Chapter 198 - Chapter 202 – Embraced on Both Sides

Upon hearing those words, Queen Medusa's temper flared instantly. Her eyes turned cold, her expression as though she were about to devour someone alive.

"Are you seeking death?" she hissed.

This man was far too audacious! Did he really think he could just pull both of them into his arms and sleep between them already?

Chen Mo smiled faintly, continuing to feed Die the Snake Essence Powder.

"Can you even handle it?" he teased back.

Queen Medusa's eyes widened in disbelief. What did he just say? Was this human getting bold just because she was injured?

Unfortunately, that was the truth—right now, she couldn't do much to him. She could only threaten through clenched teeth, "Once this queen's injuries recover, we'll see how I punish you!"

"Oh? So before Your Majesty's wounds heal, that means I can punish you instead?" Chen Mo deliberately put on a roguish grin, raising his hand and curling it into a suggestive half-circle gesture.

Queen Medusa's brow twitched as killing intent flickered in her eyes. Of course, she understood perfectly what that gesture meant. After all, this man had kneaded her flat and round more than once before.

Her silver teeth clenched tightly. "You dare?" she spat coldly.

Perhaps because of her anger, the movement of her chest made her flawless curves rise and fall temptingly.

Chen Mo didn't continue to bicker with her. Instead, his gaze turned toward Die, whose delicate lips were pursed in a slight pout. She needed comforting too.

While enjoying the Snake Essence Powder Chen Mo was feeding her, Die took the chance to speak during a pause.

"Winter's almost here," she said softly. "Once my internal injuries heal a bit more, I'll find some thick fabric and make you a few winter robes."

"That won't do. You'll tire yourself out—I'd feel guilty," Chen Mo said, brushing a strand of hair from her forehead, his eyes showing a trace of guilt.

This foolish girl never argued or complained. Even after learning what had happened between her sister and him, she hadn't thrown a tantrum. Instead, she still only thought about him.

"As long as I'm making them for you, I won't feel tired," Die said sweetly. Her jade-like hand slipped into Chen Mo's robe, her fingers brushing against his skin.

Yet in the depths of her gaze, a faint trace of cunning flashed.

She and her elder sister walked completely different paths. Rather than being fierce, she chose to constantly treat Chen Mo with warmth and affection. The more women he had, the more guilty he would feel toward her—making him dote on her even more.

That way, no matter how many women Chen Mo took, her position would always remain the highest. They would all have to call her "Elder Sister."

Even her sister would be no exception.

And indeed, things were developing exactly as Die had planned.

"Sister, you shouldn't spoil a man like this," Queen Medusa said coldly. "Especially this bastard. Give him an inch, and he'll take a mile."

Hearing her sister's words, Queen Medusa frowned slightly, though a faint trace of jealousy flickered in her eyes—because unlike Die, she couldn't sew.

Her younger sister had always been quiet and gentle, never desiring the throne. From birth, she preferred learning household crafts—cooking, embroidery, tailoring.

At the time, Medusa had mocked her for it. We are of noble Medusa blood. Why would we need to learn such lowly things?

Now, she found herself regretting those words a little.

After finishing feeding Die the Snake Essence Powder, Chen Mo lingered affectionately with her for a while before picking her up and lying down with her in the middle of the soft bed. Then, as if repeating a ritual, he guided Queen Medusa's head into his other arm.

Given her proud temperament, Queen Medusa was, of course, highly resistant. With her usual arrogance, she snapped, "Human, this queen is not as foolish as my sister to let you—ah!"

Before she could finish, Chen Mo's palm lightly smacked her on the rear. He hadn't used much force, but in the silence of the room, the crisp sound was loud and clear.

The result was immediate—Queen Medusa froze completely.

Once he used the hard approach, Chen Mo naturally switched to the soft one. She was, after all, his precious queen, and had to be soothed. Gently massaging her, he coaxed softly,

"Be good, my dear. Take your medicine, and you'll get better soon."

The tone he used was no different from coaxing a child, which immediately made Die, lying on the outer side of the bed, stifle her laughter.

Queen Medusa's face darkened to the color of storm clouds.

After much effort, Chen Mo finally managed to feed her the Snake Essence Powder.

He then blew out the candlelight, removed his outer robe, tossed it onto the floor, and lowered the bed's gauzy curtain before lying down between them.

The room fell completely silent.

If one listened closely, only two faint breaths could be heard in the darkness.

Though Queen Medusa had earlier threatened him—"Just wait until I recover, you'll pay for this"—now, lying there, she couldn't help feeling uneasy.

This bastard… surely he doesn't intend to do something like that in front of my sister, does he?

Right now, she was like a lamb on the chopping block, unable to resist—completely at his mercy.

Die's heart wasn't calm either. Her cheeks flushed a deep red. After all, she had yet to fully evolve into her human form.

If Chen Mo gets impulsive tonight… he'll have to… with Sister instead, right?

Chen Mo's breathing grew slightly heavier, though he forcibly suppressed the heat rising in his chest. Both women were still severely injured.

Thinking of that kind of thing now… what kind of man would I be?

Keeping himself in check, Chen Mo simply wrapped one arm around each of them, pulling them both close against his chest, their faces pressed to him.

Just as Die's breathing quickened and Queen Medusa was about to explode, Chen Mo whispered,

"Good night, my Queen. Good night, my dear Die."

Then he closed his eyes and drifted into calm, steady breathing.

Queen Medusa exhaled softly in relief—but strangely, she felt a twinge of bitterness in her chest.

Hmph. And here I thought you'd actually dare to do something.

At the Nalan Estate

"President Fa Ma, teacher… will she be all right?" Nalan Yanran asked anxiously, her gaze fixed on Fa Ma, who was taking Yun Yun's pulse.

When Fa Ma finished examining her, Nalan Yanran quickly asked again, her heart aching.

She had never expected that after returning from breaking her engagement in Wutan City, she would face such a disaster.

The war was lost.

The Yunlan Sect was destroyed.

Even her teacher lay gravely wounded and unconscious.

And the one responsible… was the very man she couldn't forget.

Fa Ma sighed heavily. "The Sect Master of Yunlan was struck by a powerful blow from behind. Though it didn't harm her heart, it left an extremely strong energy within her body.

This energy constantly tears at her meridians, which is why she remains unconscious. If this continues, in time… she may become crippled."

Nalan Yanran's face turned pale. "Wh-what can we do?" she asked, her voice trembling. "President Fa Ma, please—please save my teacher! She can't become a cripple!"

"I cannot heal her," Fa Ma said gravely, stroking his white beard, "but there are two possible ways.

The first is to introduce a stronger force to suppress that energy.

The second… is to use a Heavenly Flame."

His expression grew serious. "From my examination, that strange energy fears fire—but ordinary flames are useless against it. Only a Heavenly Flame can purge it completely."
