=============

After a long session, Kara lay naked on the bed, basking in sunlight.

Her cells eagerly absorbed the energy, strengthening her and slowly restoring her strength.

"Norin, is Kal really beyond saving? What's my purpose on Earth now?"

Kara sounded lost.

Her duty was to protect Kal until he grew up and restored Krypton's glory.

Kal was Krypton's last hope, the leader of its destiny.

But with Kal dead at Zod's hands, all she had left was revenge. She felt empty inside.

"Kal can't be saved. Zod will prioritize tracking your ship, especially Kal. They believe Jor-El entrusted the Codex of Life to Kal. To revive Krypton, they need the Codex."

"But to get the Codex, they have to kill the host. Do you think Kal stands a chance?"

This was the flaw of embedding the Codex in a living body.

Jor-El thought this would prevent misuse and mark a clean break from Krypton's outdated, conservative ways.

But he didn't expect Zod and his crew to escape the Phantom Zone.

Their exile also spared them from Krypton's destruction.

Even more unexpected was Kal and Kara's separation during their journey.

They didn't gain strength from Earth's yellow sun.

So Zod tracked their signal and killed the defenseless Kal.

As for Kara, without enough sunlight, she was no match for Zod, whose genes were optimized for combat.

The gap between a battle-hardened soldier and an untrained civilian was insurmountable.

From this moment, the tragic future was set.

Even without the Flash's arrival, this universe faced Zod's transformation into a new Krypton.

Kara fell silent.

Krypton was gone. Cousin Kal was dead.

In the entire universe, only she and Zod's group remained.

But for Kal's sake, she had to kill Zod.

Though she was Kryptonian, she couldn't let Zod's group live.

Yet, looking around, she saw no familiar faces.

Except… Norin.

Kara looked at Norin, her eyes pleading. "Make me stronger."

In her rage, Kara had become a machine driven solely by revenge.

A walking corpse.

She didn't want a moment's rest. Closing her eyes brought back the flames that consumed Krypton and the news of Kal's death.

"You don't have to do this," Norin said softly, stroking her flushed face.

"Yes, I do."

Kara gritted her teeth. Despite lying powerless, she still managed to look down at him like a queen. "What? Can't handle it? Just say no, and I'll let you go today. We'll continue after you rest in that other universe."

"..."

Seeing Kara and Bruce saying the same thing, Norin suspected they'd secretly conspired to drain him completely.

But they underestimated him.

With his enhanced stamina and Kryptonian physique, Kara was no match.

If he weren't careful, she'd be unconscious by now.

Even with sunlight constantly replenishing her, she'd still be lying down.

Norin understood Kara wanted to distract herself, grow stronger, and kill Zod herself.

But what after killing Zod?

Kara hadn't thought that far. She might even leave Earth and vanish into the cosmos.

Thinking this, Norin leaned down and whispered in Kara's ear.

Her pupils dilated.

"Kal exists in other universes? So Kryptonians are still alive?"

But her joy faded quickly.

"So what? I can't travel to other universes, and you can't take people with you."

"Even if Kal's there, he's not my Kal. He's not from this universe."

"We're just isotopes in different timelines. He's not him, and I'm not me…"

As she spoke, Kara's eyes widened again.

Her face flushed.

"A... a child? A daughter? Me, at my age? Isn't it too early? And why just a daughter? What about a son?"

"You don't like sons? You just want a little princess? But how can we revive Krypton without a son?"

"My son's naughty? Why? Why's he stealing milk? Why… why are you stealing it from him!"

"Wait! No! I didn't say I wanted a baby with you! Stop!!!"

Kara tried to push Norin away, but she was too weak.

After a half-hearted struggle, she gave up, letting him take charge.

In the entire universe, besides Zod's crew, only Kara and Norin—who could copy Kryptonian physiology—were compatible.

Ordinary humans stood no chance.

If the man were Kryptonian, it'd be fine. But with a female Kryptonian's endless stamina, male pride would crumble.

When the man was exhausted, the Kryptonian woman would pretend to be satisfied, quietly assuring him he was amazing.

Where's the pride? Shattered.

This was the result of the Kryptonian woman using her bioelectric field to control her body.

Otherwise, that alone would leave ordinary men in despair.

"Fine. I can't resist you anyway. As for a child, you can try to get me pregnant first."

Kara gave up but clung to Norin, not letting him leave.

She pretended to be helpless and disgusted.

Seeing this, Norin didn't hesitate. He charged forward, fighting for Krypton's revival.

Kara paid a heavy price for Krypton's future.

Another day passed.

By the time Norin emerged, it was dark.

Bruce leaned against a wooden post, gazing at the stars, savoring what might be the last peace before the end.

"Your stamina's impressive, but you're still no match for me," Bruce said without turning.

Norin wasn't sure if Bruce was tired or just lying. Either way, his eyes were wide open.

"I recorded what you just said. When I find a younger you, I'll show it to him and see if he's as strong as you claim."

Norin waved the recording phone.

Hearing this, Bruce turned and tried to grab it.

But Norin flicked his wrist, and the phone vanished.

"You'd better be fine." Bruce warned, turning back to the stars.

"Tell me, will we see this again in the future?"

"Believe me, we will."

Norin promised. He'd do his best, for his strength and for Kara.

In just a dozen hours, their odds had improved by five levels.

He believed they'd keep rising until they hit 100%.
