Levi suddenly shook his head and went to assist his mother to stand up.
"Mother, what did that monster do to you?" He asked with gritted teeth.
Riley was still in shock at what just happened and quickly shook her head.
King Henry felt suddenly weak at what just happened.
Who the hell is Lucas ? He murmured and without saying a word or asking about what just happened, he walked out of the dinning room leaving the rest of the family to face that monster of a son.
Riley slowly sat down her hands shook slightly.
"Mother drink some water and be calm. " Clara said worriedly as she poured some warm water from a glass jug inside a glass cup for her mum.
She gave her mother the water which Riley took and took a sip from it. After drinking it, she placed the glass cup down.
Her gaze looked lost for a moment. The words he had said, that distance cold voice that felt as though his eyes are ok her from that moment he uttered those words.
"The next time, you or your son talk so rudely to my wife, that would be the end of your reign as a queen. " Those single words carried heavy weight making her feel emotionally and unnecessarily distressed.
She closed her eyes tightly as though asking for strength before opening her eyes.
Lucas and Catherine were still hugging each other, getting lost in their warmth. He stroke her back gently and softly as if assuring her that every thing will be fine. They remained like that for a long while until Queen Tira spoke.
"Lucas, Catherine!" She called out weakly. She too had felt the powerful thick aura from her son.
The couple who were lost in each other's embrace pulled away.
Catherine's had managed to calm her racing heart.
"Catherine dear!" Queen Tira called carefully and walked towards them.
She slowly pulled Catherine into a hug. Catherine was so shocked at first, but she relaxed as she felt calm in her embrace.
"You know the king have said you'd have to do the ritual, the last rite of the wedding." She said softly and Catherine pulled away and stared at her.
"I will do the ritual. " She said firmly and turned to look at Lucas.
Lucas stared at her without blinking his eyes.
But she knew deep down, he was in support of her decision even if she couldn't see his face in public.
Abigail walked up to them and spoke,
"Mother, do you think lady Catherine will be able to do it? Especially now she is human. "
"Don't worry lady Abigail, I will do the ritual. " Catherine said with a smile.
When do you want to start the ritual? The Queen mother asked.
"Tomorrow morning." She replied calmly.
Okay dear, make sure you are both prepared. The Queen mother said patting Catherine's back before leaving the dining room.
"Lucas, hope you don't mind?" Abigail said softly.
No. He said with his deep voice and went back to sit down.
I will go back to my room. Queen Riley finally spoke and without saying another more word or waiting for a response, she left the dinning, the moment she passed by Catherine, she quickly walked faster of course Catherine noticed it.
"You kids should eat. I will also go and prepare for tomorrow. " Queen Tira said calmly and a small smile before she left.
The royal grandma stood up and glared daggers at Catherine.
Lucas didn't say anything for a while.
"Just know that you won't be accepted in this family. " She said coldly making Catherine gulped hard.
Catherine just bowed her head gently without saying anything.
With that said, the royal grandma left.
Once the elders of the family left,
The maids came back with new sets of table clothes and prepared their meals.
Catherine went to sit next to her husband and started eating. There was silence in the dinning room.
No one spoke a word until Lucas noticed something unusual between Clara and Oliver.
He was gazing at his food but he could feel the tension between them.
What could they be hiding? He thought.
Clara who was eating quietly, was stealing glances at him. Her lover.
Oliver could feel her stealing glances at him but he decided to ignore her.
Dinner was peaceful as usual with no banters.
After dinner, every one left the dinning except of course Lucas who was walking slowly on the quiet hallway, like a devil in disguise.
While he was walking quietly , he suddenly heard a voice.
That voice was familiar as he walked closer until he heard Clara's voice. Her voice sounded pained.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the corridor,
Clara had blocked Oliver from going to his room.
"Why are you doing this to me?, Lucas is already married and soon I will be forced to get married to a nobody. Please Oliver why are you you hurting me?" She suddenly asked with a pained voice as the stung of tears slowly slid down her cheeks.
"You can't compare Lucas marriage with yours. He married a human not a supernatural being. Father wouldn't want you to marry a human. That's not possible. " Oliver said calmly and gently.
"Why don't you love me like I do? I have always loved you since we were ten. But you never show me any mixed signals. I feel hurt and broken. " She said weakly and crying profusely.
Oliver didn't say anything and just moved back a bit without saying a word.
With that, he turned away from her and walked away.
"OLIVER, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME. " She yelled painfully falling to the ground. Her heart was shattered like a broken shattered glass. She kept crying painfully non stop.
"What will now happen to her ?" She thought with a painful cry.
This was the scene Lucas watched. He didn't bother to console her. Catherine was his only wife and partner. With that, he left that scene.
