accomplishments, every ant, every plant, every man, every woman!"
Hamar's golden aura pressed down onto the red-robed man, "Just because we were made, doesn't mean we aren't real. We all are real, and have real emotions and lives...and I want to protect that!"
Hamar squeezed with all of his strength, the man from Yi Sect's head burst. Hamar dropped his hand, and let the body fall down.
It slapped the ground and caused blood to cover the floor.
"Don't we all deserve to live...I won't let Hou's hope die!"
At that point Hamar looked up and recalled what Hou was saying earlier, "Hamar, you must remember this one thing...just because this world isn't what some would say is 'real' d ant mean you should give up. I have people in my life I love, and even though I want freedom...I don't want to sacrifice this world to gain freedom, if freedom can only be gained by killing those I love...well, that isn't the freedom I want"
Hamar recalled the memory, "I couldn't realise it at the time, Hou. You were speaking to me and yet the world had censored it, I couldn't comprehend it, haa"
He closed his eyes and squeezed his fists, "Yi Sect...I will take back Hou and stop your plan."
He suddenly dropped to the floor as his aura drained entirely and the golden light dissipated. In his final moments of consciousness before falling asleep Hamar said one thing, "Thank you..."
Black.
