Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Deathly Hallows

"!"

"Deathly Hallows?" Snape never thought that Tom would say this term.

"Yes, the Deathly Hallows. The Resurrection Stone in the Deathly Hallows can allow you to see Lily again." Tom said as a matter of course.

"But aren't the Deathly Hallows all legends? No one has actually seen them, and you're just trying to fool me with these legends." Snape stared at Tom angrily. If he couldn't give an explanation today, then he should be prepared to receive a sharp attack.

Tom didn't care about Snape's angry look, and retorted with a smile: "Myth? No, Professor Snape, you are wrong. The Deathly Hallows is not a myth, it really exists."

As he spoke, he picked up a quill on the table and drew the symbol of the Deathly Hallows on a blank piece of parchment.

"Look, this is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows. Does it look familiar to you?" Tom smiled and handed the drawn parchment to Snape.

Snape took the parchment and examined it carefully for a long time. He raised his head in fear and confirmed with Tom in an incredulous tone: "Saint?"

Tom confirmed Snape's answer: "Yes, it is the mark of Gellert Grindelwald. Grindelwald's original intention of establishing the Saints was to find the Deathly Hallows."

"Well, did he find it?" Snape felt dry in the mouth when he heard such a secret.

Tom nodded to Snape, "Found it. The elder wand in the eldest's hand was found by Grindelwald, but after failing 45 years ago, the elder wand fell into the hands of Professor Dumbledore."

"You said that the object in Dumbledore's hand is the Elder Wand, one of the Deathly Hallows?" For the first time, Snape learned the whereabouts of one of the Deathly Hallows from Tom, and a glimmer of hope flashed in his dead eyes.

Seeing this, Tom decided to add some more information to Snape: "Well, and for you, Professor Snape, you have not only seen the Elder Wand, but also another Deathly Hallow."

"What?" Snape exclaimed without caring about his image. He thought about it for a long time but couldn't think of a time when he had seen the Deathly Hallows other than the Elder Wand.

"Professor, calm down, don't be surprised. I can guarantee you that you have seen it, in the hands of your rival." Tom comforted Snape and gave him a little hint.

"Potter?" Snape suppressed his nausea and recalled James Potter, but still shook his head, "Riddle, don't keep me in suspense."

Tom didn't intend to continue being a riddle teller, so he immediately revealed the answer: "Invisibility cloak. The one in James Potter's hand is the invisibility cloak from the Deathly Hallows. The Potter family is the descendant of the third Peverell in the story."

Snape was a little stunned. He thought it was just a legend, but he didn't expect that he had accidentally seen two of them. Then what about the Resurrection Stone? Thinking of this, the light in his eyes became brighter.

Tom also added fuel to Snape's fire at this time: "The Elder Wand and the Invisibility Cloak both exist, so the Resurrection Stone must also exist. Here's a small clue for the professor: the Resurrection Stone was originally in the hands of another Peverell."

Snape's eyes were full of hope at this time. With clues, there was hope of finding the Resurrection Stone, and then Lily might be resurrected.

Seeing this, Tom decided not to stay any longer: "It seems that today is not suitable for teaching, Professor Snape, I will take my leave first."

Snape didn't try to keep Tom and waved him away.

Just as Tom opened the door and was about to step out of the office, Snape, who had come to his senses, suddenly stopped him, secretly holding his wand and asked in a deep voice: "Riddle, how come you, a Muggle-born, know so many secrets?"

"Guess!" Tom replied with a smile, as if he hadn't noticed Snape's little move. "Good night, professor. Have a good dream!"

After saying that, he closed the door and left.

Looking at the closed door, Snape had a complicated expression. He thought it was just a simple confinement but he didn't expect it to turn out like this. He needed to take some time to sort out his thoughts.

Tom left Snape's office and took out the Gaunt family ring from the storage space.

Stroking the resurrection stone on it, he murmured to himself: "So, Severus, what price will you pay next time if you can't get what you want?"

Having temporarily solved the trouble of Snape and reaped all the benefits, Tom slept soundly and did not get up until noon the next day.

After a quick wash, Tom planned to complete the last unfinished task in his plan for this week.

After going around in circles, he came to the eighth floor and was about to concentrate on walking up to the Room of Requirement three times to open it. Suddenly, Tom seemed to sense something and took out his wand and pointed it at the corner: "I know you are there. I'll count to three. Come out on your own accord. Don't let me do anything."

"3!"

"2!"

Before the countdown was over, a figure walked out from the corner.

Tom stared coldly at the blonde with green eyes who appeared before him and asked sharply, "Very well, then, Cassandra, can you explain why you are following me?"

"I, I'm just curious about what you want to do?" Cassandra's voice trembled as she faced Tom's wand pointing at her.

"Curious? Does our Miss Volley know that there is an old saying in the far East that curiosity kills the cat?" Tom approached step by step with his wand.

Coming in front of Cassandra, Tom stroked her cheek as he had done yesterday, and said with a smile, "It seems that the impression you made on our young lady yesterday was not deep enough."

"Gudong!"

Cassandra swallowed unconsciously and couldn't utter a word.

"But I'm not so unkind. Since you are so curious, Cassandra, I must of course be kind and satisfy someone's curiosity. So what do you want to choose?" Tom's devilish whisper echoed in Cassandra's ears.

"Unbreakable Vow," Cassandra blurted out without a second thought.

Tom didn't expect Cassandra to blurt out the Unbreakable Curse. He looked up at her and then laughed, "Who will be the witness then?"

Cassandra was confused by Tom's question.

Thinking of this, Cassandra was at a loss for a moment: "Well, then what do you say we should do?"

Tom immediately took out a blank contract that he had prepared in advance from the storage space and began to fill in the contents on the spot.

"Okay, sign it."

Cassandra took the contract, the content of which was very simple: Cassandra Volley must not disclose in any form or by any means what she saw and heard today.

Under Tom's watchful eyes, Cassandra had to sign her name in tears.

As the contract burned, Tom smiled and said softly, "The contract is done. If you break it, you will know the consequences."

Cassandra nodded frantically upon hearing this. Although Tom didn't say what the consequences were and it wasn't written in the contract, she really didn't dare to gamble.

Seeing her like this, Tom nodded with satisfaction and patted her shoulder: "Okay, aren't you curious about what I want to do? Then I'll take you to see it for yourself."
