Chapter 30 - Chapter 30

As soon as Sephilia asked her question, the surrounding temperature seemed to drop several degrees, as if an air conditioner had suddenly been turned on. Even though Raiga couldn't sense the aura of Earthlings, he could still feel the displeasure emanating from Sephilia.

"Put me down first," Raiga struggled uncomfortably, unaccustomed to being lifted like that. Sephilia released her grip on his collar but continued to glare at him with an imposing presence.

"You'd better have a good explanation. Why didn't you contact me?"

Raiga adjusted his clothes and hovered in front of Sephilia, gazing at her flawless, beautiful face. He thought to himself that she had grown even more attractive over time. Not only was she beautiful, but her presence was powerful. If he didn't give her a satisfactory answer, he probably wouldn't get away easily.

"My communicator broke during a mission," Raiga replied.

"If your communicator broke, then how did you return to Planet Vegeta following the recall order?" Sephilia raised an eyebrow suspiciously.

Raiga shrugged. "I finished my mission on Planet Mapa, so naturally, I came back."

"You wiped out Planet Mapa already? It's just a low-level planet, but given your strength, you should've needed a few years…" Her tone carried skepticism. Sephilia had selected Raiga's mission herself and estimated it would take him over two years to complete. Yet, he had returned in just over a year.

"Ah, Sephilia, so this is your younger brother?"

A surprised voice came from the squad leader, Hertz, as he pulled out his energy detector and scanned Raiga. "Let me check his battle power."

"Huh? 820! Your younger brother is an elite warrior too! Amazing—both siblings are elite warriors. That's pretty rare among Saiyans!" Hertz himself was an elite warrior with a battle power of 4,300 at the age of twenty-six, making him one of the elite fighters among the Saiyans.

"820 battle power?"

Sephilia showed a hint of surprise before giving Raiga a doubtful glance. Based on his birth battle power, he shouldn't have reached such a high level at his age. However, she didn't show her thoughts in front of others.

Sephilia's silence only reinforced Hertz's admiration for the siblings' remarkable talent.

"Incredible! At such a young age, he's already this strong. I wonder if my future child with Asita will have such talent." Hertz's wife, Asita, was a non-combatant with average potential, working in the royal capital's childcare department as a clerical officer.

"The captain's child will surely be an elite warrior too."

"Yeah, with the captain being so strong, his child will definitely be impressive."

Hertz waved his hand modestly and said, "That would be nice, but elite warriors make up less than one percent of newborns each year. I'd be satisfied if my child at least has the potential of a mid-level warrior."

"Alright, stop interrupting Sephilia and her brother's reunion. There's a restaurant ahead—let's go have a feast!"

"If the captain is treating us, then we'll definitely eat well!"

"The mission reward will probably be spent on this meal."

"Hahaha, it's just some mission money. It's nothing to me." Hertz waved grandly. He had long noticed that several male warriors in the squad were interested in Sephilia, but she clearly wasn't interested. He could only pity them.

Nodding at Sephilia, Hertz led his teammates toward a nearby restaurant.

"Now can you explain? How did your battle power increase so much?" Sephilia's piercing gaze locked onto Raiga.

Raiga grinned. "Because I'm naturally gifted."

Sephilia scoffed and grabbed his arm before taking off toward the sky. The biting wind stung his face as they shot across the sky like a streak of white light, arriving at a secluded area near the royal capital.

"Why did you bring me here?" Raiga asked, eyeing her warily.

"To test your growth," Sephilia said calmly.

"What?" A sense of foreboding rose in Raiga's heart as memories of being ruthlessly beaten by Sephilia a year ago resurfaced. Cold sweat trickled down his back.

Suddenly, a tremendous surge of energy erupted from Sephilia's body. The energy detector on her scouter flickered wildly. A storm of raw power radiated outward, shaking the ground and stirring up dust and debris.

3,500!

4,100!

4,600!

The numbers on the detector kept climbing until they finally settled at 5,050. Raiga's eyes widened in astonishment. A year ago, Sephilia's battle power had been only 4,200. In just a year, she had grown this much?

Sephilia's potential was terrifying!

"Raiga, let's see how much you've improved this past year."

Whoosh!

A fierce gust of wind exploded as Sephilia charged with overwhelming force. In combat mode, she was swift and ruthless. Raiga's expression changed as he quickly assumed a defensive stance, his body faintly wrapped in an invisible aura.

But Sephilia was too strong and too fast. Even when he focused energy in his eyes to track her movements, she was still a blur.

He threw a punch toward where he thought she was—only to hit nothing but air.

Spinning around to attack again, Sephilia's figure flickered and vanished, leaving only a fading afterimage.

Another miss!

After dozens of attacks, he hadn't even grazed her. His stamina, however, was depleting rapidly.

A cold voice rang out. "Your power level does reach 820, but your reaction speed is terrible, and your energy control is rough. Have you even been fighting? Your battle technique is completely unrefined."

"You severely lack combat experience. I don't even know how you completed your mission."

Saiyans weren't just powerful because of their high energy levels—they also had exceptional combat mastery. Even non-combatant Saiyans, when placed on lower-level planets, would still be formidable warriors.

Raiga forced a bitter smile. Truthfully, he hadn't done any real missions. His power had increased solely through intense gravity training.

He had no actual combat experience!

Before, he had only faced weaklings like the inhabitants of Planet Mapa or even weaker Earthlings. Even with poor battle skills, his raw power was enough to crush them. But against Sephilia, his weaknesses were laid bare.

Raiga struggled to keep up, his breathing growing more erratic. Sephilia frowned slightly, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face.

Clearly, she was displeased with his performance.

Her figure blurred, and in an instant, she was beside Raiga. Twisting her body, she unleashed a lightning-fast strike, generating a powerful gust of wind.

If this were Earth, such an attack could destroy an entire city in an instant. In the original story, even Nappa—who invaded Earth—had only around 4,000 battle power in his base form.

I'm dead!

Sephilia was serious.

Raiga couldn't dodge in time. She struck him hard, though she had held back at the last moment. Even so, the pain was excruciating.

"Sister, that was too harsh! I came to save you, after all!"

"What do you mean by that?"

Sephilia suddenly appeared right in front of him, their faces mere inches apart. Raiga could even feel the warmth of her breath.
