Steam was rising from the cups of coffee standing on the table in front of them. There was also a plate of plain cookies in the middle. They were sitting on the sofas, not by the desk, which gave the meeting a more casual, comfortable atmosphere, even though they were still undoubtedly in the pack leader's office.
But that atmosphere vanished in a blink, once Kade and Felix were left alone with Einar, and the leader opened his mouth.
"We would like to contact the leader of the Moonhill Pack to discuss your situation soon."
It was like an air bubble was suddenly popped with a needle. Although Felix had been nervous before, it was still manageable. But now, his stomach instantly dropped, and he felt dizzy and nauseous, as if he were about to throw up or faint. Or both.
Contact the leader of the Moonhill Pack? Contact Jared? To discuss Felix? Now that explained why Kade had seemed so nervous…
There was no way Felix could possibly take that well.
