Chapter 94 - Just Sparring

"Where's Senior Ningning?"

During dinner time, they gathered again in the dining hall. Qin Xin arrived relatively early, but after waiting for a while, she only saw Qin Yue coming out of the room, with no sign of anyone else.

"Is she not coming for dinner?" Qin Xin asked Qin Yue.

Qin Yue was in a sage-like state, looking somewhat lazy, and casually replied, "You care about her a lot."

The speaker was unintentional, but the listener took it to heart. Qin Xin's heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly said, "She helped me at noon; I haven't had a chance to thank her yet."

In fact, she had already thanked her, but Qin Xin felt that mere words of thanks were not enough to express her feelings; she had to find an opportunity to properly thank her.

"She's a bit tired," Qin Yue replied, "Resting, so she won't come out for dinner."

Qin Xin: "..."

Why did I have to ask that? Now it hurts again.

Compared to lunch, dinner was equally sumptuous, but the atmosphere was much more harmonious. The younger generation sat together chatting quietly, while the adults were on the other side drinking and boasting, occasionally reminiscing about the passionate years of their youth.

They were so engrossed in conversation that even Qin Dad got pulled into it.

"Third brother, do you still remember that economic crisis over a decade ago?"

"I remember, I remember; that was really dangerous," Qin Dad said with a smile, "Fortunately, we siblings worked together..."

"It wasn't just our family; there were those partners too," the elder uncle reminded, "Little Su, Little Lin, Little Si, and the others."

"Right, otherwise, how could we be family friends?" the second uncle chimed in cheerfully.

Qin Yue didn't participate in the conversation, quietly sitting alone eating. On one hand, she wasn't interested; on the other, she had just enjoyed herself, and her mind felt a bit fuzzy.

These relatives would leave tomorrow morning; tonight was the last family dinner, so let them chat freely.

Qin Yue thought they were all talking among themselves, anyway, it had nothing to do with her. Unexpectedly, as they talked, the elder uncle looked over.

"Qin Yue, dear, I wonder if it's convenient for you?"

Qin Yue was taken aback: "What do you mean by convenient?"

"It's like this; a few days ago, we just came back and met a few old friends, all of whom you know, and we sat together and had a little drink," the elder uncle said with a smile, "To say, it's also thanks to you, Qin Yue, that we gained face; old Su and old Lin were so envious. Unfortunately, they can only envy; they can't catch up."

Qin Yue frowned slightly: "Uncle, just say what you want to say directly."

Stop flattering; it's annoying.

"Well, they just want their own kids to learn from you," the elder uncle said, "They asked me to ask you if you could arrange a few positions in the company for them to gain some experience."

Qin Dad went "ah" and didn't know what to say.

Goodness, no wonder they had been chatting about the passionate years and the importance of partners for so long; it turned out it was for this.

What could be done? They had already said everything, talking about family ties and the camaraderie during the financial crisis, and this really wasn't a big deal.

Qin Yue sighed: "How many?"

"Two, or three, at most three," the second uncle quickly said, "Don't worry, they're all girls; no one will gossip."

Indeed, outsiders don't know Qin Yue's orientation, so they won't gossip. But the problem is, you all clearly know, yet you specifically do this, which doesn't require much thought to understand the meaning behind it.

Qin Yue rubbed her temples: "See?"

......

Bai Ningning was lying on the bed playing on her phone. She first watched Bilibili for a while, then found that watching Bilibili in sage mode was really not enjoyable, so she closed Bilibili and went to the forum.

Dr. Chen and "Emotional Intelligence" both said that the key to improving speaking skills lies in learning.

As the saying goes, "In a group of three, there must be a teacher among them." With over thirty-three million people on the forum, if one out of every three people is a teacher, it would be enough for Bai Ningning to learn for a long time.

More importantly, the people on the forum speak interestingly and melodiously, which she really enjoys. She was so engrossed that she only realized when she heard footsteps at the door.

Qin Yue was back!

"Ningning, are you awake?"

Qin Yue pushed the door open with a creak, turned on the warm light to a low setting, and found her little girl... or rather, big girl still fast asleep.

Only the phone on the bedside table was still lit up.

"If you're awake, don't pretend to be asleep, silly," Qin Yue sat down by the bed and pinched her cute little face, "I'm not the dorm supervisor; I won't care if you sleep or play on your phone."

Bai Ningning carefully opened her eyes and said in a flat tone, "I just woke up; I'm too tired."

In fact, she wasn't tired at all; she was just trying to cover it up.

Qin Yue didn't think much of it and lay down next to her. With a slight tilt of her head, Bai Ningning could see Qin Yue's delicate figure.

"Something happened just now," Qin Yue said softly, "A relative wants to introduce a few girls to intern at the company; I probably can't refuse."

Family ties are important, and the friendships built over several generations must be considered. Moreover, if you don't consider the practical purpose, this is a very minor matter, just a small effort.

Qin Yue thought Bai Ningning would be a bit nervous, but unexpectedly, the girl tilted her head and curiously asked, "Are they pretty?"

"What do you mean pretty?"

"The girls who are coming to intern," Bai Ningning blinked, "Are they pretty?"

Qin Yue laughed: "They are pretty, but not as pretty as you, so don't worry."

The little green tea still has a bit of crisis awareness, which made Qin Yue very happy.

What she didn't know was that Bai Ningning simply wanted to see pretty girls.

"Well, if that's the case, they must all be pretty girls," Bai Ningning sighed.

Qin Yue didn't care much: "Not as pretty as you, and their chests aren't big either."

Bai Ningning thought that being pretty was enough; whether their chests were big or not didn't matter, since the big sister was already big enough for her to hug every day.

Even if it was a forced hug.

Qin Yue didn't continue the conversation; the arrangement for work was already set, and she just felt that such matters needed to be reported to her girlfriend.

The daily life that lovers should have!

"Also, the relatives who are having dinner today will leave tomorrow morning," she changed the subject, "You don't have to worry."

Bai Ningning was taken aback: "Why should I worry?"

What does it matter to me whether they leave or not? Am I really that scared?

Qin Yue's mouth twitched: "Are you still waiting to continue the argument?"

"No," Bai Ningning said with a cold face, completely indifferent, "It's just sparring."

Just like how we usually spar with each other, except the results are one-sided.

Qin Yue was in a good mood and didn't want to discuss sparring-related matters with her. She leaned down and gave her a kiss, then lifted the blanket and crawled in.

"Tomorrow, it will just be our family left; it will be more comfortable," she closed her eyes, "Time to sleep."

"Mm," Bai Ningning replied, "Good night."

If she didn't sleep soon, the truth that she wasn't actually tired would be exposed.
