Yavri's expression settled into something that looked suspiciously like satisfaction.
"I can do that," she said. "Your drones are eager and not completely clueless about tactics. With enough shouting, we can make something of them."
"They will be thrilled to learn that," Kai said dryly. "In the meantime, consider this hall yours as much as Shadeclaw's training ledges. If any of my captains give you trouble, tell them the Lord said to argue with me instead."
Yavri's lips curved.
"I will," she said. "Frequently."
He snorted and stepped back, giving her the room.
She did not waste it.
"Form into squads," she snapped. "First and second lines, with me. We are going to walk this mountain until I can find the latrines with my eyes closed and my nose plugged. Third line, report to Shadeclaw for ramp duty. Fourth, to Silvershadow for ledge rotations. If any of you trip over a hatchling, I will make you run laps until your kneecaps beg for mercy."
