Ella approached the bed and sat beside Adrian. After a moment of hesitation, she grabbed his uninjured hand and brought it closer to her face.
"Why are you so silly?" The words left her mouth in a hoarse whisper and as she spoke, she felt her throat choking up.
"Why must you come looking for me everywhere? You have your own world, Adrian… You have your people, you have your work, you family… I don't even belong to your world!"
"Then, why must you follow me to every danger I walk into? Would you kill yourself if I die?" Before she realized, tears fell again.
