"That's fine by me, I didn't come with empty pockets anyway."
She said as she took out a bag of copper and silver coins, placing it in front of her. Just as the man was about to reach out and take the bag, she tugged it back.
"I'll give you one every time you answer a question, truthfully."
The man said nothing in return, just nodded, and she began.
"Tell me about the letters you mention in the journal that you found something. What is it?"
The man glanced around the room for a few seconds after her question, as if looking to see if anyone had heard her, but no one was around to hear.
Yet he leaned forward and spoke in a hushed voice.
"A ruin."
"A ruin, really? Tell me about it."
"You can probably tell from my accent, but I'm not from around here. I'm of common birth, near the northern borders. My family was common farmers, but I always wanted to do more."
