He turned his gaze back to her — sharp, golden, merciless — piercing straight through her cool facade.

"Don't get too cocky, oh great hero revered by all and loved by many," Lilith said calmly, her pink eyes narrowing slightly. "You have no right to question my or anyone's authority in this house of God. Only God may judge here."
Her thighs twitched slightly under the table — a subtle movement, but Sylvaris caught it.As if she were trying to hide something.
"And yet here I am," Sylvaris said, lounging back in the chair, his legs spread wide like he owned the room. "Being judged... by you. Tell me, Sister Lilith — are you God?"
