Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Raiga had read many Dragon Ball fan novels, and in them, protagonists often racked their brains to get Senzu Beans from Korin. Some tried trading fresh fish, others attempted deception, and some even relied on heartfelt persuasion, hoping to move Korin with sincerity.

After considering these methods, he reached a conclusion.

They were all nonsense.

Although Senzu Beans were initially just a convenient food source, they were still cultivated with great effort by Korin. They weren't something that could be obtained easily. Sure, Korin was a cat, but he was no ordinary feline—he was an enlightened, transcendent being, far beyond simple pleasures. A mere fish wasn't going to impress him.

As for deception? That was even more ridiculous. Korin had guarded the tower for over 800 years—how could he not have wisdom beyond ordinary mortals?

Would he have to act like Yajirobe and shamelessly stay at the tower?

After weighing his options, Raiga dismissed them all.

He was a Saiyan. He should act with dominance.

His speed increased as he ascended, causing powerful gusts that dispersed the clouds around the tower. Based on altitude alone, he had already surpassed the atmospheric boundary, yet he was still surrounded by blue skies and white clouds. The top of the tower remained out of sight.

"This Korin Tower is strange. The space around it seems to be affected by some mysterious force. It shouldn't actually be this high."

Marveling at its mystical nature, Raiga accelerated toward the top.

Meanwhile, at the top of Korin Tower...

Inside the spherical building atop the tower, Korin leaned on his wooden staff, watching Raiga's approach through a water basin, his expression serious.

In truth, from the moment Raiga entered the Korin Sanctuary, the overwhelming energy radiating from him had already caught Korin's attention. Compared to Earth's martial artists, Raiga's energy was vast and unrestrained. Because he had no concept of suppressing it, he was like a massive beacon in the dark, continuously revealing his immense power.

"My goodness... Where did this monster come from? A child this young possessing such terrifying strength?"

Korin had seen countless warriors, but never one as formidable as this.

If this kid decided to cause trouble, he had no way of stopping him. Pacing beside the water basin, Korin wiped the sweat from his brow, feeling an unsettling sense of dread.

Suddenly, a fierce shockwave reached the top of the tower, bringing with it a roaring windstorm.

"He's here!"

Korin tensed and turned his gaze away from the water basin. Outside, a small figure hovered in midair. The child looked no older than four or five, his face still youthful and innocent.

But as Korin felt the sheer force of his energy up close, a chill ran down his spine.

"What a terrifying kid… He cleared the tower's challenge so quickly?"

Though deeply unsettled, Korin knew he had to greet his visitor. Besides, Kami himself was probably watching this, though that didn't make him feel any safer.

Raiga, meanwhile, was observing the white, chubby cat before him, leaning on a staff. He looked just as he did in the anime—short, round, and fluffy. Supposedly, he was over 800 years old. Raiga wondered what breed of cat he actually was.

In the world of Dragon Ball, cats were truly mysterious creatures.

Korin, trying his best to remain calm, asked cautiously, "May I ask what brings you here? If it's to challenge Korin Tower, with your strength, that's completely unnecessary."

"Whether it's necessary or not isn't the point. I'm just very interested in this place."

Raiga narrowed his eyes as he examined Korin. To the cat, that expression felt ominous, as if something bad was about to happen.

Ignoring Korin, Raiga wandered around the first floor of the tower as if it were his own home, knocking on objects and making comments here and there. When he reached the water basin, he lifted the lid and peered inside. According to legend, these basins could show the past, present, and future, but Raiga saw nothing. It seemed they required a special method to activate.

Korin stood helplessly at the side, watching him with a defeated expression.

This guy was too strong—there was nothing he could do.

After exploring for a while, Raiga spoke. "I heard you have something called Senzu Beans. Eating one lets you go ten days without food. Hand them over."

Korin hesitated. "That's true, but Senzu Beans are meant for martial artists who challenge Korin Tower…"

The tower had no additional food supplies, so those who climbed it survived solely on Senzu Beans. However, in the past few centuries, few had successfully reached the top, so the supply had built up.

Raiga chuckled.

His eyes gleamed with power, and without warning, he hurled an energy blast toward the ground below.

A thunderous explosion followed. The entire Korin Tower trembled as a crimson mushroom cloud billowed from the earth.

Korin rushed to the tower's edge, gripping the railing. Through the clouds, he could barely make out the devastation below—an entire section of the surrounding mountains had been obliterated.

"You see, it's best if you just hand over the Senzu Beans."

Raiga smiled innocently, casually tossing another energy sphere between his fingers.

The flickering, dazzling glow of the energy ball made Korin break out in cold sweat.

This guy wasn't here to talk things out.

Gulping, Korin shivered and hurriedly said, "W-Wait! I'll give you the Senzu Beans! Just please don't fire another blast."

Raiga burst into laughter. "Now that's more like it. Bring them here."

"I'll need a moment to find them… I haven't used them myself in years."

"Hurry up."

"..."

This kid's power was absurd. Even Kami probably wasn't his match. Just where did this monster come from?

For someone like Korin, who had never encountered powerful beings from beyond Earth, Raiga's strength was beyond comprehension—so vast it felt like the sky was collapsing.

On Earth, power levels were generally low. When the average person barely had a battle power of 5, a martial artist with a few dozen points was considered a top-tier fighter. Someone like Master Roshi, who had trained for centuries and surpassed 100, was already a legendary warrior.

Yet now, out of nowhere, came a being with 460 battle power.

Not only had he never seen anything like it—he had never even heard of such a thing.

It was suffocatingly overwhelming.

Korin sighed heavily as he rummaged through the tower, eventually pulling out a small ceramic jar from a pile of miscellaneous items.

The jar was marked with red characters: Senzu Beans.

Opening the lid, he revealed a collection of small, dried green beans.
